Bridgeport State Park Campground is located at Bridgeport, WA 98813, USA, specifically situated right on the beautiful banks of the Columbia River in North Central Washington. This geographical position makes it a fantastic destination for Washington residents, offering a distinct experience compared to the state's coastal or mountain regions. Its location on the Columbia River provides easy access to vast stretches of the waterway for boating, fishing, and watersports.
Accessibility to Bridgeport State Park is straightforward, typically via well-maintained state highways. While it offers a sense of remote tranquility, it's not overly difficult to reach, making it a feasible weekend getaway or a stop on a longer Central Washington road trip. From Eastern Washington cities, it's a more direct route through agricultural and rural landscapes.
The park's setting on the river also places it within the broader context of the region's rich history, particularly concerning the development of the Columbia River Basin. The nearby Grand Coulee Dam, a marvel of engineering, is a significant landmark and a popular visitor attraction, offering educational opportunities about the region's power generation and irrigation. The park itself is positioned downstream from Chief Joseph Dam, providing unique views and river dynamics.
For those seeking to explore beyond the campground, the surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and experiencing the unique ecosystem of the shrub-steppe region transitioning into riparian zones along the river. Bridgeport State Park Campground Reviews
Well spaced sites. Lots of squirrels. Some sites not level. We took site 7. From the online map, it looked like the rest room serviced the parking lot but this was the main rest room for the camping loop and site 7 was the closest and right next to the sidewalk.
May 23, 2025 · Francie DurandI can't say much about this place, only the parking lot area + that's because I never stayed there before YET. ABSOLUTELY NO CELL SERVICE HERE just you + nature 🥰 The host in 2021 was/is awesome, super kind + full of info. The parking lot was very spacious. Grounds were very well maintained + very green with lots of roaming around even if it was just the parking lot area. The bathrooms were always clean with 3-4 toilet stalls + 1 big spacious, cheap in price COIN-OP shower stall in the back. 1 day I will hopefully get around to a weekend getaway here. I definitely would recommend.
Oct 25, 2022 · Enjoli CarlisleGreat campgroundThe men's shower has no water pressure.
Jun 26, 2023 · James A. Loaris Jr.This campground made me truly appreciate state parks! I was really worried as we drove here that it would be HOT. But the lovely landscaping in the park was immediately cooling. The park was very well maintained. My one gripe was that the bathrooms were all very far away which was hard for my kids and the showers take quarters. This was a great pit stop on our way from Oregon to Canada. I was glad that we packed food since dining/ grocery options are extremely limited in this area.
Jul 12, 2022 · Annie HumeNice, quiet campground with very friendly guests. Some fires despite ban, but nothing got out of hand.I showed up after ranger registration/pay window was closed and left before it opened. After reading everything on the board (more than once), I had no indication how much I should pay as a senior cyclist tent camper at a no electric or water site. So I guessed!Take a page from Wisconsin. Put a phone with 24 hour service from which you can register and pay.
