Turtle Creek Resort is ideally situated at 185 Doyle Rd S, Kerrville, TX 78028, USA. This address places the resort deep within the beautiful and rolling terrain of the Texas Hill Country, offering a secluded and nature-immersed experience. Kerrville, often considered the heart of the Hill Country, is renowned for its scenic beauty, the Guadalupe River, and its vibrant arts and culture scene.
While the resort is described as being "right in the woods in hill country," access is manageable. Guests are advised that GPS might initially direct them up a "steep hill," but a rerouting will lead to a better, less rough terrain. This suggests that while it offers a feeling of seclusion, it remains accessible for RVs. Its location provides convenient access to the charm of Kerrville, which is approximately 10-15 minutes away. Kerrville offers a wide array of amenities, including grocery stores, diverse dining options, unique boutiques, and medical facilities.
Beyond local conveniences, Turtle Creek Resort serves as an excellent base for exploring the wider Texas Hill Country. The region is crisscrossed with scenic drives, charming small towns like Fredericksburg (known for its wineries and German heritage) and Bandera (the "Cowboy Capital of the World"), and numerous state parks and natural areas. "Great hiking nearby" is a specific highlight from a reviewer, with options such as Kerrville-Schreiner Park offering miles of multi-use trails, and numerous swimming locations readily accessible. The resort's proximity to the Guadalupe River means opportunities for kayaking, tubing, and fishing are just "right down the road." This combination of secluded natural beauty with easy access to both local and regional attractions makes Turtle Creek Resort an appealing choice for Texans looking to immerse themselves in the best of the Hill Country.
While still under development, Turtle Creek Resort is already providing essential services to ensure a comfortable and accommodating stay for RVers. Based on customer feedback and common RV park offerings, these services likely include:
- Full Hookups: As with any modern RV park, it can be expected that sites offer full utility hookups, including connections for water, electricity (likely 30 and 50 amp service), and sewer. This provides guests with all the necessary conveniences for their RVs.
- Accommodating for Large Rigs: The fact that the resort has been a "great place for our 3 large dogs and 2 kids" suggests that sites are spacious enough to comfortably accommodate larger RVs and families. The friendly owners' accommodating nature is a "huge plus."
- Privacy: Reviewers specifically highlight that "If you’re seeking privacy this is the place to be." This indicates a layout or natural landscaping that allows for a sense of seclusion at individual sites.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: The enthusiastic mention that "our dogs love it!" and that it's been a "great place for our 3 large dogs" strongly indicates a very pet-friendly policy. This is a significant draw for many Texas RVers traveling with their furry companions.
It's important to note an amenity that is currently absent but acknowledged by guests:
- No Laundromat Yet: One reviewer explicitly states, "there is not a laundromat yet." This indicates a facility that is planned or an area for future development, but currently not available on-site. Guests should plan accordingly for laundry needs.
Given the "under development" status, it is advisable for prospective guests to contact the resort directly to confirm the availability of specific amenities and services, especially for longer stays, as the resort continually adds "more accommodations for guests experience."

This implies ongoing improvements and a forward-thinking approach, which can be exciting for guests who appreciate a growing, modern park.
- Flexible Restrictions (No 10-Year Rule): A very significant highlight, especially for those with slightly older RVs, is the reported absence of strict age restrictions. "It doesn’t seem to have the restrictions most sites have against 10 years." This is a major advantage, making it accessible to a wider range of RVs that might be turned away by more rigid parks.
- Unique and Impressive Deck with Views: The mention of a "huge deck with 2 stories and a beautiful view!" suggests a fantastic communal amenity for relaxation and enjoying the natural surroundings. This feature alone can elevate the social aspect of the park.
- Proximity to Nature and Activities: Guests appreciate being "in nature" and "right down the road from so many swimming locations and great places to eat!" The "great hiking nearby" further solidifies its appeal for outdoor enthusiasts.

Feb 12, 2024 · Jamie SanchezGPS will take you up a steep hill, just keep going and it will reroute you to a better location to avoid a rough terrain. This place is right in the woods in hill country! It has been a great place for our 3 large dogs and 2 kids! This site is still under development, however, it doesn’t seem to have the restrictions most sites have against 10 years. It has a huge deck with 2 stories and a beautiful view! If you’re seeking privacy this is the place to be. Sites are not bougie and there is not a laundromat yet, but I really love the feeling of being in nature and right down the road from so many swimming locations and great places to eat!
Apr 02, 2023 · Anna OwensThe owner of this resort was beyond amazing and extremely helpful. We got lucky to get a spot here during the 4-8-24 solar eclipse since somebody moved out. other rv parks were either fully booked or charging ridiculous amounts in the nearby area for the 2024 eclipse but he charged a fair amount in my book. It’s located where you don’t think you’d find a rv resort but it’s extremely quiet and cozy for either a 1 night stay or monthly stay. Full hook up’s (electric, water and sewer) if I’m in the area of kerrville Texas again I will definitely call them up again for another visit!!!
Apr 10, 2024 · Kyle SikesDisappointing. This place is FAR from being even close to resembling a "resort." People even shoot guns nearby in the neighboring properties as this place is outside of city limits and within a neighborhood, so the noise is absolutely there and neighbors have loud music. But we don't see that because all they posted pictures of on their website at the time of this review is the water crossing and areas near the river way down the road. They didn't post pictures of their whole property (conveniently). And it's CRAMPED. They apparently want to squeeze as many people and RV's into just a few acres as they can, so there is ZERO PRIVACY and Zero places to walk, no trails, no spacious community area, nothing. The RV's have trash around them that you can even see from the street views. So apparently there are no decent standards of cleanliness. The owners/operators have carved out the hillside and left debris out in the road and large debris like dead trees and piles of dirt, rocks and boulders all around that once beautiful, now trashed hillside. It wasn't even cleaned up and hauled off. This place is a total eyesore and takes away from the beauty and landscape entirely as it has been done cheaply and in very bad taste. If you are looking for a true resort that is peaceful, clean, spacious, private and respectful of the surrounding environment, this is not it. The Texas Hill Country has plenty of other places that are actually "Resorts" and worth the money to take our RV's to. And we love adventurous camping...but... this is just gross. Their website is pretty deceptive. Also, they don't even have water. They have to haul it in. No money was put into this place to do things the right way.So, just a heads up.
Jul 12, 2023 · C ETurtle Creek Resort has the most beautiful views! Nestled atop a hill, this oasis provides a true panorama of the Texas hill country. You won't be disappointed! Enjoy the stars late at night with no city lights to distract you, it's a stargazers dream! If you're RVing through Kerrville, this is a must stay. Owners are friendly, polite and hands on.
