The park has been a part of the Des Moines landscape for decades, with some reports suggesting its origins trace back to the 1950s, indicating a long-established presence in the community.
The concept of mobile home parks evolved significantly over the 20th century, from early auto camps to structured communities providing permanent or semi-permanent residences. In Iowa, mobile home parks operate under specific state regulations that govern landlord-tenant relationships within these communities, aiming to ensure certain standards of living and fair practices. Understanding these regulations and the park's specific operations is key for anyone considering moving into a manufactured home community.

The area around E 14th Street typically provides a mix of residential neighborhoods and commercial businesses, including local shops, eateries, and essential services such as grocery stores and pharmacies. While specific walkability and public transit scores for this precise address are not widely publicized, locations along main streets in Des Moines generally have some level of public transportation access. Mobile home parks typically provide a set of fundamental services to their residents, primarily related to the leased lot and common areas. While it is always recommended to confirm specific details directly with Radio City Mobile Home Park management, residents can generally anticipate the following:
Lot Rentals: The primary service is the provision of individual lots for the placement of manufactured homes. Residents pay a periodic lot rent for the use of this space.
Utility Connections: Essential utility hook-ups, including connections for water, sewer, and electricity, are typically available at each lot. Residents are generally responsible for establishing their individual accounts with utility providers and covering their usage costs.
Common Area Maintenance: The park management usually oversees the maintenance of shared infrastructure within the community, such as internal roads, street lighting, and general upkeep of common grounds. This helps ensure the park remains navigable and presentable.
On-site or Accessible Management: Most mobile home parks have a management presence, either on-site or readily accessible, to address resident inquiries, enforce park rules, and manage operations. It's advisable for prospective residents to inquire about the accessibility and responsiveness of management.
It is important to note that customer reviews have indicated concerns regarding the frequency of rent increases and the responsibility for repairs, with some residents reporting that owner-paid repairs are sometimes "fobbed off on the renters." These are critical points for prospective residents to discuss and clarify with park management before committing to a rental agreement.
Considering the public information and resident feedback, here are some features and highlights of Radio City Mobile Home Park:
Established Community: The park has a history dating back to the 1950s, suggesting it is a well-established part of the Des Moines community. Long-standing parks can sometimes offer a sense of continuity and familiarity for residents.
Unique Road Naming: A distinctive feature mentioned in reviews is that the roads within the park are named after Hollywood actors of the 1950s. This could lend a unique historical or thematic character to the community.
Affordable Living Potential: Manufactured housing typically offers a more economically viable housing option compared to traditional homes, potentially making homeownership more attainable for many Iowans. While rent increases have been a concern, the initial cost of acquiring a manufactured home and lot rent may still be lower than other housing alternatives in Des Moines.
However, it is crucial for prospective residents to also be aware of the challenges highlighted in customer reviews. These include reports of consistent rent increases, a perception of the park being "trashy" with unaddressed maintenance needs, and concerns about the condition of some older homes and the narrow, potentially "dangerous" roads. The reported difficulty in contacting the owner and the manager's refusal to allow such contact are also significant points for consideration, as transparent communication with management is vital for resident satisfaction.

Radio City Mobile Home Park Reviews
The rent keeps going up $30 every 6-8 months! The place is trashy, and nothing gets updated. The manager refuses to allow anyone to contact the owner, and any repairs that need to be done and paid for by the owner are fobbed off on the renters.
Feb 20, 2025 · Molly RosalesIt's from the 1950s, and I believe most of the trailers are original and most are in a state of disrepair. The roads are named after Hollywood actors of the period, and they also are dangerous and way too narrow. There is trash and debris throughout the trailer court.

BAD MANAGEMENT!! Stray animals and wild animals as in raccoons running all over getting into garbage constantly.. not even a nice place to invite company over!! Lot rent is Way to high!!!
Apr 01, 2017 · Melissa WiestI lived there comfortably for years...I miss it.Home is what you make it.However, since the newer office staff have been added, I feel discriminated against as a Caucasian woman. They state on my record that I was evicted ...SO NOT TRUE..I sold my home to a Hispanic family very cheap, I took a major loss to help them out. I'm LIVID and plan to pursue legal action against management. Their inaccurate reporting about my rental history has caused a major delay in my real life goals.
