Services Offered
While West Camp RV Park is described as "simple" and less focused on extensive amenities, it provides the fundamental services essential for RV living. Based on available information, these typically include:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The park offers individual sites for RVs, which generally include basic hookups such as electricity (commonly 30 and 50 amp services), water, and sewer connections. These are standard for accommodating recreational vehicles.
- Quiet Environment: Despite its urban location, feedback suggests the park is "quiet," indicating a calm atmosphere for residents. This is a valuable service for those seeking peace and respite.
- Large Sites: Customer reviews mention that the sites are "pretty large," providing ample space for RVs and potentially some outdoor living or parking for a tow vehicle. This offers more comfort and flexibility than tightly packed parks.
- Freedom in Site Customization: A unique aspect noted by a reviewer is the apparent "freedom to make your site your own," suggesting a less restrictive approach to site appearance compared to some highly regulated parks. This could be a "service" in terms of resident autonomy.
It is important to note that information on specific facilities like laundry rooms, restrooms, or Wi-Fi is not prominently highlighted in available reviews, suggesting they might be minimal or not a primary focus of the park's appeal. Prospective residents should directly inquire about these if they are essential for their stay.
Features / Highlights
West Camp RV Park offers several distinctive features that define its character and may appeal to specific segments of the RV community in Texas.
- Spacious RV Sites: A key highlight is the size of the individual RV sites, described as "pretty large." This provides more room for residents, offering a sense of personal space that can be a rarity in some urban RV parks.
- Quiet Atmosphere: Despite being located on a major street in Arlington, the park is noted for being "quiet." This tranquility is a significant feature for those seeking a peaceful living environment amidst the city's hustle.
- Owner's Approach to Rules: The owner's seemingly relaxed approach to enforcing rules, allowing "a lot of freedom to make your site your own," is a unique characteristic. While this can lead to varied site appearances ("harsh looking RVs and spots"), it appeals to those who value autonomy and less stringent regulations.
- Convenient Urban Location: Its location on West Division Street in Arlington offers excellent access to major highways and the extensive amenities of the DFW Metroplex, including entertainment venues, shopping, dining, and employment centers. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the region.
- Affordable Option (Implied): While not explicitly stated as "affordable," the simplicity and the focus on providing a basic, functional space often suggest a more budget-friendly alternative compared to resort-style RV parks.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge the challenges mentioned in reviews, such as a strict "no RVs over 10 years" rule despite some existing older units, the difficulty in securing a spot due to being "parking full" with no waiting list, and significant concerns about the park's online presence, which is described as being "bombarded with spam advertisements and dangerous one-click ventures." These points are vital for prospective visitors to consider when evaluating the park.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
West Camp RV Park in Arlington, Texas, presents a unique and potentially suitable living option for specific segments of the local Texan population. For those who prioritize a quiet environment and the personal freedom to customize their RV site, this park offers a distinct advantage. Its location in the heart of Arlington provides unparalleled convenience for Texans who work in the DFW Metroplex or wish to easily access its myriad attractions, including major sports venues, entertainment districts, and diverse dining and shopping experiences. This blend of urban accessibility and a relatively tranquil park setting can be a significant draw.
The "pretty large sites" are a clear benefit, providing more space and comfort than many other RV parks, which can often be cramped. For individuals or couples seeking a straightforward, no-frills RV park that allows for a degree of personal expression on their site, West Camp could be an ideal fit. However, it is crucial for Texans considering this park to be proactive. The reported difficulty in securing a spot due to high demand and the lack of a waiting list means persistence is key for potential residents. Furthermore, direct communication with the owner to understand and confirm rules, especially the age limit for RVs, and to gain clarity on the living environment, is essential given some of the candid feedback.
In conclusion, West Camp RV Park is a practical choice for Texans who value a quiet, centrally located RV spot with spacious sites and a relaxed approach to site aesthetics. While it may require diligent effort to secure a space and direct engagement with management to ensure expectations align, its urban convenience and unique operational style make it a viable and appealing option for those seeking a practical RV home in the bustling Arlington area.

West Camp Reviews
Park is a simple down and back. Quiet. Owner doesn’t have/enforce rules so there is a lot of freedom to make your site your own. And they’re pretty large sites. However, despite having harsh looking RVs and spots, he doesn’t accept anything over 10 years—ha! He should move a few out then!!! Parking full and he doesn’t have a waiting list. Just have to call and call and call.
Jan 28, 2025 · Beth SchmidtLet me be clear. I have Never stayed at this RV park before; however, I can't even see their website before I'm bombarded with spam advertisements and dangerous one-click ventures. the website should be taken down.
Jul 03, 2024 · Sean NicholsonIt's been a great place too live. I look forward to coming home. Most of the issues with the park are city related. I'm reducing my star count as rent went up nearly 100 bucks. From $575 all the way up to $650. This is allegedly because of an increase in utility rates. And along with every rent increase we generally loose amenities. There are 30ish slots at 650 a month. You do the math, If you live with one other person you could Afford standard housing and maybe pay a bit less. This place also has 0 access to high speed internet, other than expensive hotspot. Some days a train comes by every half hour, those is right against the tracks.bills are covered. But at a $100 rent increase ... are they? My wife and I are considering a move to Oklahoma where 650 a month is just about your house payment, and it's generally 10° cooler every day. That would be the other issue is some of the lots have very little shade, my air conditioner can barely keep up with the amount of heat that's falling on my house, and if you try and run two air conditioning units to compensate they want to charge you $100 extra a month. On a good day during the summer it's about 79° in the coolest part of the house maybe 75 if I'm lucky, and anywhere from say 90 to 100 in the kitchen part of the trailer, so I would say pick a Primo spot with a shade tree, if the spot available is going to just rain down sun on your trailer all day I'd find another place. This type of thing will kill your AC unit and they aren't necessarily cheap to replace. I'd like to point out that when I first moved in rent was 475 a month that was bills included, it took almost 6 years for it to get to 575, and then in less than a year went from 575 all the way up to 650, with the reduction I'm sure they're getting for the bulk electricity usage and payment that seems like about what everybody would be using per month, if not exactly that it does seem like a way to have the tenants pay a considerable portion of utilities
Aug 19, 2023 · Douglas LaneI called to find out vacancies and his response was, " Like I told you yesterday, I have no vacancies." ( I have never called this location). I informed him that I have never called. He proceeded to argue with me, that I did. Then he informed me of just how busy he was and he didn't have time for me. So I hung up on him. No people skills or customer service skills at all. After that call, even if he had an open spot I would not take it. Very hateful man.
Apr 21, 2018 · Peggy GentzelVery nice onsite Mgr. Good rates....if a space is available!$650 move in, $525/mo includes FHU (yes, power included).Cons: Adult only park, NO PETS.Abundant major construction in the area keeps this gem full.
