Salado RV Park Introduce
Salado RV Park offers a unique and tranquil experience for RVers seeking a quiet and peaceful retreat in the heart of Central Texas. Unlike some larger, amenity-heavy resorts, Salado RV Park emphasizes a serene, country setting, making it an ideal choice for those who are self-reliant in their RVs and value a calm environment. It has gained a reputation as a "quiet hidden gem" surrounded by mature trees, providing a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether you're looking for a short-term stopover or a long-term base while working in the area, Salado RV Park aims to provide a secure and comfortable space for your RV adventure in the Lone Star State.
Salado RV Park is strategically located at 10511 I-35, Salado, TX 76571, USA. This address places it directly off Interstate 35, one of Texas's most significant North-South arteries, ensuring exceptionally easy access for travelers. Despite its proximity to the interstate, reviews suggest it maintains a quiet atmosphere, offering a surprising contrast to its convenient location. The park is nestled near the charming and historic town of Salado, known for its art galleries, unique shops, and local breweries, providing a quaint destination for exploration. Furthermore, it's conveniently close to Temple, a larger city offering extensive shopping, dining, and healthcare facilities, including Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. This dual benefit of quiet country living with urban amenities just a short drive away makes Salado RV Park particularly appealing. While some guests have noted initial difficulties with directions and entry, the management's responsiveness to feedback suggests an effort to improve accessibility. The location is perfect for those who want to explore Central Texas attractions while returning to a peaceful home base.
Salado RV Park focuses on providing essential services for a comfortable RV stay, particularly for self-contained units and long-term residents. While it operates with a "self-reliant" model in terms of common facilities, core RV services are in place.
- Full RV Hookups: The park offers full hookups at its 15 spacious RV sites, including both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. This provides all necessary utilities for comfortable living within your RV.
- Online Booking and Communication: Reservations are primarily handled online, and management endeavors to be responsive to guests, including providing access codes for the gated entrance. They communicate important information, such as welcome messages via text on the day of arrival, to ensure a smooth check-in process.
- Long-Term Stay Options: Salado RV Park caters significantly to long-term residents, offering affordable monthly rates (currently $575-$625/Month, plus electricity charges) with options for up to 2 vehicles and pets. This makes it an attractive choice for those working in the area or seeking an extended stay.
- Gated Access and Security Measures: The park implements security measures, including a gated entrance that requires a code, which contributes to a sense of safety and peace of mind for solo travelers and all guests.
- Well-Maintained Sites: Despite the lack of communal bathhouses, the individual RV sites are reported to be well-kept, clean, and well-maintained.
It is important for prospective guests to be aware that the park currently does not offer a bathhouse or laundry facilities on-site. This makes it most suitable for RVers whose rigs are fully self-contained with their own bathroom and laundry capabilities, or those who plan to use external facilities in nearby towns like Temple or Salado.
Salado RV Park boasts several features and highlights that make it a compelling choice for specific types of RVers, particularly those who appreciate peace, nature, and security.
- Quiet, Hidden Gem: Consistently highlighted by guests, the park offers a tranquil and peaceful environment, described as a "quiet hidden gem." This makes it ideal for relaxation and escaping urban noise.
- Mature Trees and Greenery: The presence of "mature trees" provides natural beauty, shade, and a pleasant "country feel," which is a refreshing change from many open, treeless RV parks.
- Safety and Security Measures: Guests feel safe due to "extra safety measures during the initial process" and the gated entrance. This is particularly reassuring for solo travelers.
- Friendly and Responsive Management: While there have been past issues with communication, recent reviews praise the current management for being "kind and thoughtful" and taking "really good care" of residents. Their efforts to address concerns and provide personalized welcome messages are highly valued.
- Good for Long-Term Stays: The park is highly recommended for extended stays, with many residents happily residing there for months or even years, indicating a comfortable and stable living environment.
- Convenient I-35 Access: Despite its quiet nature, the park's direct proximity to I-35 offers unparalleled convenience for travel, making it an ideal stopover point or long-term base for exploring Central Texas.
- Pet-Friendly: The park welcomes pets (up to 2 per site), making it suitable for RVers traveling with their furry companions.
It is important for potential guests to note the absence of a bathhouse or on-site laundry, which means the park is best suited for "self-reliant" RVs. While some found initial entry and communication frustrating, recent improvements in management responsiveness appear to be addressing these concerns.

Salado RV Park Reviews
I stayed at Salado to work near the area. If you are looking for a quiet hidden gem with mature trees close to Temple then Salado RV is a good choice. I will definitely come back, please be mindful that at this location you are self-reliant on your RV. There is not a bathhouse or laundry onsite, but that did not deter me away. I felt safe traveling solo with the knowledge they take the extra safety measures during the initial process.
Jul 11, 2024 · Cne CarlinWe kept getting different directions to this RV Park. It was quite frustrating. When we finally found the place, it was locked up! There just happened be a man walking his dog saw us & offered to give us the code to open the gate. The messages we left earlier in the day were unanswered. The park's company mngrs replied to my low rating with an apology and explanation. They said they never got my voicemails but appreciated my contacting them again the next day. She said reservations MUST be done online! We never saw a single person... lots of RVs. No services- restrooms or showers. Not good for overnighters.
Jun 18, 2024 · Lily GannonHidden gem and very quiet and quaint. Large lots, very shady with easy access to the hwy. We stayed here for 3 nights while in the area visiting friends. No one else had room and/or wouldn't take us due to the 10 year rule. This place, no problem! Very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed our time there. Thank you for having us!
