Attica Pines Campground Reviews
Don't! Just don't. The owners Mary & Tom Tullio make up the rules as they go along, and they only pertain to certain people at certain times.Only seasonal campers allowed and if you don't fit into the click the rules will shift spontaneously.I had a visitor of mine bring his dog and all of a sudden the new rule was "no visitor dogs". The very next weekend I saw 3 dogs with outside visitors. The place is beautiful and quiet. Quiet because it's empty. I stayed one season (2023) and could not get out of this place fast enough. I watched several people pull out at the beginning of the season and several more at the end of season (along with myself). It's almost like some weird horror movie walking around that place. It was always 90% empty. The handful of kids that were there were not open to the idea of befriending newcomers. My 11- & 13-year-old did not want to come up after the very first weekend we were there. On Labor Day weekend a large group of campers stayed in the 6 visitor lots across from us, they set up as they pleased. One week after that I had my planned group event. Friday, the night before my 15 family & friends were scheduled to come up, the office person Dena & her husband acted like they had no idea what was happening. I made the reservation 2 months in advance. They gave me such a hard time most of my people backed out. And when they did show up, they watched us like a hawk.Regarding my camper & property, just about every time I came up, someone had messed with the water hook up & hose. Another camper had their property (both cars) vandalized. The electric bill is a completely separate can of worms.I would strongly advise anyone who's considering staying here not to and find someplace better. It is beautiful and conveniently located, but the place is NOT good. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and look elsewhere. And for the record, the few people who wrote the 5 star reviews are family members, or employees.
Sep 13, 2023 · Catherine PetersUnhelpful, Unfriendly, Uninviting. My cycling partner and I arrived here after 70 miles of bicycling, having left Saginaw earlier that day. The weather was cold and overcast, with overnight temps expected around 47F/7C. The office is a run-down trailer with limited hours, and closed on Mondays (The day we arrived). I looked around for some kind of host or management. The owner emerged from a site and immediately took a very hostile tone with me. When I pointed to our bikes and mentioned we were traveling cross-country, she got more agitated. I asked if we could use one of her sites for the night (Park was half-empty). At that point she explained that they only rent for the entire season/summer. She wasn't willing at all to help us, and suggested we head into Attica and said we should try staying at a church. I think she'd decided that we were homeless, and then told me to get off the property. As we left she added "Better find something fast, it's gonna be cold tonight."Traveling across America you meet both the best, and the worst this country has to offer. This place is definitely in the latter category. The website doesn't mention that they don't do anything but season-long rentals. The property is covered in warning signs about bringing in outside firewood, there's no showers, the pond smells funky, and everything looks cheap or run-down. There's no shade, and all the RVs are parked nearly on top of each other. You could almost open a window and reach into the next RV to borrow a cup of sugar. This isn't a campground. It's a trailer park. Market it as such.
Jun 13, 2023 · Aaron DutenhoeferLove this campground. We have been coming here for years. Finally decided to be seasonal this year. We love that the owners as well as other campers enforce the rules. They are rules to keep everyone safe especially the kids. This is the only campground I feel safe letting my kids run/bike around and don’t have to worry about them.I definitely like how quick they kick people out who refuse to follow rules. Anyone leaving bad reviews just ask them what rules they broke.Great job Attica Pines!!
Aug 04, 2020 · Joshua SmithWe were VERY worried about camping here with the negative reviews but we took the chance and we are so glad we did. I truly believe the ones making the bad reviews are the ones that broke rules. They are very strict with speeding but it’s only to keep EVERYONE safe! We just spent 4 days here and we loved every minute of it! All staff including owners were great. The seasonal residents were amazing. The camp sites were large and very well maintained. They even allow dogs in the water where people can fish. The beach and slide were fun! Normally my boys want to sit on their phones and not explore but here they rode their bikes and explored. We absolutely loved it and will be back!
Sep 02, 2019 · sunflower flowerThey weren't rude to me directly but very rude to my friends and i noticed some exstream control freakishesim from management. They make up the rules on the fly as they see fit and only inforce them to outsiders and the mostly empty lots show it. Most of the people there are either close friends or family. Coincidentally they are the same ones leaving the 5 star reviews. All the sites are large enough for campers but you can bring a tent if you want the problem with that is they only allow 1 tent per sight. I could understand not wanting more than 3 tents per sight but only allowing 1 tent on a sight large enough for a camper is down right unreasonable. It's a beautiful place I just wish it wasn't run by an Autocrat.
