Introduction / Overview
Weeks Island RV Park, located in New Iberia, Louisiana, presents itself as a practical and affordable option for RV travelers and locals seeking a convenient stopover or a simple base for exploring the rich cultural tapestry of Acadiana. While it may not offer all the resort-style amenities of larger parks, its core appeal lies in its straightforward approach to RV camping: clean, spacious, and level sites with full hookups at a competitive price. For those passing through or looking for a no-frills, functional place to stay, Weeks Island RV Park aims to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The park is noted for being "in process of upgrading everything," suggesting a commitment to continuous improvement, which can be a positive sign for returning visitors. Its modest size, with a limited number of sites, often translates to a less crowded and more relaxed atmosphere compared to bustling, larger campgrounds. This intimacy can be a significant draw for campers who prioritize peace and quiet over extensive recreational facilities. Despite some mixed feedback regarding certain amenities and management, the consistent positive remarks about the sites themselves, their cleanliness, and the affordability of the stay make Weeks Island RV Park a viable consideration for many Louisiana RVers.
It's important for prospective visitors to understand its functional focus. This isn't a luxury resort, but rather a reliable and well-positioned spot for those whose primary needs are a secure place to park with essential hookups. Its proximity to local attractions like the famous Tabasco Plant adds a layer of convenience for those looking to combine their stay with area exploration, making it a suitable choice for various travel itineraries.
Location and Accessibility
Weeks Island RV Park is situated at 3004 Weeks Island Rd, New Iberia, LA 70560, USA. This location places it strategically in the heart of Louisiana's Cajun Country, offering relatively easy access for locals from across the state. New Iberia itself is a vibrant city known for its historic downtown, culinary scene, and proximity to famous attractions, making the RV park a convenient base for exploration.
The park's address on Weeks Island Road indicates its connection to the unique geological feature of Weeks Island, known for its salt dome and the iconic Tabasco Plant. Weeks Island RV Park Reviews
Great little stop over campground for travelers. Sites are clean, spacious, and level, and not crowded. Full hookups, great price(bring cash or check-no credit cards accepted). In process of upgrading everything. Owner is very nice. 6 miles from Tabasco Plant, 3 miles from New Iberia.
Apr 20, 2025 · M SHADEFirst on their flyer it says there is a pool there’s not. Second you have to pay cash each month I figured they hiding money from the state that way, not my lane. I was there long enough to know the manager is not professional does a lot of talking about his health like his balks are swollen 😅I can’t. The owner comes and goes seems nice enough but not vested in the business. The shower room and place they claim you can rent for parties, the building is in bad shape I’ll include photos. Just saying it was quite right at 410 a month. The ground is hard to stay level it use to be a sugar cane field. Last I was told even though the water is well water the manager adds bleach to it, be aware you will spend lots for water for you and your pets. Also be aware of cars and windows. The manager has popped holes and dents in RVs and Cars while on riding lawnmower. This is a RV park
Jan 11, 2024 · Cynthia M. BurtonWife and I stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed it all. Price is reasonable and the park is well maintained, laundry room worked well, Curtis is on site manager and was a wealth of info on places to visit and eat, easy access to New Iberia and Lafayette
Feb 10, 2024 · Terry ScottThis is a very well maintained and quiet camp ground 160.00 a week for full hookups and a shower house with washers and dryers There is an on site manager 24 hours a day Easy access to New Iberia and about 30 minutes from Lafayette They only take cash or check as payment
Feb 06, 2024 · Donna ScottGood place to stay overall. Attached are pictures of the grounds, the office, and the building housing the laundry mat and shower house. It does cost money to operate the washer and dryer. Not sure why the sign says Weeks Island RV park, but it is the campground labeled Chase's RV park on Google maps. The owner is super nice and was very helpful. This was especially welcoming since we were staying here due to our home being unliveable at the moment due to Hurricane Ida. The grounds are nice and the shady trees are a definite plus. They have spots that are 30 amp and 50 amp with sewer and water. They also have nightly, weekly, and monthly rates that are very enticing.I was concerned because other Google reviews talk about their treatment while here being sub-par. I can see how they felt that way, but it was probably because the park does have strict rules and the groundskeeper is quick to say something about it. Two other small things are that the wifi signal the park has is super weak and didn't even reach our camper, but we did stay on an end of the park. Also the laundry room and shower house building does not have any a/c.Overall I would stay here again.
