Cloudland Canyon Pioneer Campsites

Rising Fawn, GA 30738, USA

5.0
If you’re looking for a tranquil campsite in Northern Georgia this will not disappoint. Two private bathroom stalls and showers are located by the parking lot. Campsites each have a picnic table, tent pad, and fire pit with grill. Campsites are located a decent distance from one another, we had neighbors on both sides and did not hear much at all from either of them. The loop can be a bit of a walk when making trips out with supplies, but keep your eyes peeled for shortcuts because there are many. Also recommend arriving in daylight, we had a few setbacks and arrived just after the sun had set & finding our site was not an easy task in the dark… And honorable mention to the visitor center for selling wood, ice, and s’more supplies - Rylee J

This puts you on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, a truly iconic natural landmark in the northwestern corner of Georgia. The park's setting offers rugged geology and spectacular vistas, making the journey to your campsite part of the adventure. For Georgians, reaching Cloudland Canyon is relatively straightforward. If you’re coming from the Atlanta metropolitan area, you’ll typically take I-75 North to I-24 West, then connect to local highways such as GA-136, which leads directly to the park entrance. From Chattanooga, Tennessee (a popular nearby city, just a short drive across the state line), access is equally convenient via I-24 East or local roads leading south. The park is situated approximately 8 miles east of Trenton and I-59, and about 18 miles west of LaFayette, placing it within easy reach for residents of Northwest Georgia. • Visitor Center Services: The park's visitor center is a crucial hub for campers. It sells essential supplies such as firewood, ice, and s’mores ingredients, making it easy to grab last-minute items.
  • Potable Water Access: While water might not be directly at each campsite, a water spigot is available at the general camping area or near the restrooms, ensuring access to potable water for drinking and cooking.
