Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For residents of Alabama, particularly those seeking housing in the vibrant Auburn area, Ridgewood Village mobile home community presents a distinctive option with specific considerations. The primary appeal for many locals, especially students and university-affiliated individuals, is its unparalleled proximity to Auburn University. Being just a five-minute drive from campus and having a direct Tiger Transit stop means that daily commutes are significantly simplified, offering a level of convenience that is hard to match in other housing sectors. This accessibility can free up valuable time for academic pursuits, work, or leisure activities within the local community.
From a financial perspective, while recent reviews indicate significant increases in lot rent, mobile home living can still offer a different value proposition compared to traditional stick-built homes or apartment complexes in Auburn's competitive market. It often provides a sense of community and potentially more living space than many apartments. For Alabamians who already own a mobile home or are considering purchasing one, Ridgewood Village offers a designated place within a desirable location. The presence of amenities like a pool, basketball court, and tennis court, when fully functional and well-maintained, adds value for local residents seeking recreational opportunities close to home. The pet-friendly policy is also a crucial factor for many Alabamians, allowing them to live with their beloved animals, although it is always recommended to confirm specific restrictions. While some public feedback points to challenges regarding amenity maintenance and management responsiveness, for those who prioritize location, a specific type of housing, and a community with diverse residents, Ridgewood Village could be a viable option. Prospective local residents are encouraged to conduct thorough due diligence, including direct communication with management and current residents, to ensure the community aligns with their personal expectations for a comfortable and convenient living experience in Auburn.

Ridgewood Village Reviews
The pool is disgusting. They do not clean it. It’s a safety hazard and it’s the middle of summer and it’s CLOSED!!! Why are we paying so much to live here when our amenities aren’t even available. Plus the algae/mold in the pool is BLACK. And they haven’t said anything about it. I’m so over this place.
Jun 14, 2025 · Maggie LeeWe just bought a trailer within the park . Was told by owners within 3 years of them owning lot rent has gone up $300 , at $710 when they sold it to us. We have now been notified lot rent has jumped again to $795.With lot rent costing a mortgage, we'll be moving our trailer within the next year. Utterly ridiculous and parking is an absolute hazard as everyone is parked at an angle for some reason . With most homes being 3 bedroom, they limit parking to 2 spaces per lot.Not a very good area to walk your dog either in my opinion .I honestly wouldn't suggest the location to anyone looking to buy or rent
Jun 17, 2025 · Gabby GarciaThis is quite possibly one of the worst places to live in Auburn as a college student. The management is terrible. The front office workers are not inviting or welcoming in any way. Lawn management is a joke there given our grass was constantly overgrown, they half the time miss trash bin collection, and the lot rent has skyrocketed. I had a neighbor whose car was towed for no reason (that ridge-wood later had to pay for because they were in the wrong). Ever since they were bought out by haven park communities the place has become a joke. I would recommend other trailer parks and there are 100% some that have lower lot rent.
Jun 17, 2025 · ColeThis mobile home park has gone down to a junky trailer park in the past 4 years. When my daughter bought a mobile home from an individual Ridgewood was very nice , management were super nice and took great pride in the park. At that time it was restricted to Enrolled college students. Apparently the Park sold to some big outfit that now rents to the public the lot rent has doubled to almost $900 a month. The park is infested with ants , the management could care less about safety, the junk piled up around the park, vehicles that obviously are broke down with flat tires, or wrecked and covered with tarps. It’s a mess and will only get worse it’s a shame that the College students are going to suffer because of the poor management, and the new owners allowing it to turn into just another trailer park and doubling the lot rent , which is rediculous for a trailer park. So grateful my grand children have both Graduated from Auburn and will no longer be living there and My Daughter has sold their mobile home and the New Owner has had it moved out .To all of you Parents looking for Student Housing , please don’t put your College Students in this one.
Jun 17, 2025 · Rhonda McgeeI’ve had an amazing experience at Ridgewood! The office is always responsive, professional, and truly caring about residents’ needs. Donta is awesome and handles requests quickly and efficiently. Anytime I’ve needed assistance, they’ve gone above and beyond to ensure everything is taken care of. It’s refreshing to deal with a management team that values its tenants. Highly recommend!
