Let’s explore what West Fort Hood Travel Camp has to offer, from its strategic location to the services that make it a go-to spot for many RVers in Central Texas.
West Fort Hood Travel Camp is strategically located at 70013 Clarke Rd, Fort Cavazos, TX 76544, USA. For eligible patrons (typically DoD ID cardholders), this location offers unparalleled convenience, eliminating the need to commute from off-base accommodations. Being on-post provides a sense of security and direct access to numerous base facilities and services, including commissaries, PX stores, medical facilities, and recreational opportunities, often at reduced prices. While access to the base requires proper identification and adherence to installation entry procedures, once inside, the travel camp is designed for easy navigation. Its internal location ensures a quiet environment, largely shielded from the external traffic and noise of surrounding towns like Killeen and Copperas Cove. This dedicated on-post setting makes West Fort Hood Travel Camp an ideal and highly accessible home base for military families on PCS moves, training deployments, or simply enjoying leisure time in the heart of Texas.

West Fort Hood Travel Camp Reviews
Good value, clean sites, and easy access. Attendants didn't seem to keep up with vacancies as they thought only 1 open when, in fact, there were 4-5 vacancies.
Apr 12, 2025 · Stephen GrangerFront desk attitude, one of the worst attitudes experienced outside of Walmart. Trash thrown around the dumpster during business hours in full view of the front desk. No flow back pressure release (yuk). Optimized for maximum amount of RV's. Exit/ Entrance mismarked...

Feb 27, 2025 · KingRanch DaddyA no-frills RV park; just the basic amenities. However, the office staff are really kind and accommodating. The community showers and restrooms are cleaned daily.** WARNING**People steal off your RV unit. Someone cut my internet cable connected from the box to my RV.The community laundry room needs upgrades. Only one washer works. The dryers are smelly and lined with pet fur. The dryers do not dry very well.
Mar 19, 2025 · Mekka HamiltonI WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULDStaff is horrible. Rates get raised even when the park isn't improving. Broken glass on corner but staff is more concerned with non existing rules. Very disappointing.Has a ton of potential if the MWR makes some changes.Update 4/9/25: staff is slightly better. Everything else remains the same
