Location and Accessibility
Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort is ideally situated to offer both seclusion and convenient access to the region's attractions. You'll find this tranquil retreat at 14170 Crooked River Dr, Park Rapids, MN 56470, USA. This address places it in the beautiful, wooded landscape typical of northern Minnesota, yet it remains just a short drive from the amenities and charm of Park Rapids.
Park Rapids itself is a popular hub in Hubbard County, known as a gateway to the area's numerous lakes, forests, and outdoor activities. From major Minnesota cities, reaching Willow Acres involves a scenic drive. From the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul), the journey typically takes around 3 to 4 hours, primarily via US-10 W and then connecting to US-71 N or other state highways leading to Park Rapids. Similarly, from Fargo, ND, it's roughly a 1.5 to 2-hour drive, heading east on US-10 E and then south on US-71 S.
One important note on accessibility, as highlighted by past visitors, pertains to the final approach to the park. While the general area is well-served by paved state highways, some alternate routes to Willow Acres, particularly if following GPS during times of local road construction, might involve narrow or unpaved sections. It's always a good practice to check for any local road advisories or confirm the best route directly with the RV park management, especially if you are towing a large rig. Despite any minor detours, the overall accessibility to this part of Minnesota is generally excellent, allowing easy reach to attractions like Itasca State Park (home of the Mississippi River Headwaters), which is approximately 20 minutes away, and numerous other lakes and recreational opportunities.
Services Offered
Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort focuses on providing essential services that cater to self-contained RVs, ensuring a comfortable and functional stay for guests. The philosophy here is less about extensive communal amenities and more about providing robust site-specific services that allow for maximum privacy and relaxation.

Features / Highlights
The unique appeal of Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort lies in its distinct features and highlights, which prioritize space, privacy, and a connection with nature. It stands apart from many commercial RV parks by offering a more serene and secluded experience.
- Spacious, Acre-Sized Sites: This is perhaps the most significant highlight. Unlike many RV parks where sites are closely packed, Willow Acres boasts very large, often acre-sized, private and wooded sites. This generous spacing ensures that you truly have room to spread out, enjoy personal space, and not feel crowded by your neighbors. As one reviewer noted, "No neighbors close enough to bother you if they choose to be loud."
- Secluded and Quiet Environment: The park's design and location emphasize peace and quiet. It's an ideal spot for those looking to escape noise and light pollution, offering dark skies for stargazing and the natural sounds of the Minnesota wilderness. This seclusion contributes significantly to a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.
- Pull-Through Sites: All sites are designed as pull-through, which makes parking and setting up your RV exceptionally easy, even for larger rigs. This convenience is a major benefit for many RVers.
- Wooded and Level Sites: The sites are generally wooded, providing natural shade and a more authentic camping feel. They are also described as level, which simplifies the leveling process for your RV.
- Proximity to Itasca State Park: Being approximately 20 minutes from Itasca State Park, where the mighty Mississippi River begins, is a huge draw. Guests have easy access to one of Minnesota's most iconic natural landmarks, offering hiking, biking, and interpretive programs.
- Wildlife Watching: The natural setting of Willow Acres makes it conducive for wildlife watching, providing opportunities to observe local flora and fauna.
- Fiber Optic High-Speed Internet: While emphasizing seclusion, Willow Acres also offers modern connectivity. High-speed fiber optic internet is available for purchase at each site, allowing guests to stay connected for work or entertainment if desired.
Promotions or Special Offers
As a more intimate and specialized RV resort, Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort does not typically advertise widespread, seasonal promotions in the same way larger, chain-affiliated parks might. Their pricing structure is generally straightforward, focusing on daily, weekly, and monthly rates. However, potential guests should always inquire directly about any current or upcoming offers.
Based on publicly available information, Willow Acres has offered varying rates for different lengths of stay, which can effectively serve as a form of "special offer" for longer visits. For instance, weekly and monthly rates often provide a significant discount compared to accumulating daily rates.
Current reported rates (subject to change and best confirmed directly with the park) indicate:
- Nightly Rate (2-night minimum): Approximately $45
- Weekly Rate (7 nights): Approximately $250
- Monthly Rate: Approximately $700
These structured rates already offer a promotional benefit for extended stays, making it an attractive option for those looking to spend a week or more enjoying the Park Rapids area. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on availability and any potential special pricing, it is always best to contact Willow Acres directly using the provided contact information.

Willow Acres a Park Rapids RV Resort Reviews
Wonderful and secluded...quiet with large sites. No neighbors close enough to bother you if they choose to be loud. Great stay for the week I was here.
Apr 17, 2025 · SD BarnesWhile the owner did inform us about Hwy 87 construction and that there were alternate routes, he neglected to mention that these detours were miles on narrow, unpaved roads, including a very bumpy washboard section. We knew we didn't want to be driving our small tow car on those roads on a daily basis, but when we called to let the owner know we weren't staying and asked for a refund, he said he'd have to think about it, then got snarky, saying we wouldn't be driving on them five times a day. When pressed, he told us to call the DOT. Very disappointing
Jun 07, 2025 · Marsha McCrackenExactly as described, space to stretch out without having neighbors so close they could see in your windows. Fire ring with cooking grate provided which was a nice surprise. Each campsite is a pull through which works great with the 40’ toy hauler. Every place we’ve been prior we had to unload before parking & leave the machine out until we left so this was an absolute win. Owner allowed the kids to ride their machines on the property, also a big plus. Of course, we made sure they were extra respectful of the property and other campers. We have a rather large shepherd and he was welcomed and had space enough to play & be 100% exhausted when we left.Only suggestion would be to plant some leafy trees that would give some shade & relief from the sun. There’s plenty of trees but mostly pines.Whoever wrote the single star review obviously was not a camper at this campsite! We also has a major storm the 1st night. There were no puddles and not possible beings the entire campsite is located on sandy ground. We had ZERO issue with the rain or pulling through with the truck and 40’ camper through the driveway, road or into the campsite. Some people can’t be satisfied I guess. If you’re looking for a place where the kids are being entertained by everything internet or electronic this may not be for you. If the kiddos have a little imagination then go for it. Ours enjoyed taking pictures of the sunsets and isn’t that why we take them camping?
Jul 18, 2022 · Darlene LeeThis campground was truly a gem. I'm a quiet person, who deals with people all the time in my profession. So, when I go on vacation, I want peace. This place was beautiful, spacious, and had what I needed. I also camp with my German shepherd, and it was so nice to have space to exercise her! It was a win-win! Verizon didn't work well there, but that wasn't a huge deal for me. I can't wait to go back next year! ❤️🏕
Sep 28, 2022 · Paula KI am with Darlene, previous review – 5 Stars – we were actually there the same weekend and it was awesome to see the kids tooling around on the ATV’s, looked like a blast. This place is IDEAL. My wife and I compared it to BLM camping with ALL of the amenities needed: BLM Camping Minnesota style. We absolutely will come back when we head north. Owner was super helpful as our reservation for this weekend in Itasca feel through and they had an opening, so glad we stayed here because the space, site layout, picnic table, fire ring, and hook-ups were perfect. So, if you are looking for some open space, a little privacy, great location, peace, and great ownership – this is the place for you.
