Camp Sullivan has garnered attention from visitors for its convenient location and the friendly, helpful nature of its staff, particularly for late arrivals. Campers have noted that staff are exceptionally accommodating, even assisting with cabin access during late-night check-ins. The campground offers various lodging options, including small cabins with bunk beds, providing a basic yet cozy overnight experience. While these cabins are described as clean, visitors should note they are fundamental, often without heating or air conditioning, which impacts comfort depending on the season. Benches outside the cabins offer simple seating areas for guests.
A point of consideration for cabin renters is the pricing, which some have found basic for the cost, along with a security deposit requirement. Parking for cabin guests is not directly adjacent to the cabins; instead, visitors must use a designated parking lot and transport their belongings via provided wheelbarrows – a detail to be aware of for packing. Despite these logistical aspects, the overarching sentiment is positive, particularly regarding the park's ability to offer a fun, clean, and affordable environment. Camp Sullivan Reviews
We arrived at the campsite late into the night, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and very helpful in assisting us to the cabin. We stayed in the small cabins with several bunk beds, no A/C or heat. There were two benches outside the cabins for seating.Cons: The cabins were clean and cozy, but very basic for the $100 a night price tag and $100 security deposit. Also, no parking was allowed in front of the cabins, we had to park in a lot a good walk from the cabins and haul our stuff in a wheelbarrow provided by the campsite.
May 17, 2025 · Henry PollardYou just have to go and see this place with your own eyes. Affordable, clean, fun, good place to disconnect and unwind. But still close to anything you could possibly need. And if you live in the cook county area you cannot be at this place!!
May 18, 2025 · Gregory JacksonVery poorly maintained cabins. Completely speechless as to how they choose not to properly maintain this site. The large bunk house was awful. The fridge had ducktape marks from it being taped shut and then also used to create the piece of shelf that was missing. The outside of the fridge looked as if it had not been clean in ages. The cabinets and drawers had mouse droppings everywhere and other odds and ends. The sink drained slowly and had an awful smell radiate from it. Almost all the curtains were either broken, missing, or didn't work. Out of 36 matresses I can count on 1 hand the ones that weren't torn or destroyed. There were not enough chairs for 36 people even in the cabin and of the chairs that were there a good chunk were broken or falling apart. The screens were also damaged on a bunch of the windows. The caked on filth on all the vents and light fixtures was awful. It was very unfortunate to see the lack of care given to this site overall. You would be better going to camp bullfrog who at least maintains the sites better.
Feb 17, 2025 · Amber BurtonSmall campground, sites are not level & not large, open -no shade. Staff is friendly. Electric only, no dump station, water faucet at bathrooms. Cell signal is weak. Close to shopping and dining.
Jun 30, 2025 · marcA group I belong to have been coming here every year for a weekend together. The cabins have always been clean prior to our arrival. The cabins have always been spacious so that all in our group have plenty of room to be able to mingle and sleep. Bathrooms have always been clean and stocked. Staff members have always been friendly. We are looking forward to a stay there in a few short months.
