Love this County park. I found out about it last summer and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go. The trails are fun and challenging and there are plenty of them. It is easy to go out for a short ride or go for a really long one. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some trails to ride horse on that aren’t just flat grassland - Brianna Friesen

Beaver Falls County Park Introduce

For Minnesota locals seeking an authentic outdoor adventure that combines challenging trails with a serene natural setting, Beaver Falls County Park in Morton is quickly becoming a beloved destination. This Renville County park is not your typical manicured campground; instead, it offers a more rustic and engaging experience, perfectly suited for those who love to explore and embrace the wild side of the Gopher State. Whether you're an avid equestrian, a dedicated hiker, or a family looking for a unique picnic spot, Beaver Falls County Park provides a memorable escape right here in Minnesota.

Visitors consistently express their admiration for this "County park," with many finding it to be a rapidly growing favorite. The allure lies in its extensive network of trails, which are described as both "fun and challenging," offering a welcome change from flat, mundane paths. This makes it an ideal spot for horseback riders and hikers alike, providing opportunities for both short, invigorating excursions and longer, more demanding adventures. The natural terrain, featuring wooded ravines and the picturesque Beaver Creek, adds to the beauty and appeal of every journey.

Beaver Falls County Park caters to a diverse range of outdoor enthusiasts. It is thoughtfully divided into two main areas: a dedicated horse camp and a more general recreational area. Both sections are designed to maximize the natural beauty and recreational potential of the park, ensuring that all visitors can find their preferred way to connect with the Minnesota wilderness. While the focus is on the rustic charm and outdoor activities, essential amenities are provided to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.

Location and Accessibility

Beaver Falls County Park is situated at 31521 Co Rd 2, Morton, MN 56270, USA. This location places it in Renville County, in the southwestern part of Minnesota. The park's setting is characterized by its natural, rugged beauty, making it a true outdoor haven away from urban bustle.

Access to the park involves driving on a "steep gravel road to drive in to the parking lot." While this might sound daunting, it is easily navigable, even in a standard sedan, as confirmed by visitors. The parking lot itself is described as "sufficient," accommodating visitors without issues, even during busier times. This accessibility, despite the somewhat rustic approach, ensures that the park is within reach for most vehicles.

Morton, a small town, is the nearest community, providing a quiet base for the park. While direct amenities in Morton might be limited, its proximity ensures that the park remains a natural retreat. For more extensive supplies or services, visitors would likely need to venture to larger towns in the surrounding area, though for many, the self-contained nature of camping means fewer trips outside the park.

The park's location along County Road 2 offers relatively straightforward navigation for those traveling from different parts of Minnesota. It's a place that feels remote enough to offer a genuine escape into nature, yet is still connected enough to be a convenient destination for a weekend trip or a longer outdoor adventure. The natural features, including the Beaver Creek, define its geographic character and contribute to its rugged appeal for hikers, equestrians, and nature lovers.
