Swansea MH Park Introduce
For residents across Illinois, particularly those in the Metro East area, mobile home parks often represent a significant housing option, offering a different pathway to living in a community. While they can provide a sense of neighborhood and independent living, the experience within such communities can vary greatly depending on management and specific park operations. Today, we're focusing on Swansea MH Park, located in Swansea, Illinois. This article is crafted specifically for you, our local users, to provide a factual and comprehensive overview of this mobile home park, integrating direct feedback from residents to offer a realistic picture of what living here might entail.
Choosing a place to live is a deeply personal decision, and for those exploring mobile home communities in Illinois, it's vital to have all the available information. Beyond the basic structure of the homes, the day-to-day experience is heavily influenced by community management, communication, and adherence to policies. Our aim with this article is to lay out the known facts about Swansea MH Park, allowing you, as a local user, to gain a clearer understanding of its environment. We will cover its location, address reported services, and crucial feedback from residents, to give you a thorough understanding of the considerations involved with this particular community.
Swansea MH Park is located at 1401 N Illinois St Lot 14, Swansea, IL 62226, USA. This address places it directly on North Illinois Street, a significant thoroughfare in Swansea, Illinois. Swansea is a well-established village in St. Clair County, known for its suburban character and its strategic position within the greater Metro East region. Its proximity to major transportation routes and urban centers makes it an appealing place for many Illinois residents.
The location on North Illinois Street suggests straightforward accessibility, as this is a primary road in the area. Swansea's overall accessibility is a strong point for residents, with easy connections to major interstates such as I-64, I-70, and I-255. This allows for convenient commuting to nearby cities like Belleville, Fairview Heights, and of course, St. Louis, Missouri, which is just a short drive across the river. The area around North Illinois Street typically offers access to local amenities, including various businesses, services, and public transportation options. However, it is crucial to note that while the physical location is accessible, some resident feedback indicates challenges with reaching park management, stating that "Can't reach park management to get information number on google is wrong and number on sign goes to a fax machine. No office on property." This suggests that physical and communicative accessibility to the park's administrative functions may be a significant barrier for both prospective and current residents, despite the convenient geographical location.
When considering the services offered at Swansea MH Park, it's important to differentiate between typical mobile home park provisions and the operational challenges highlighted by resident feedback. Generally, a mobile home park provides spaces for manufactured homes, along with essential infrastructure. Based on the available (albeit limited and critical) information, the perceived services are heavily impacted by reported management issues.
The implied core services would be:
- Lot Rental: The fundamental service of providing a plot of land where a manufactured home can be situated, for which residents pay a monthly fee.
- Utility Connections: The necessary infrastructure for water, sewer, and electricity would be provided to each lot. However, the details on what utilities are included in the lot rent (such as trash, sewer, water) are not clear from the provided data.
However, significant issues arise concerning the *delivery* of management-related services, which are critical for a functional community. The reviews highlight a severe breakdown in key operational services:
- Payment Processing & Accounting: A former resident on Section 8 assistance explicitly stated a serious issue where "This park said they weren't getting paid," despite having "statements for the payments made" from the housing authority. The allegation of being evicted and having belongings "sat outside and stolen" due to alleged non-payment that was, in fact, covered by housing authority, points to a severe failure in financial and communication services. The claim of the park "stole from housing authority and my family" is a very serious accusation regarding service integrity.
- Communication & Responsiveness: Multiple attempts to contact management were reportedly unsuccessful, with phone numbers leading to a fax machine and no response to faxes. This indicates a profound lack of basic communication services vital for any residential community, making it difficult for residents or prospective residents to obtain information or address concerns.
- Office Presence: The explicit mention "No office on property" suggests a lack of a readily accessible physical point of contact for residents, further exacerbating communication issues.
Therefore, while the physical infrastructure for mobile homes might exist, the operational and administrative "services" that define a well-managed community appear to be severely compromised, based on this resident feedback.
The features and highlights of Swansea MH Park are presented through a very critical lens by the available resident reviews, focusing more on the challenges faced than any positive attributes. While the park is a physical location for mobile homes in Swansea, the overwhelming "highlights" are negative points related to its management and operation. Key features highlighted by the reviews include:
- Eviction Practices: A significant feature, as experienced by a former resident, is an allegedly problematic eviction process where the park supposedly failed to acknowledge payments from Section 8 assistance, leading to eviction and loss of belongings. This indicates a severe issue with how tenancy is managed and could be a major concern for any prospective resident, particularly those relying on housing assistance.
- Lack of Management Accessibility and Communication: This is a prominent and repeatedly mentioned feature. The inability to reach park management via phone numbers that are incorrect or lead to a fax machine, and the absence of an onsite office, are critical operational deficiencies. This makes it extremely difficult for residents to obtain information, address issues, or seek assistance. The statement "SEEMS THEY DON'T WANT TO RENT. Reach out to me" further underscores a perceived unwillingness to engage with potential or current residents.
- Potential for Financial Discrepancies: The allegation of the park "stole from housing authority and my family" by claiming non-payment despite evidence of payments being made, is a grave concern regarding financial transparency and integrity. This points to a significant risk for residents regarding their financial transactions with the park.
It is important to note that the provided information does not offer any positive highlights or features from a resident perspective. This contrasts sharply with most community descriptions and suggests that operational and management issues heavily overshadow any potential benefits of the physical location or housing type. For any local considering this park, these reported features represent critical risks and challenges to be thoroughly investigated.
For those who might attempt to contact Swansea MH Park, the provided information is as follows:
- Address: 1401 N Illinois St Lot 14, Swansea, IL 62226, USA
- Phone: (618) 550-2200
- Mobile Phone: +1 618-550-2200
However, it is absolutely crucial to note the severe challenges with contact reported by prospective and former residents. Reviews explicitly state: "Can't reach park management to get information number on google is wrong and number on sign goes to a fax machine. No office on property, number on sign goes to a fax machine to which I sent a fax and have not heard back." This indicates that the listed phone numbers may not provide direct access to park management, and there is no physical office on the property for in-person inquiries. Given these serious communication issues, prospective residents should be aware that obtaining information or resolving any concerns may be exceptionally difficult. If attempting to contact, it would be wise to be prepared for potential unresponsiveness and to consider alternative methods of communication or information gathering.
In conclusion, Swansea MH Park in Swansea, Illinois, presents a deeply concerning picture for local residents considering it as a housing option. While its geographical location on North Illinois Street offers general accessibility to Swansea's amenities and the broader Metro East area, the overwhelming feedback from residents points to severe operational and management deficiencies. The serious allegations of improper eviction processes, unacknowledged housing assistance payments, and alleged theft, combined with a profound lack of communication and no visible onsite management presence, raise significant red flags. For any Illinois resident seeking a stable, safe, and transparent living environment, these reported issues indicate that Swansea MH Park may not be a suitable choice. Prospective residents, especially those relying on housing assistance programs, should exercise extreme caution, thoroughly investigate all claims, and understand that reliable communication and fair management appear to be significant challenges within this community. It is critical to prioritize robust due diligence and seek legal advice regarding tenant rights if considering any property within this park, given the severe nature of the feedback provided.

Swansea MH Park Reviews
I lived in my unit over 9 years, I was receiving section 8 assistance. This park said they weren't getting paid, I went to housing they gave me statements for the payments made. They evicted me and all my family's things were sat outside and stolen. They stole from housing authority and my family. Saying I owed over four thousand dollars, they received all that money from St. Clair county housing.
