Beaver Creek State Park Family Campground

11652 Leslie Rd, Lisbon, OH 44432, USA

4.0
I absolutely adore this quiet, remote, small park. Only six electric spots. We camped in a tent spot. #45. The view was outstanding. Clean bathrooms. Nice park workers. Great hiking trails. Lots to do! We will definitely come back.Update: spot 50 is quite nice. Spots 47/48 are great for two folks wanting to camp together. The culver sac is nice but the spots are very nice. Still nice and quiet! - Deb Thompson

Beaver Creek State Park Family Campground Introduce

Introduction / Overview

For Ohioans who truly appreciate the untamed beauty of our state and seek a quiet, immersive outdoor experience, Beaver Creek State Park Family Campground in Lisbon is an absolute gem. Tucked away in the scenic foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, this campground offers a distinct escape from the everyday hustle. It’s not a sprawling resort with endless amenities, but rather a smaller, more intimate park that focuses on connecting visitors with the stunning natural environment. As many local campers attest, it’s a "quiet, remote, small park" where the sounds of nature prevail. The campground provides a mix of electric and non-electric sites, alongside charming rustic cabins, catering to various camping styles. Beaver Creek State Park itself is renowned for its rugged landscapes, dense forests, and the wild and scenic Little Beaver Creek, making it a paradise for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking to truly unwind. If you’re yearning for a genuine Ohio wilderness experience where the focus is on peace, natural beauty, and outdoor adventure, then this family campground is precisely what you've been looking for.

Location and Accessibility

Beaver Creek State Park Family Campground is located at 11652 Leslie Rd, Lisbon, OH 44432, USA. This address places it within Beaver Creek State Park, a sprawling natural area in Columbiana County, Eastern Ohio. For us locals, accessing the park is generally straightforward, though it’s important to note some specifics for larger vehicles. While the park is off State Route 7, a critical detail for RVs and trailers is that a one-lane bridge on Echo Dell Road (which leads to some park attractions) CANNOT accommodate them. Therefore, if you’re driving a larger vehicle, it’s advised to approach the Park Office, Wildlife Education Center, Gaston's Mill, and Pioneer Village from the south. The family campground itself, located in the northwest section of the park, is easily accessible off Leslie Road, which connects directly to State Route 7. This ensures a relatively smooth journey for campers arriving with various setups. The park's remote yet accessible location offers the best of both worlds: a feeling of being deep in nature while still being within reach of the historic village of Lisbon and other nearby communities for supplies and services.

Services Offered

Beaver Creek State Park Family Campground provides essential services designed to facilitate a comfortable, albeit rustic, camping experience within its natural setting. Key services include:

  • Campsites: The campground offers 6 electric sites and 39 non-electric sites, providing options for various camper preferences. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring.
  • Rustic Cabins: Two Sherman Cabins are available within the family campground. These rustic cabins do NOT have running water, sinks, showers, or toilets, but they do provide electricity, heat/air conditioning, a microwave, mini-fridge, a table with chairs, a picnic table, grill, and a fire ring. Sherman Cabin 1 is ADA accessible.
  • Restroom Facilities: Pit toilets are available for campers. It's important to note that the family campground does not have a shower house; however, the park does offer "sun shower" facilities at certain locations within the park (confirm availability with park staff).
  • Dump Station: A dump station is available for RV waste disposal.
  • Potable Water: While there isn't a camper filling station directly at the campground, a drinking fountain and bottle fill station are available, and potable water is generally accessible within the park.
  • Pet-Friendly: Pets are permitted on designated sites within the family campground, though specific rules and leash requirements apply.
  • Reservations: All sites at the family campground (including electric, non-electric, and Sherman Cabins) require reservations and are not available for walk-ins.
