Viking Mobile Home Park Introduce
For residents across Oregon, especially in the competitive Portland metro area, finding a secure, quiet, and affordable place to live long-term is a high priority. **Viking Mobile Home Park**, also known as Viking Mobile Villa, offers a solution that appeals particularly to the 55+ demographic. Located in the accessible Southeast quadrant of Portland, this community provides established spaces for manufactured homes and potentially limited RV spaces for long-term residents, focusing on stable, comfortable living rather than transient vacation stays.
It is important to understand that while it is listed as an "RV park," the community's primary function is as a dedicated **mobile home park** with a strong emphasis on a settled, long-term community. The atmosphere is deliberately maintained to be clean and quiet, providing a welcoming environment for seniors and a few exceptions of those under 55 who meet specific requirements. This focus on long-term residency and community standards differentiates it from many short-term recreational vehicle parks scattered throughout Oregon. The commitment to a tidy, small court environment is one of its most noted aspects.
The environment at Viking Mobile Home Park is designed to foster a sense of security and peaceful retirement. With most owners being 55 years of age or older, the park cultivates a mature and stable neighborhood atmosphere. While the community may lack extensive amenities, this often translates into more affordable lot rents, allowing residents to prioritize their budget while maintaining a desirable Portland address. It is recognized by residents as a quiet place where community rules are respected to ensure a harmonious living experience for all.
Viking Mobile Home Park is strategically located in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood of Southeast Portland, an area known for its mixture of residential tranquility and commercial convenience.
Address: 3441 SE 111th Ave, Portland, OR 97266, USA
This location offers excellent access for residents. It is situated directly across the street from a church on SE 112th and Powell Boulevard, providing a recognizable landmark and proximity to a major thoroughfare. The community is only about a 20-minute drive from Downtown Portland, making city amenities and hospitals highly accessible without living directly in the urban core. Furthermore, residents appreciate the ease of navigating the neighborhood, which is considered very bikeable.
Accessibility to daily necessities and public transit is a significant feature. The park is well-connected to public transportation, with the **Bus Line #9** running nearby, offering a convenient option for residents who prefer not to drive or need to reach different parts of the city. Shopping and dining options are within easy reach, with shopping centers like Powell Villa and Division Center located just a short walk or drive away.
In terms of local parks and nature, the location is a short distance from several popular green spaces. Residents are close to **Ed Benedict Park** (a nine-minute walk) and the **Kelly Butte Natural Area**, offering opportunities for quick outdoor escapes, picnics, and exercise. This connectivity to both essential services and recreational spaces highlights the strategic advantage of choosing Viking Mobile Home Park in East Portland.
Viking Mobile Home Park focuses on providing essential services that support long-term, comfortable residency, rather than offering resort-style facilities. The core of their offering lies in maintaining a stable, well-ordered environment for its residents, most of whom are 55 or older.
Key services and provisions include:
- **Dedicated Laundry Room:** The community provides a central laundry room, offering a convenient on-site facility for residents' washing needs, which is a key amenity, especially for a small, established community.
- **Long-Term RV and Mobile Home Spaces:** The community accommodates both manufactured homes and likely provides long-term RV spaces, catering to residents seeking permanent or semi-permanent living arrangements.
- **Proximity to Public Transportation:** A major advantage is the easy access to the **Bus Line #9**, providing residents with essential public transit connectivity throughout the Southeast Portland area.
- **Street Maintenance and Accessibility:** The park maintains its private internal streets, with a strict rule against parking vehicles on the streets at night, specifically to allow for easy maneuverability of emergency and utility vehicles.
- **On-Site Management:** The community has management, which is key for enforcing the strict community rules, handling maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of the park. Residents are advised to maintain open communication with the park manager.
- **Utility Access:** Spaces are equipped with necessary hookups for utilities, though residents are responsible for individual utility services.
The unique highlights of Viking Mobile Home Park are rooted in its structure and focus, which are designed to appeal to a specific demographic—the quiet, 55+ resident seeking a well-regulated environment.
Notable features that distinguish the community include:
- **Predominantly 55+ Community:** The major highlight is its age restriction, which fosters a quiet, mature, and consistent neighborhood atmosphere favored by seniors seeking peace and stability.
- **Strong Enforcement of Community Rules:** The park is known for its strict adherence to rules, such as mandatory yard maintenance (keeping lawns mowed) and prohibiting items like large clutter on porches, ensuring a consistent and tidy appearance throughout the court.
- **Low-Noise Policy:** The management enforces rules regarding noise, such as asking owners of loud piped motorcycles to push their bikes out of the court before starting, directly contributing to the desired quiet environment.
- **Safety and Emergency Vehicle Access:** The rule against parking vehicles on the park streets at night is a critical safety feature, ensuring pathways are always clear for emergency vehicles in the event of an incident.
- **Affordable Location in Portland:** As a mobile home/RV community, it offers a more budget-friendly path to living in a desirable area of Portland compared to conventional home prices or apartment rents.
- **Walkable and Bikeable Area:** The neighborhood boasts a 'Very Bikeable' score of 87 and a 'Very Walkable' score of 70, making it easy for residents to get around for quick errands and exercise.
Viking Mobile Home Park is located in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood. Prospective residents interested in available long-term spaces for RVs or manufactured homes should reach out for details on current availability, the 55+ age restrictions, and specific park rules.
Address: 3441 SE 111th Ave, Portland, OR 97266, USA

For many Oregonians, particularly those in or approaching retirement age, choosing Viking Mobile Home Park represents a conscious decision to prioritize **stability, quiet, and community standards** over extensive recreational amenities. This park is an excellent option for those who value a clean, orderly environment enforced by active management.
The first key draw is the **55+ designation**, which inherently creates a more peaceful and respectful living area. The smaller court size further enhances this, ensuring a manageable community where residents have a sense of belonging and are protected by established, well-enforced guidelines—such as those preventing clutter and excessive noise. In the context of a bustling city like Portland, this enforced quiet is a major benefit for older residents.
Second, the park offers a **realistic path to affordable, long-term residency** in Portland. By not having elaborate amenities like pools or clubhouses, the park can keep overhead and, potentially, lot rents lower than those in more amenity-rich parks. This financial practicality is vital for those on fixed incomes or those seeking to reduce their cost of living while remaining close to the city's resources, including hospitals and social services.
Finally, the **high accessibility** is a significant factor. The proximity to the Bus Line #9 and major roads ensures independence and mobility for residents. The quick, convenient access to shopping centers and neighborhood parks like Ed Benedict Park allows for an enjoyable daily lifestyle that balances urban necessity with local convenience. In essence, Viking Mobile Home Park is worth choosing for Oregon seniors who seek a quiet, clean, and regulated community that offers stability and essential accessibility in Southeast Portland.

Viking Mobile Home Park Reviews
This is a small court. Most owners are 55 plus. A few exceptions were allowed to those under 55. No amenities. One laundry room. The location is across the street from the church on SE 112th and Powell. It is a clean park, no large items on the porches. No covered parking. In a storm power would impact half the court. You are close to public transportation. Bus line is the #9. Strict rules about keeping the yards mowed. Loud piped motorcycles were asked to push the bike out. No vehicles on the park streets at night. Allowed for emergency vehicles to move. It's not a great place or bad place. For the most part it's a quiet place.
