Cherokee Campground & Family Reviews
Pulled in very late (9:30pm) and was greeted nicely by campers and the owner who helped me find my site, everyone here seemed very friendly, even delivering firewood right to your site! (Much appreciated after a long drive) showers and bathrooms were being actively redone while I was there and were coming along nicely. Very quiet campground with a Walmart 15-20 minutes away. For $50 a night I was not disappointed. Will be back if I’m in the area
May 08, 2025 · Matt T (1987Chevy1500)Very good value for money. Friendly and generally quiet campsite. Simple but has the necessary infrastructure and is located in the middle of various historically interesting places and hiking opportunities. Children and dogs are also welcome here. You have to try Nader's bagels and pancakes!
Sep 23, 2024 · Joshzi “Joshzi” M.If you want bedbugs stay in cabin 4. Or probably any other cabin or RV they offer for that matter based on the cleanliness of my cabin. This is my first 1 star review ever. I stayed in Cabin 4 in May of 2025 for 2 nights. The cabin had a queen bed and bunkbeds. I did my usual checks for cleanliness and did not see anything as the bed had a fitted sheet. I did do a quick check of the box spring also but should have looked further. I placed my gear on the bunk beds (sheet, sleeping bag clothes bag). I should have check them also but forgot. I did however check before I left after waking up to being covered in welts and releasing what had happened. Here is a picture of one in the bottom corner of the box spring. After throwing away a bunch of gear, doing laundry at the laundromat & roasting my shed with 2 kerosene heaters for 3 hours at 150F I think I'm good. All in an extra $250.00. Overall this place was one of the nastiness cabins / campgrounds I have stayed in aside from the bedbugs. The cabin smelled like pee, the sheets were dirty, there were other campers clothes still in the cabin, the fire ring was filled with trash, the place was covered in piles of leaves from the season before, the adults/kids inside the little store full timers I'm guessing smelled horrible.
Jun 02, 2025 · Kris L.Perfect spot for camping short or long term! Adorable clean cabins available with varying sizes, Nice pool for kids and great little store with basic grill for something to eat. Definitely five OUTTA five Stars 🤩
May 25, 2025 · Theresa HulslanderLiterally THE best campgrounds that my husband and I have stayed at so far!!! We had a deck for our fifth wheel which was super awesome because we have for dogs. The gravel that they've added to the captains is great because it really cus down on the fort tracked in by or shoes and prevents mud build up around the doors. It is so peaceful, beautiful and quiet here. We stayed for a month and the rate was perfect. We also had a fire pit provided (each individual site has their own provided by the owner). Would highly recommend!!
