For those traversing the California coast in their RVs or seeking an engaging family camping experience, finding a resort that balances convenience, amenities, and a vibrant atmosphere is key. Ventura Beach RV Resort, located in the dynamic city of Ventura, CA, is a prominent destination designed to cater to a variety of travelers, particularly families. This resort prides itself on creating a "family environment" and offering "family activities" that enhance the camping experience, making it a popular choice for many Californians.
Ventura Beach RV Resort aims to provide a full-service experience, blending the comforts of a resort with the adventure of camping. While it offers a plethora of activities and facilities, it's also important to consider all aspects of the experience, including pricing and potential environmental factors, as highlighted by past guests. Our goal is to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of Ventura Beach RV Resort, drawing upon available public information and customer feedback to help locals in California determine if this bustling coastal resort is the perfect fit for their next getaway or extended stay.
Ventura Beach RV Resort holds a prime location at 800 W Main St, Ventura, CA 93001, USA. This strategic address places it just off the 101 Freeway in Ventura, a vibrant Southern California city renowned for its stunning coastline, historic downtown, and an array of recreational opportunities. The resort's accessibility is a significant advantage for RV travelers, offering easy entry and exit from major transportation arteries.
The resort's proximity to key attractions is a major draw. It boasts a "short 6-minute walk to the beach," providing convenient access to the Pacific Ocean for sunbathing, surfing, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze. For those who prefer cycling, it's a "15-minute bike ride to the Ventura Beach Pier," a historic landmark offering fishing, dining, and scenic views. Additionally, the resort is within easy reach of the Ventura County Fairgrounds, a popular venue for various events throughout the year. Downtown Ventura is also easily accessible, with the resort offering a "complimentary shuttle (seasonal) to downtown Ventura" on weekends, where guests can explore Main Street's shops, restaurants, and cultural sites, and even receive "10% OFF various stores and restaurants with your resort pass." While the location is highly convenient for accessing these attractions, some guests have noted the "Freeway noise" due to its proximity to the 101, which is a consideration for light sleepers. Despite this, the resort's central position makes it an excellent base for exploring not only Ventura but also other nearby Southern California destinations like Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
Ventura Beach RV Resort offers an extensive range of services designed to ensure a comfortable, convenient, and entertaining stay for all guests. The resort aims to be a self-contained destination with a variety of amenities and support for RVers.

This includes a "free resort centipede ride throughout the resort grounds," Movie Nights/Karaoke, Live Music on Friday and Saturday evenings (weather permitting or in the recreation room), and "Light Up Your Bike Night," encouraging engagement and fun for all ages.
- Heated Swimming Pool & Hot Tub: A "refreshing heated swimming pool" and an "inviting hot tub" are central amenities. While the hot tub is restricted to ages 18 and over, the pool is a major draw. However, some guests have noted that the pool can become very crowded, especially during peak season, indicating that the amenities may not always accommodate the large number of guests.
- Recreation Room & Games: A recreational room with billiard tables, a flat-screen television, ATM, and vending machines provides indoor entertainment options. Other outdoor games include a playground, half basketball court, horseshoes, and golf ladder.
- Easy-in-and-Out Sites: RV sites are designed for "easy in and out" access, contributing to a smooth arrival and departure experience, even for large rigs. Sites are also noted as being "very clean."
- Bike Rentals: Bicycle rentals are available, providing an easy way to explore the nearby beach and Ventura Beach Pier via dedicated bike paths.
- "Trump Merchandise" in Store: One unique highlight, as mentioned in a review, is the availability of "Trump merchandise" in the general store, reflecting a specific aspect of the retail offerings.
- Friendly Staff: The staff are consistently praised as being "great" and making "an effort to create a family environment."
- Community Vibe: Despite the potential for noise or crowded amenities, many visitors describe a "close-knit atmosphere" where you can "mingle with fellow campers."
It is important to note some challenges mentioned in reviews: "Freeway noise" is a consistent complaint, and some trees may need trimming to avoid "possible damage to RV roof." Parking for trucks can also be challenging due to space constraints around sites. For families, the resort excels, but individuals without kids might find the environment less relaxing due to children running "amok, pestering everyone else except their own parents" and exceeding age limits in the spa. Pricing is also noted as being "very expensive" ($160 - $220/night), especially considering the lack of a direct beach view.

Ventura Beach RV Resort Reviews
2025, Staying during Memorial Weekend. Overall the RV Resort was very nice. They really make an effort to create a family environment and have family activities for you to enjoy while camping. Sites are easy in and out, and very clean. The rates are a bit high considering you don’t have a beach view. But our camping experience was worth the price. We loved that we could pick up some new Trump merchandise while browsing in the store. My biggest negatives are the Freeway noise and difficulty navigating our slides around the trees and having room to park our truck. Definitely worth giving the resort a try!
May 25, 2025 · JPRider796Great for families.... people without kids, not so much.Great place for people with kids where parents get to hang out at their campsite and party while their kids run amok, pestering everyone else except their own parents. Had kids riding their bikes directly THROUGH our campsite all day and night. The resort itself and staff are great, its the parents who don't teach their kids about things like campground etiquette, following rules and just being respectful of other's space. The sign right by the spa clearly states 18 & over and yet it was overflowing with very young kids whose parents just don't care.Giving only 3 out of 5 stars for the following reasons:1. some of the trees need trimming to avoid possible damage to RV roof2. for the number of guests this place can hold, it does not have the amenities (specifically pool & spa) to reasonably accommodate that number of people. I can't image how packed the pool must be in the summer.3. its very expensive ($160 - $220/night)If you don't have kids and especially if you have pets, don't expect a relaxing weekend. I would definitely visit again, just definitely NOT on a weekend.
Apr 14, 2025 · Pete SmithThis campground sadly gets terrible reviews...and doesn't deserve it. We just spent a week here for spring break. It was a beautiful campground with lovely landscaping, gorgeous green grass, cement slabs and amenities. We felt very safe as they have a strict policy on who can enter the property. I know many complained about the wrist bands but it was for our best interest that they do this. The location was great too. It is right on the bike trails and so close to town. We thoroughly enjoyed walking into town for the farmers market. Great location...kind employees...nice campground!Oh and check out the spongy tree bark...super cool!
Apr 10, 2025 · Kimberly PardueEast to get in and lots of big pull throughs. Grass between each lot and the whole place is paved! The staff is amazing and the even had featured evening events, a movie night and a karoake night. Morning coffee, pool and jacuzzi, clean and beautiful area. Its close to the freeway but there is a bike lane you can take to the beach and down town! Some freeway noise but barely noticeable! They are in the process of putting in a laundry area and hopefully wifi but perfect other than that!
Apr 06, 2025 · Tim BaerHorrible experience!! Prices are ridiculous! Showers are disgusting. The older lady at the front desk was rude. I really wanted to come visit my family and I really wanted to camp. So this was perfect, I thought! I travel by myself so I’d love to have my family come to the campsite and just hang around my camper. Sit by the fire, play games and cook on the grill. I only had one night out of the five nights that I stayed that I could have family over and it was just a couple of them. My family would've had to pay 10 per person Including children every time they would’ve came to the camp. We had so many plans of just walking and talking and eating and seti g by the fire. I paid $179 a night. Yes I Supposedly I got a deal pay two nights get one free. My cost was almost 1000.00. The front desk lady was so aggravating and rude. My trip would’ve been ruined if I let her. Then to top it off.. as I was driving home, the Camper was still parked in my spot. The plan was my nephew was going to pick up the camper and take it to his house, as I was driving home this lady calls me and tells me I have so many minutes to come and get my camper or I’ll be charged a crazy amount of money “every hour” that my camper is parked there. I told the lady that I was paid up until the next day she said no I wasn’t. I need to prove it. I told her I was driving home to Colorado. She didn’t care. She wanted proof that I had rented until the next day. So I had to pull over and send that woman proof that I rented that space until the next day. I was so mad I could’ve spit. I Will never go back. And if I didn’t think that that woman was part of the ownership, I would have tried to take her job because she was very unprofessional and very rude. Go somewhere else The RV park is full of greedy, rude individuals. Just my thoughts.
