- The park rent was $765+utilities 4 years ago Jan 2021 when I purchased a home in this park. Now it is $995+utilities ($1068) A 30% increase in non-equity based rent in 4 years. Over a dozen long term for sale properties, almost one on every corner. Could it be that Over $1000 a month park rent plus a mortgage for the privilege of living here, has exceeded justification for cost of ownership? If I was a buyer, and seen this rate of increase in the rent price, it would’ve swayed my decision away from purchasing in this park. There is no limit to the annual increases this park may impose, and they have proven record increases will be the new normal. This park is nice, clean, and quiet. Eventually selling my property in this park will be nearly impossible. At this rate, the park rent could double in less than 15 years. This is unsustainable for myself, and unjustifiable when trying to explain to a potential buyer.
