Williams RV Park Introduce
For RVers looking for a place to stay in Pocola, Oklahoma, Williams RV Park offers a location to consider. While convenience and a welcoming manager, Jerry, are noted, potential guests, especially those planning winter stays or extended visits, should be aware of certain operational aspects that have been highlighted in recent customer feedback. This overview aims to provide factual information to help you make an informed decision for your RVing needs in Oklahoma.
Williams RV Park has been a choice for some RVers in the region, particularly for its management. However, customer experiences indicate significant challenges related to water service during cold temperatures. It's crucial for prospective campers to understand these reported conditions to ensure their expectations align with what the park currently offers.
Williams RV Park is located at 507 Cummings Ave, Pocola, OK 74902, USA. Pocola, Oklahoma, is situated in the eastern part of the state, very close to the Arkansas border and the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas. This location can be convenient for those traveling between Oklahoma and Arkansas or for individuals working in the Fort Smith metropolitan area who seek RV accommodation in Oklahoma.
The accessibility of the park from major routes is generally straightforward due to its address on a local avenue. While specific details on direct highway access are not extensively detailed, its position within a smaller town typically implies less heavy traffic compared to parks directly on major interstates. This could appeal to those preferring a slightly quieter setting away from the immediate highway noise, while still being relatively close to urban centers like Fort Smith for supplies and services.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Williams RV Park offers fundamental services, though with notable reported issues during colder months. Here’s a summary of what guests can expect:
- RV Sites: The park provides spaces for RVs.
- Water and Electric Hookups: Monthly charges are inclusive of electric and water. However, there are significant reported challenges with water supply during low temperatures, including water lines freezing or being shut off by the owner.
- On-site Management: The park has a manager, Jerry, who is consistently described as "very nice and helpful."
- Monthly Rates: A monthly charge of approximately $450 (as noted in a review) is levied, which reportedly includes electric and water.
It's vital to highlight the consistent feedback regarding water availability in freezing conditions. Multiple reviews express frustration over the water being turned off or freezing, leading to extended periods without access to water for essential needs like showering, cooking, and sanitation, despite monthly payments including these utilities. This suggests a potential lack of adequate winterization for the park's water infrastructure.
Considering the challenging experiences detailed in recent customer reviews, the highlights and features of Williams RV Park primarily revolve around its management and the low-cost nature of the stay, alongside significant concerns:
- Friendly and Helpful Manager: Jerry, the park manager, receives universal praise for his pleasant demeanor and willingness to assist campers, even in difficult circumstances. This positive human element is a key takeaway from the feedback.
- Affordable Monthly Rates: The park's monthly rate, inclusive of electric and water, might be attractive to those seeking a budget-friendly long-term RV stay.
- Winter Stay Challenges: A major reported feature, though a negative one, is the park's apparent lack of preparedness for winter conditions. Customers describe repeated instances of water lines freezing or being intentionally shut off by the owner during below-freezing temperatures. This led to prolonged periods without water, even for those with heated hoses.
- Owner's Stance on Water Issues: The owner is reportedly unwilling or unable to address the freezing water line issues, stating "there is nothing she can do," which has caused considerable frustration among residents.
- Lack of Contract Clarity: Reviewers indicate that the contract does not explicitly mention water shut-offs during low temperatures or a no-refund policy, leading to disputes over service paid for but not received.
- Below Standard Living Conditions (Winter): For winter stays, the living conditions are described by some as "below standards" due to the persistent water problems.
These points suggest that while the manager offers support, the overall infrastructure and ownership's approach to cold weather operation are significant deterrents for many, impacting the basic living conditions at the park during winter months.
For those considering Williams RV Park, or needing to contact management, the following information is provided:
Address: 507 Cummings Ave, Pocola, OK 74902, USA
Phone: (479) 430-9097
Mobile Phone: +1 479-430-9097
Given the nature of the concerns raised in reviews, direct phone communication is essential for prospective campers to inquire about current conditions, especially concerning water availability and winterization policies, before committing to a stay. It would be advisable to explicitly discuss the park's protocol for freezing temperatures and what measures are in place to ensure continuous water supply if considering a stay during colder months.
For locals in Oklahoma, especially those in the Poteau and Fort Smith metropolitan areas seeking an RV park, Williams RV Park offers a potentially budget-friendly option with a helpful manager in Jerry. Its location in Pocola provides proximity to work opportunities or local amenities across the Oklahoma-Arkansas border.
However, it is critically important for potential guests, particularly those planning to stay through the colder seasons, to weigh the reported issues with water supply and the owner's response to these challenges. While the monthly rate might seem attractive, the lack of consistent water service during freezing temperatures, as described by multiple customers, represents a significant concern for essential living conditions. For short-term stays during warmer months, or for RVers who are entirely self-sufficient with their own water tanks and are prepared for potential disconnections, it might be manageable. However, for those seeking reliable full hookups year-round, especially during Oklahoma's winter, or for extended stays where continuous water access is crucial, it is strongly advised to directly confirm the park's current operational status and winter preparedness before making a commitment. Understanding these realities upfront will help Oklahoma residents determine if Williams RV Park is truly suitable for their specific needs.

Williams RV Park Reviews
The manager Jerry is very nice and helpful but I wish the owner would do something to better their water line to prevent it from freezing or to stop shutting off the water line when it’s below freezing. We went 3 days now without shower to save the water for bathroom, cooking and washing dishes and now we’re tapped it’s just frustrating 😫. Because the owner says there is nothing she can do.Absolutely nowhere in the contract does it mention that the water gers turned off during low temperatures. Also the water froze between the water meter and the first camper spot. Nobody had frozen hoses that had heated hoses. Also the monthly charges are inclusive of electric and water, but this ignorant woman says it isn't their responsibility to make sure the campers have water. We paid for a full month ($450) and were there for 9 days and left because we were without water 6 days of it and was not refunded the remaining monthly charge. Nowhere in the contract does it mention no refunds. (FYI) This woman doesn't care about the people that are at her park and if you are so unfortunate to have to stay there you will understand what I'm talking about.BTW, I'm very familiar with rv parks and have been staying at them for years, probably more years than she is old, lol. Young and dumb is what comes to mind, I went as far as helping the person in charge of the park cover and insulate each and every hydrant/hookup to assure that we could keep our water that we paid for but that didn't make any difference. If you don't give what you advertise, refund the person that you've shorted, one of the simplest rules of business...I can't believe that it doesn't register to do the right thing.
Jan 25, 2024 · The FlemingThis place is not equipped for winter stay or otherwise. I seriously suggest NOT RENTING ANY SPACE FROM THIS PARK. The living conditions are below standards. They have continued to line their pockets and profit off of people who don't know their true intentions. I only gave them 1 star because it won't let me post unless one is selected. I rate them with NO STARS!
