Sunbasin RV Park Introduce
For RV travelers, long-term residents, and weekend adventurers exploring the Columbia Basin, **Sunbasin RV Park** offers a practical and conveniently located place to set up camp in Central Washington. Situated just off a major thoroughfare, this RV park serves as an accessible base for enjoying the natural beauty, recreational activities, and local attractions that the Ephrata area and surrounding Grant County have to offer.
Whether you are seeking an affordable place for an extended stay while working in the region, or a simple, no-fuss overnight stop on your journey across Washington state, Sunbasin RV Park provides fundamental amenities designed for the modern RV lifestyle. The park is nestled in an area known for its sunny climate and proximity to significant landmarks, including the historic Grand Coulee Dam and the spectacular geologic formations of Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park, making it a great hub for exploration.
Choosing an RV park is often about balancing accessibility, features, and value, and Sunbasin aims to meet the practical needs of RV enthusiasts traveling through this captivating part of Washington. Its proximity to major communities like Moses Lake and the famed Gorge Amphitheatre further enhances its appeal as a strategic rest stop for concert-goers and those exploring the greater Central Washington region.
Sunbasin RV Park is located in the heart of Grant County, an area known for its semi-arid landscape, agriculture, and outdoor recreational opportunities. The physical address is **5522 N Frontage Rd W, Ephrata, WA 98823, USA**.
The park benefits from a location just a short distance from major highways, providing excellent accessibility for large recreational vehicles. Specifically, travelers on I-90 can easily reach the park by taking the Dotson Road exit. The location on North Frontage Road West ensures that the park is straightforward to find, minimizing complicated navigation after a long day of driving. This prime positioning makes it a highly efficient option for those passing through or needing quick access to the nearby towns of Ephrata, Moses Lake, and Royal City.
The Ephrata area itself is the county seat and offers essential services, dining, and local history. Its central location in the Columbia Basin puts visitors within an hour's drive of popular destinations such as the Grand Coulee Dam and the unique landscapes of the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. The flat, open terrain of the park’s setting is typical of the region, providing easy maneuverability for all types of RVs.
Sunbasin RV Park is focused on providing core necessities for RV campers, with a particular emphasis on long-term accommodations. While the atmosphere appears rustic and focused on function, the essential services ensure a comfortable and practical stay. The park is designed to handle various types of RV setups, from pull-behinds to large Fifth Wheels.
Key services and utility offerings include:
- **RV Electric Hookup:** Providing essential power for RV systems, with options for 20, 30, and 50 amp service available for full hookup sites.

- **Sewer Hookups:** Full sewer connections are available at many sites, which is a major convenience, particularly for long-term residents.

- **Tent Sites:** The park also includes a dedicated area for tent campers with no hookups but water available nearby.
The park’s features are centered around practical comfort and accommodating guests with ease, including those with accessibility needs. The highlights reinforce its position as a functional, pet-friendly option in the area.
Noteworthy features include:
- **Accessibility:** The facility features a Wheelchair accessible entrance and a Wheelchair accessible parking lot, demonstrating a commitment to accommodating all guests.
- **Running Water:** Available across the grounds, providing necessary utility access.
- **Public Shower Facilities:** A public shower is available for guests, offering a key comfort amenity for campers. Note that some sources mention a 24-hour restroom facility.
- **Dogs Allowed:** The park is pet-friendly, allowing guests to travel with their dogs, which is a significant factor for many RVers. *Guests should be prepared to keep dogs on a leash when outside their vehicle, as is standard practice.*

- **Seasonal Operation:** While some information suggests it is open year-round, other sources indicate operation from approximately April 1 to October 31, suggesting it may cater primarily to the spring and summer travel season in this semi-arid climate. Prospective guests should always call ahead to confirm seasonal availability.

For visitors to Washington's Columbia Basin, Sunbasin RV Park offers a compelling proposition, particularly for those prioritizing **value and location for extended stays**. This makes it an ideal choice for individuals or families who are relocating, working a seasonal job, or simply looking to settle in for an extended period to fully explore the vast recreational landscape of Grant County.
The park’s highly accessible location on North Frontage Road places it just minutes from Ephrata and in close proximity to major cultural and recreational draws. You are strategically positioned for day trips to:**
- **The Gorge Amphitheatre** in George for major concerts and events (approximately 20 miles away).
- **Moses Lake**, offering extensive boating, fishing, and watersports activities.
- **Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park**, a geological wonder on the Coulee Corridor Scenic Byway.
- **The Columbia National Wildlife Refuge**, offering opportunities for wildlife viewing, hiking, and hunting.
While some public feedback has noted challenges with customer service and communication, the consensus from residents who have experienced long-term stays is that the park offers a highly competitive and affordable option for setting down temporary roots in the area. The availability of full hookups, the allowance of dogs, and the fundamental facilities like public showers all contribute to a functional and practical stay. Guests who value affordability and utility over resort-style amenities will find Sunbasin RV Park to be a practical and effective staging ground for their Central Washington adventures.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- This place is a great spot close to George, Ephrata and Moses lake right on frontage Rd. So if you're looking for long term staying for cheap I'm currently here in spot 2 my pull behind is $450.00 a month and 5th wheel 500.00 a month. If on I90 get off at Dotson Rd eastbound turn left westbound off at Dotson Rd exit and take a right then first left fallow that down to the RV/camping pull in and if you haven't called ahead of time then go to the house at the end of driveway 5mph. I normally do the reviews done ahead of time but the older gal understands some English but every other member of the house understands and speaks English and transmit to there mom Nora vary sweet and wonderful lady July 17 · hippie James
- This is the worst place I have ever been to I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very rude little girl that helps her mom and that attitude of hers. I think the Mom's afraid of tht little girl. Anyway yea I would never go there. September 13 · K Badley
- We needed a place to stay pulled in and there was a woman who lived here that directed us to the woman at the house she didn’t speak English so she went and got her daughter. Both very pleasant and found us a spot we could spend the night we didn’t need any facilities as we have our own but everyone was nice and accommodating. I would definitely try to stay here again. - I have lived here for a Lil over 3 years now and I have to say, I really enjoy the quiet, peaceful, calm and friendly atmosphere that is at this park. Most everyone pretty much stays to themselves here at Sun Basin RV and Campground, although for the most part everyone is pleasant to talk to. You can even get your mail delivered here, which all goes to one mailbox for the whole park and I have never had an issue to this day in the over 3 yrs that I've lived here and haven't heard of anyone else having any troubles either. Ideal for weekend camping or RV living if you think you can handle it that is, cause I'll tell you, it is not at all easy living in a fifth wheel all year round, although if you think you can do it, well then by all means come out to Sun Basin RV and Campground and pay for a lot and see for yourselves why I've continued to live out here for over 3 years now. - Great tent camping area with level, clean, lush, manicured grass to set up a tent on. Coin OP shower and laundromat. October 19 · Ron Cichowski
