This means breathtaking riverfront views are practically a given, providing a serene backdrop to your camping experience. The address places it conveniently within Savannah, offering easy access to local shopping and dining options, as noted by appreciative visitors. Its proximity to Highway 128 and Highway 57 also ensures relatively straightforward access for RVs of all sizes, though specific directions, especially when crossing the dam, are always helpful to confirm.
Beyond its scenic beauty, the park's location is a gateway to a wealth of regional attractions. Pickwick Lake, renowned for its fishing and water sports, is right on your doorstep. For history buffs, the significant Shiloh National Military Park is just a short drive away, offering a profound and educational experience. Pickwick Landing State Park, with its golf course, hiking trails, and various recreational opportunities, is also nearby, extending the possibilities for adventure. This strategic positioning makes Pickwick Dam RV Park an excellent hub for exploring Hardin County and the wider West Tennessee area, whether your interest lies in fishing, boating, historical exploration, or simply soaking in the natural environment.
Pickwick Dam RV Park, though managed by the TVA, a federal entity, offers a robust set of services designed to ensure a comfortable stay for RVers. These amenities focus on practical needs, contributing to a seamless camping experience.
- Water and Electric Hookups: Every campsite at Pickwick Dam RV Park is equipped with essential water and electric hookups. While specific amperage details (e.g., 30/50 amp) should be confirmed upon booking, the availability of these utilities ensures that your RV remains powered and functional throughout your stay, allowing you to run appliances, air conditioning, and lights without worry.
- Clean and Impeccable Bathhouses: A consistent highlight in customer reviews, the bathhouses at Pickwick Dam RV Park are frequently described as "impeccable." This attention to cleanliness and maintenance ensures a pleasant and hygienic experience for all campers, whether you rely on the park's facilities or simply appreciate the option. They typically include flush toilets and hot showers.
- Dump Station: For the convenience of RVers, a dump station is available on-site. This essential service allows for the proper disposal of wastewater, crucial for maintaining a clean environment and hassle-free travel.
- Boat Ramp Access: Given its prime riverfront location, the park offers a boat ramp. This is an invaluable amenity for those who wish to bring their own boats for fishing, cruising, or enjoying water sports on the Tennessee River or Pickwick Lake.
- Well-Maintained, Flat Gravel Sites: Reviewers often praise the sites for being flat and gravel, indicating they are easy to level your RV on and are well-maintained. This contributes to a stable and comfortable setup for your rig.
- General Store (Reported by some sources): While not explicitly in the provided reviews, some public data suggests the presence of a campground store. If available, this would be a convenient spot for purchasing essentials like firewood, ice, bait, or other camping gear. It's advisable to verify this directly with the park.
Beyond its foundational services, Pickwick Dam RV Park distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that enhance the overall camping experience for locals and visitors alike.
- Direct Riverfront Access and Views: Perhaps the most compelling highlight is the park's direct location "right on the river." This provides stunning views of the Tennessee River and the Pickwick Dam, creating a peaceful and scenic environment. It's perfect for enjoying morning coffee by the water, evening sunsets, or simply observing river life.
- Clean and Well-Maintained Grounds: Consistently praised by visitors, the grounds are described as "clean & well maintained." This dedication to upkeep ensures a pleasant and inviting atmosphere throughout the park, from the campsites to common areas.
- Proximity to Shopping and Attractions: The park's location is close to "all kinds of shopping," which is a significant convenience for campers needing supplies or wishing to explore local businesses in Savannah. Furthermore, its closeness to Pickwick Landing State Park and Shiloh National Military Park offers ample opportunities for recreation and historical exploration.
- Flexibility for Last-Minute Stays: One customer's experience of securing a spot due to a cancellation on a holiday weekend suggests that while popular, the park can sometimes accommodate last-minute needs, highlighting a degree of flexibility. However, given its popularity, booking in advance is generally recommended, especially for peak seasons.
- Dedicated Senior Discount (with caveats): While the park, being federally run, does not honor the America the Beautiful Lifetime Senior pass for a 50% discount, it does offer its own senior discount, as noted by a reviewer. This indicates an effort to make stays more affordable for senior travelers, even if the federal pass isn't fully recognized.

We needed a place at the last minute, and they had a cancellation on a holiday weekend. Right on the river. Grounds are clean & well maintained. Bath houses are impeccable! Close to all kinds of shopping!
May 25, 2025 · Cindy BuchananThe sites are flat, gravel and very well maintained. Water and electric at each site. Though run by the TVA, which is federal, they did not honor the 50% discount for America the Beautiful Lifetime Senior pass. Plus, they charge a $5 booking/registration fee. Cost per night was $35 per night, in May, plus the $5 fee. They gave a $9 senior discount.
Apr 28, 2025 · Juanita ThouinThey have spots available for non-electric tent camping with a firering, picnic table, and a grill. They have an on-site office/camp store where you can buy odds and ins from worms to ice to firewood and almost everything in between. The restrooms with a shower in every bathroom were well maintained and cleaned daily and smelled nice. I only wished they had ac in them, which would have made it very nice while getting dressed after showering.
May 19, 2023 · Jessica AshcraftClean and well laid out. We like the outer ring on the far end because it’s slightly more private. Clean bathroom/showers. Close to the water. Great stay. Only wish they had sewer connections at the sites instead of the dump station at the entrance. Otherwise, perfect!
