The Barlow RV Reviews
The Barlow RV is the ultimate mountain camping RV experience. There are only four sites, so it's as if you have your own private mountain to enjoy. The sites are outstanding, covered picnic tables, outdoor kitchen, and perfect fire pit with awesome views. Kim and Ripley are amazing hosts. The Barlow is tucked back in the Smokies, yet we found it convenient to many of the attractions in the area. Highly recommend staying at The Barlow for your next RV trip to the mountains.
May 19, 2025 · Ken NelsonThis boutique RV campground is your go-to NC mountain retreat! Currently, it has only four well spaced full hookup sites (20/30/50 Amp, Water, and Sewer). Each site is named according to your mountain scenery. Ripley and Kim have truly embodied luxury camping with outdoor amenities such as shaded wood pergola with chandelier, outdoor kitchen with grill/prep area, and fire pit with a set of Adirondack chairs. Additionally, the internet/WiFi is dedicated to each individual site, so no connection issues for individuals who are working on the road. Each morning and evening provided an absolutely amazing vista of the mountains. Our stay was restful and relaxing, but too short! We will definitely be returning to the Barlow RV in the coming years!
Jun 20, 2025 · Alex T & Pat ZI hesitate to leave this review because I don’t want this place to get “discovered” and hard to get into. But if you’re looking for a place to hide away from the world and recharge your batteries look no further. There are only four sites on the whole 35 acres with four more in the works. Each site is very spacious with its own beautiful grassy area, fire pit with chairs, a covered table, gas grill with propane provided, sweet night lights, and dedicated WiFi router. My wife and I both worked from the camper Thursday and Friday and the internet connection was just as strong as being in the office. We were both able to do Teams video calls, screen sharing etc. At night we sat out under the stars enjoying a fire and the cool mountain air in early June, listening to the brook below us and I thought to myself, “there are 8 billion people on this planet making noise and I can’t hear a single one one of them . . .not a car, not a plane, not a siren, not a single human sound.” It’s nice to know places like this still exist on the east coast. We will definitely be back soon.
Jun 17, 2025 · Aaron PolsgroveWe just spent Christmas at the Barlow RV. It was very peaceful, all we wanted. The sites are beautiful, spacious and clean. We didn't get to explore the property as we planned but there are trails and a very calming water stream. Although it feels secluded, there are many convenience stores nearby and restaurants. We visited Elk Falls (adventurous as it is closed due to hurricane damage but beautiful- worth the drive), Beech Mountain ski resort, and Grandfather Mountain (breathtaking taking views).
Jan 04, 2025 · Jonanht InguanzoGranddaddy site was huge, with lots of privacy. Huge rock wall behind the rig. Nice having full hook ups & sewer dump at the site. The light above the picnic table was a great touch. Everything was a well made & built. The owner even shoveled our site since it had snowed. They even messaged us to check in since there was extreme freezing temps & lots of snow.
