The Meadows Introduce
For many residents of the Sunshine State, the concept of mobile home living offers an appealing combination of affordability, a sense of community, and a relaxed lifestyle that beautifully complements Florida's inviting climate. If you're a local in the Florida Panhandle and are exploring housing options, particularly in the vibrant capital city of Tallahassee, The Meadows Mobile Home Park is a community that may come to your attention. Understanding the general nature of a mobile home park and the specific characteristics of a community like The Meadows can be incredibly beneficial in guiding your decision toward your next home.
A mobile home park, often referred to as a manufactured home community, is a thoughtfully designed residential area that provides individual lots or spaces for manufactured or mobile homes. These communities typically offer a range of shared amenities and services, all aimed at enhancing the residents' quality of life and fostering a cohesive neighborhood environment. Mobile home parks are a popular choice for a diverse demographic, including retirees seeking a comfortable and cost-effective living solution, families looking for an affordable housing option, and individuals who appreciate the inherent community aspect. A key advantage often lies in the lower initial investment compared to traditional stick-built homes, coupled with the fact that residents typically own their home but lease the land it sits on, which can lead to reduced property tax burdens. Florida's consistently warm and pleasant climate is particularly well-suited for mobile home living, allowing residents to enjoy outdoor spaces and communal amenities throughout much of the year, making an outdoor-oriented lifestyle a realistic and enjoyable possibility. However, as some recent discussions and reviews highlight, the dynamics of mobile home park ownership and lot rent can significantly impact the long-term affordability and stability of this housing option. It is crucial for prospective residents to understand that while they may own the mobile home, the land beneath it is leased, and the terms of that lease, particularly concerning rent increases, are a vital consideration.
The Meadows Mobile Home Park is located at 3535 Roberts Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32310, USA. This Tallahassee address places the community in a well-established area within the city, known for its strategic access to urban conveniences and the region's natural beauty. Tallahassee, as Florida's capital, offers a unique blend of historical significance, prominent educational institutions (such as Florida State University and Florida A&M University), and diverse natural landscapes. Being situated on Roberts Avenue suggests a location that provides relatively easy access to major roadways and the broader city. This accessibility is a significant advantage for residents, as it means that daily necessities such as grocery stores, various retail shopping centers, diverse dining options, and important healthcare facilities are typically within a short and convenient drive. The Meadows Reviews
The Neighborhood itself is pretty quite, its family oriented. I just wished they would maintain the property better, it used to look really nice, but now I have to call them to let them know my grass needs to be cut, which is crazy and the front always looks nice, but after the pool, it looks horrible!!!
Oct 19, 2020 · KACHARA MCLEODThis place has gone to pieces. If you buy a trailer here, you can't move it for ten years. They are charging $895 lot rent and you never own the land. If you don't pay the lot rent you're in debt to the new owner. That is $108,000 you're paying for land you never own. Plus if the lot rent goes up every year it's more than that. The land is not even an acre or in a beautiful area. It is now Florida Sun Estates and not worth the money or effort. If you buy a trailer you would have to charge your tenant at least $1500-1600 in rent. Covid is no excuse for this kind of rent hike. Regular lot rent was $425 with the other company and still is with other mobile home communities. And they're better taken care of. $108,000 plus cost of the used trailer can run you $120,000 and better but like the contract says you buy it you can't move it. So lot rent of $895 for every owner. Not worth it. Trailers depreciate. Regular homes appreciate and grow in value. If your going to risk that kind of money buy a house. It has equity and grows in monetary value as the years go by and you take good care of it.
