This unique geographical position means campers are never far from excellent boating, fishing, and water sports opportunities on two of Kentucky's largest and most beloved lakes.
Getting to Canal Campground is notably easy, with main roads leading to the entrance being well-maintained blacktop. Gorgeous RV and Tent campsite, maintained by the US Army Corp of Engineers. Water and Power available, even at primitive sites. Hot showers, US Federal Park Discounts for Seniors. Beaches, lake, amphitheater. Some noise issues from uncontrolled dogs barking and people genning around in noisy vehicles, but otherwise quiet location.
May 09, 2025 · K ChunCanal campground is at the northern end of the Land Between the Lakes. It's easy to get to, and the main roads are nice blacktop. However, most of the loop roads are narrow, rough, and twisty. There is a good choice of sites from primitive to full hookup. Some of the loop roads can be difficult for big rigs. Our stay was overall, very enjoyable.

Apr 22, 2025 · Kenji “Ken-D” YamadaStopped in heading west on I-24 as it was fairly convenient. Was surprised at how nice the area is and the things to do so decided to stay another night. The site 61 beach front was a little hard to maneuver into (26 ft trailer) but other than that it was perfect. My husband used the shower house and stated there was plenty of hot water. We visited the Woodlands Nature Station and the North Visitor Station. Both were very nice, especially liked the bird feeders and pollinator garden.
