We stayed at this campsite for one night and had a perfect experience! Camp spot #2 is definitely the best — it has an amazing view, you can hear the sound of nearby waterfalls, and see the river right from your tent. There’s plenty of space for your car and all your camping gear. The site includes a fire pit, a picnic table with a bench, and everything was clean and well maintained. The host was super kind and helpful — she explained everything clearly when we arrived. It was a great experience, and all for just $20!We also noticed that spot #3 is bigger and can fit two cars, so it’s great for a group. The whole place was peaceful and quiet, and the restroom was very clean. There’s even a shower (no hot water, but still nice to have!).Overall, I really loved this camp and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in nature. - Ирина Зятикова

This location places it along the scenic Trinity River in Humboldt County, deep within the lush forested landscapes of Northern California. Willow Creek itself is a small, charming town often considered the gateway to the Trinity Alps Wilderness and an excellent base for exploring the rich natural beauty of the region, including the Six Rivers National Forest.

For those of us living in California, accessing Camp Kimtu involves a picturesque drive through some of the state's most beautiful and winding roads. From major Northern California hubs:

  • From Eureka/Arcata: Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive east on Highway 299, a scenic route through redwood country.
  • From Redding: Approximately 2 hours drive west on Highway 299, offering a journey through diverse terrains from the Central Valley foothills to mountainous forests.
  • From the San Francisco Bay Area: The drive is more substantial, typically around 5 to 6 hours, making it an ideal destination for a longer vacation. It involves traveling north on Highway 101, then cutting east on Highway 299.
