Volunteer Park Family Campground Reviews
I initially left other than five stars but I want to especially say kudos to the manager who followed up and helped me and my wife. I had an issue (minor) with my site and she jumped to the tasked and fixed the problem. Her kindness and understanding was top tier. This is a great campground, clean restrooms and great location. the staff is what makes it a joy also. They are all so friendly. I don’t know her name but the manager who assisted me was fantastic. I would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you.
Apr 08, 2025 · Jeff HAbsolutely disappointing – Not recommendedI have stayed at over 40 campgrounds across the USA, but Volunteer Park Family Campground is by far the dirtiest and most poorly maintained I’ve ever experienced.• Neglected and dirty facilities: The public areas are extremely old, neglected, and haven’t been cleaned in years. The windows are filthy, and the laundry room is a nightmare – it reeks, and every washing machine is filled with dog hair and other dirt.• Abandoned clubhouse: The clubhouse is dusty and seems to have been unused for years. The campground is filled with old, rundown cabins of long-term residents, which also look poorly maintained.• Dangerous playground: The playground is outdated and absolutely unsafe for children. Rotten wood, exposed screws, and a slide that ends directly in front of a tree make it a real hazard.• Noise issues: A loud asphalt plant next door makes the stay even more unpleasant.I cannot recommend this campground at all. It is shocking how little attention is paid to cleanliness, maintenance, and safety here.
May 11, 2025 · S. KriegerWhat a wonderful escape. The glamping tent is just perfect. My young son and I had the most magical weekend getaway. We had the privilege of staying in the glamping tent. Well, my parents rather rv beautiful fire pits and paved areas available for kids to scooter. A wonderful family environment with lots of friendly people. Nothing like a cozy campfire and some time together enjoying nature.
Mar 20, 2025 · G MClose to interstate, but hard to get around, sites were so tight you could barely open your awning. Primarily a season campground with some overnight sites peppered around the park. Needs some work.
May 11, 2025 · Robert PalmerFELT SCAMMED. This is the worst RV park I have been to in the past 5 years; cramp spacing, dust bowl, next to Waste Management and rock quarry, loud dump trucks continuously driving by yards from facility, loud longterm guest vehicles, water smells of dead fish, RV water filter caught a lot of debrie, dust blows everywhere continuously, maintenance crew blows dirt and dust into RVs, small unmaintained pet area, a joke of a nature trail, and NO REFUND with early check out.
