Plantation Oaks RV Park, like any accommodation, has its unique characteristics that may appeal to some and be less suitable for others. We believe in providing a balanced perspective, allowing you to weigh the various aspects before planning your stay. Whether you're looking for a quick stopover or a longer-term spot in Augusta, understanding the nuances of a park like Plantation Oaks is key to a positive experience.
Plantation Oaks RV Park is situated at 2285 Plantation Rd, Augusta, GA 30906, USA. This address places it within Augusta, a significant city in Georgia, known for its historical charm, the Masters Tournament, and a growing urban landscape. The park's location on Plantation Road suggests it's within a residential or mixed-use area, potentially offering a quieter environment while still being connected to city amenities.
Being in Augusta, the park benefits from relatively good accessibility via major roads and highways that serve the city. For those traveling from other parts of Georgia, such as Atlanta or Savannah, or from neighboring states, reaching Augusta is generally straightforward. The park’s presence in a "quiet part of town" can be appealing for those seeking a less bustling atmosphere after a day of travel or exploration. However, it's worth noting that the "quiet part of town" aspect can sometimes contrast with the practicalities of maneuvering larger RVs, a point raised in some customer feedback. While general accessibility to Augusta is good, specific navigation within the immediate vicinity of the park, especially with a larger RV, might require careful consideration based on the "very small campground" description.
Based on the nature of an RV park, certain services are generally expected to be available, although the extent and quality can vary significantly. Plantation Oaks RV Park, as an RV accommodation, would typically offer the following fundamental services:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The core service of any RV park is providing designated sites for RVs. These sites would typically include electrical hookups (which, according to a review, might have "odd" connections that "don’t seem to be for campers"), and potentially water and sewer connections. It's crucial for prospective visitors to verify the type and compatibility of these hookups for their specific RV.
- Accessibility to Sites: While offering sites, reviews indicate that maneuvering in this "little plot of land" can be challenging, especially for larger RVs (over 30 feet). This suggests that while sites are available, ease of access to them might be a service consideration.
- Long-Term Stay Options: The mention of a "month" rate implies that Plantation Oaks caters to both short-term and extended stays, which is a common service for RV parks, particularly for those looking for a base in Augusta.
Given the specific feedback, it's important to highlight that the quality and suitability of connections for hookups may need direct verification, and the ground condition of spots ("completely soft mud") suggests potential challenges during certain weather conditions. These are critical aspects of the "services offered" from a practical camper's perspective.
Customer reviews often shed light on the most prominent features and highlights of a location. For Plantation Oaks RV Park, while some aspects might be challenging, others define its character. It's important to present these factually to help potential visitors manage expectations.
- Quiet Location: One positive aspect mentioned is that the park "seems to be in a quiet part of town." For RVers seeking a peaceful environment away from heavy traffic or urban noise, this could be a favorable feature.
- Smaller Campground Size: Described as a "very small campground," this feature can be a double-edged sword. For some, a smaller size might mean a more intimate setting, while for others, especially those with larger rigs, it can lead to maneuverability issues.
- Proximity to Augusta Amenities: Being located in Augusta, the park inherently offers access to the city's various attractions, shopping centers, dining options, and medical facilities. This urban convenience can be a draw for visitors who want to explore the city while having their RV as a base.
- Long-Term Stay Potential: The existence of a monthly rate indicates that the park serves as an option for extended stays, which can be a key feature for those needing temporary housing or working in the area.
However, it's equally important to acknowledge reported challenges, which effectively become "features" to be aware of:
- Maneuverability Challenges: A significant highlight/concern is the difficulty in "maneuvering in this little plot of land," particularly for "campers over 30 feet." This is a critical feature to consider for RV owners with larger rigs.
- Soft Ground Conditions: The description of "spots are completely soft mud" indicates a potential issue with ground stability, which could lead to vehicles getting stuck or "tearing up your camper." This is a practical feature that impacts usability.
- Non-Standard Hookups: The "odd" and seemingly incompatible "connections for hookups" are a crucial point for RVers who rely on standard hookups for their utilities.

Given the specific feedback regarding RV size and hookups, a direct conversation with the management before planning your visit would be particularly beneficial to ensure the park can accommodate your specific needs and avoid any potential issues upon arrival.
For residents of Georgia, especially those in or near Augusta, Plantation Oaks RV Park presents a unique set of considerations as a local RV accommodation option. Its location in a "quiet part of town" within Augusta offers the appeal of a peaceful base while still providing convenient access to the city's amenities, employment opportunities, and cultural attractions. For locals needing a temporary spot for their RV close to Augusta, this could be a functional consideration.
However, it is crucial for local RV owners to approach Plantation Oaks with clear expectations, particularly concerning rig size and site conditions. If you own a smaller RV (under 30 feet) and prioritize a quiet location within Augusta, and are prepared to potentially navigate challenging ground conditions or "odd" hookups, this park might be a viable option for a short-term or even extended stay. It is particularly suitable for those who prioritize proximity to Augusta and its offerings over extensive campground amenities or spacious, easily accessible sites. Blue-collar workers, and indeed all potential campers, should certainly inquire about specific rates and ensure their RV meets any age or type restrictions if they exist, to avoid disappointment, as suggested by a past review.
Ultimately, for Georgians considering Plantation Oaks RV Park, a direct phone call to discuss your specific RV requirements and confirm current site conditions is highly recommended. This proactive step will help ensure that the park aligns with your expectations and provides a suitable place for your RV adventure in Augusta.

Plantation Oaks Reviews
Very small campground. If you have a camper over 30 feet, I would not recommend. Seems to be in a quiet part of town, but you absolutely cannot maneuver in this little plot of land. Connections for hookups are odd and don’t seem to be for campers. Spots are completely soft mud, so getting into a spot will require you to completely tear your camper up. $650 a month for this campground is 100% not worth it
Jan 15, 2025 · Lydia MooringWell I can say right now I would think twice about this Campground I called I have a 30-footer 2013 that's been meant building cap and they had the nerve to tell all your campers too old so I guess this Campground just caters to the Rich and Famous that can have $1,000 campers I guess this Campground is not really for blue collar workers
Mar 14, 2025 · TimHORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!Called made a reservation but had to cancel within 24 hours due to job canceled. Contacted the property which is ran by Pearson's Rental Properties they absolutely refused to refund us the $600.00 we paid when online in their policies NO where does it state that there is a cancellation fee or that they would not issue a refund. Anthony Pearson is the man I spoke with and was completely and utterly unprofessional. It states on their website it is family owened and operated which is untrue Anthony told me it was owned by investors!!! Do not do business with this park. Also every number listed for the property and for Pearson's Rental Properties goes to this mans phone when I asked to speak with someone else he told me No.
Sep 13, 2024 · Charles FergusonHad a last min job opportunity in the area starting days before The Masters Golf Tournament was to start.. I called multiple parks no one was able to accommodate us, or they were trying to WAYYYYY up charge. Terry was able to get us a wonderful, shaded, level spot for as long as we needed at a great price. We were far off the road and really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend getting picnic tables for the lots but this will always be my first call if ever in the Augusta area again.
Jul 17, 2023 · Rebecca MarshallEasy access. Wide interior roads. Level sites. Helpful friendly staff. Grumpy, unfriendly manager. Reasonable price. I will stay again.
