The campground has received a variety of feedback from visitors, highlighting both positive and negative experiences. One camper found the place to be "quite Beautiful!" and praised the "Lots of amenities, and indoor pool." They were particularly impressed with the staff, noting, "Always very helpful and friendly." They also highlighted the spacious lots and would "highly recommend!!" the park. This positive feedback often centers on the amenities and the helpfulness of the long-standing staff.
However, another camper shared a disappointing experience, stating that they felt "harassed and blamed by the owner for losing business." They felt the situation was "racially motivated," and reported being targeted while other campers played music. This negative experience led them to decide to vacation elsewhere in the future. They also mentioned a perceived change in the hospitality from previous years, noting that while the "old staff is still great," new staff members were "not as pleasant." This review also mentioned a significant issue with "biting flies."
These varied accounts provide a more complete picture of the Camper's Cove experience. The positive reviews often focus on the well-equipped facilities and the supportive nature of the established staff, which are strong points for the campground. On the other hand, the negative feedback, while from a single source, points to potential issues with new management and staff and highlights the presence of pests like biting flies. This demonstrates that while the park has many excellent features, the experience can vary depending on individual interactions and circumstances. Potential visitors should consider both types of feedback when planning their trip. It's clear that the physical amenities and the commitment of the veteran staff are major draws, but it's important to be aware of the varied nature of customer service experiences.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Found it to be quite Beautiful!Lots of amenities, and indoor pool. But most of all, were the staff. Always very helpful and friendly. We rented the Nomad camper. They were always very ready to help when we needed anything.Would highly recommend!!Big lots too 😃
July 18 · Barb WhittemoreI’m really disappointed in the turn this place has taken. We’ve been camping here every year for the last decade and this is our last. We were harassed and blamed by the owner for losing business. We had been camping for approximately 3 days of a week’s stay when we got new neighbors. Before they had even placed their camper, they were reporting us to the front. They never once attempted to talk to us personally. I feel it was racially motivated. Our music wasn’t loud or inappropriate. Music throughout the campground could be heard everywhere but we were the only ones targeted. Those neighbors left a day early and canceled for next year as well. The owner came back and blamed us for that while also stating he didn’t want to lose our business. Then he came by and lied to us about a big storm coming at noon, it rained lightly for approx 5 mins. I feel that was an attempt to get us to leave. We didn’t leave but it ruined all of our plans for the day and we cancelled renting kayaks on what ended up being the perfect day for them. The hospitality of this campground has changed from previous years. The old staff is still great, however new staff is not as pleasant. We’ve had some great family vacations here over the last decade but we will be vacationing elsewhere in the future. Also, the biting flies are really bad.
July 10 · CassieThis was the first time we've been to Campers Cove, The first of many visits I hope. The owners were lovely, kind people. The park itself was clean and there was something to do for everyone! Thank you for giving us a great long weekend... We'll be back
June 24 · Ginger VondrakGreat camp ground, faculty is awesome. All employees take great care and pride in the facility. Quiet, lots to do, peaceful.
June 30 · Rick HI used to love going camping at campers cove, a lot of us used to absolutely love it that are even from that town and we would still go out there just to enjoy ourselves and be on a little mini vacation! Well now I don't live there anymore I live an hour away and I went up there and had my ex-husbandkid's dad go there and pay for the site for me and he ended up talking to the people and everything was cool and we get there and the first thing the man asked me was if I was homeless!? I'm like no I don't even live here, you must be having problems with that though lately? And he said yes that he does not want to allow any of the homeless in Alpena to camp at his campground, then he got rude with me the next day about the site I was camped at because apparently I wasn't supposed to be at that site I was supposed to be at one right across the little road from it and I did not know that! the girl that told me where to go did not give me a lot number she only pointed in the direction of where to go, so he then commences to have an attitude in general I've been told that people have been in arguments with this man etc.. and I don't know who this guy really thinks he is because that campground is not that high tech and he's losing customers cuz there was hardly anybody there when we were there and it was at the end of the summer so it wasn't off season! He was rude about us having a tent, couple tents and told us that there was only one site in that whole campground that is rustic, which is ridiculous so what's he going to do now start turning away tents? How much more judgmental and full of discrimination can you get? The man seems full of hatred he doesn't seem like he should be doing what he's doing! I don't think he's in the right position in his life right now because he is not nice by any means! I kind of felt offended to be asked if I was homeless to be honest! 😔
