The Buffalo National River area is renowned for its majestic bluffs, pristine waters, and vast wilderness, drawing outdoor enthusiasts from across the state and beyond. Buffalo Outdoor Center RV Park elevates your camping experience by combining the comforts of home with direct access to these natural wonders. Whether you're planning to float the iconic Buffalo River, hike scenic trails, or simply relax and soak in the magnificent scenery, this RV park is designed to enhance your stay. Let's dive into what makes Buffalo Outdoor Center RV Park a standout choice for Arkansans seeking a memorable and comfortable outdoor adventure.
Buffalo Outdoor Center RV Park is conveniently located at Fire Tower Rd, Kingston, AR 72742, USA. Situated atop a hill, the park boasts an elevated position that provides expansive, unobstructed views of the surrounding Ozark landscape. While the park itself offers excellent facilities, it's important for visitors to be aware of the approach. The county roads leading to the campground can be a bit curvy and bumpy. However, as noted by past visitors, taking it slow makes the journey entirely manageable, even with an RV.
Its elevated location means it can be quite windy and feel cooler than the small towns in the valleys below, a factor that contributes to its clear views and excellent conditions for stargazing or setting up satellite internet like Starlink. One practical tip for those arriving, especially from the south on Highway 65, is that if you have a reservation and know your site number, it might be more convenient to go directly to your site to unhook your RV before heading down to the check-in center in Ponca. This park serves as a fantastic jumping-off point for those looking to rent canoes or kayaks from Buffalo Outdoor Center's main outfitter in Ponca, making river access incredibly convenient.

Buffalo Outdoor Center RV Park Reviews
Lovely RV park! The laundry room was small but clean and reasonably price. The bathrooms were very clean and very nice! The women's bathroom has a counter with 3 sinks and 3 private bathrooms that each had a shower and a toilet. The wifi worked really well, but we were the only guests for the night as it was during the winter. The park is on the top of a hill so it was very windy and felt colder than the small town nearby, but the location made for great views!
Jan 07, 2025 · Candace WoolvertonThis Rv Park is in full sun, however, the perks are you get a clear view of the night sky and good location for Starlink. I was there in an overcast time, so the sun didn’t bother me. The campground has excellent hook ups great concrete pads, beautiful, modern bathrooms, and good roads. Although the sites look close, the way they are staggered, gives you the feeling of privacy and everyone has a great view. It’s a good jumping off point for renting canoes/kayaks from Buffalo outfitters. It was also very quiet. The county roads to get to the campground are a bit curvy and bumpy, but as long as you take it slow it’s doable. One tip I have (if traveling from 65 S) is if you have a reservation and know your site, go there, unhook and then go down to the check-in center in Ponca. The water was high when I tried to float the Buffalo River. My recommendation is to go in a rubber raft. There are class one in class two rapids.
Jun 04, 2025 · SandraMy favorite campground I've stayed at to date. Unbelievable views to the east. Great picnic table, flat concrete pad, full hookups, laundry and the best campground bathrooms I've ever used. Plus, they come by and pick up your trash twice per day! The area of Ponca is an adventurer's playground. Could not recommend enough!
May 14, 2024 · Melissa PetersonNice campground. As a woman solo camper I felt very safe. The pads are perfectly level. Just pull in and unhook. Beautiful view. Only gave four stars because they had just had 4.5" rain and the sewer was flooded. So I couldn't hook up. It wasn't their fault but because of that my grey water tank overflowed. Not a big deal, other than that it was a perfect stay.
May 02, 2024 · Ed & Alice WaltonFantastic views from site 4! It’s in front of the bath house located at the top of a small hill. This location you can bring your sxs and ride about 3 miles to Wilderness Buffalo ranch and ride. The bathhouse was very modern with great shower pressure and heat. Code to get in.
