Peak to Peak RV Park Introduce
For residents and visitors of Colorado looking for a true mountain getaway that blends small-town charm with world-class outdoor access, the Peak to Peak RV Park in Nederland, Colorado, offers a unique and highly desirable location. Nederland, often referred to as "Ned," is a quintessential Colorado mountain town perched high in the Rockies, serving as an essential stop along the scenic Peak to Peak Highway. RV parks in such central locations are a premium, as they allow travelers to set up a comfortable basecamp with modern amenities while being able to walk directly into the heart of the local culture and surrounding wilderness.
The challenge of finding suitable RV accommodations in areas close to major mountain attractions like the Indian Peaks Wilderness or the vibrant community of Boulder, Colorado, often leads local travelers to seek out these smaller, in-town options. Peak to Peak RV Park fits this niche perfectly. It’s a pragmatic solution for those whose priority is proximity to the town’s shops, eateries, and the famous attractions like the Carousel of Happiness, rather than a resort-style campground with extensive on-site amenities. As RV travel remains a core part of the Colorado lifestyle, places like this park are crucial for facilitating long-term visits and short-term explorations alike, whether you are a 'snowbird' staying for a season or a weekend adventurer.
Prospective guests from across Colorado should note that this park’s character is defined by its small scale and rustic, in-town nature. It operates with a more self-service, hands-off approach, relying primarily on an online reservation system. This style may differ from larger, managed RV resorts, but for many Coloradans seeking simplicity and location, it is exactly what is needed. The availability of daily, weekly, and monthly rates makes it flexible for various travel plans, from a quick weekend hike to an extended stay exploring the entire Boulder County mountain region.
Its strategic location provides travelers with immediate, walkable access to the majority of Nederland’s downtown area. Residents can easily stroll to local conveniences such as the grocery store, laundromat, various small-town eateries, coffee shops, and unique gift shops. It is also exceptionally close to local favorites like the Knotted Root Brewery, which is a major draw for visitors. Accessibility is further enhanced by its placement just off the Peak to Peak Highway (CO-119 and CO-72), one of Colorado's most stunning scenic byways. This highway offers beautiful canyon drives, particularly the route connecting Nederland to Boulder. For RV travelers, the convenience of being on a paved, major route is significant for both arrival and departure, especially during Colorado’s winter months. The park’s central location makes it an ideal launchpad for exploring the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, Eldora Mountain Resort, and other nearby high-country attractions.
- Full RV Hookups: Each site is equipped with essential utility connections. This includes **RV electric hookup**, **RV sewer hookup**, and **RV water hookup** (running water). It is important to note that the electric service is exclusively 50-amp, so 30-amp RVs will require an adapter.
- Running Water Access: While there is a water connection at each site, public information indicates that the water system has been newly updated. Guests should be aware that the configuration may require a splitter or unique setup, based on past experiences.
- Payment Flexibility: The park accepts modern payment methods, including **Credit cards** and **Debit cards**, for convenience during the reservation and payment process.
- On-Site Parking: Designated on-site parking is available for the RVs. Guests should note the sites are generally unpaved, back-in only, and may require some leveling due to the natural mountain terrain, a common feature of high-altitude RV camping in Colorado.
- Flexible Rates: Offering daily, weekly, and monthly rates makes the park suitable for both short-term tourists and long-term stays (including extended stays for a flat monthly fee of approximately $1,100 per month, subject to change and seasonal availability).
- Basic Waste Services: Trash service is provided to keep the small community clean.
- Prime In-Town Location: Its placement is its most valuable asset, offering a **minute's walk** to downtown Nederland, allowing campers to engage fully with the local community without driving.
- Full Utility Hookups: Despite its small size, the park provides the three critical hookups—electric, water, and sewer—which are necessary for a comfortable, extended stay in an RV.
- Family and Pet Friendly: The park maintains **family friendly** policies and is welcoming to **well-behaved and leashed pets**, a key consideration for many Colorado travelers.
- Gateway to the Peak to Peak Highway: Located right on the famous scenic byway, it is a perfect staging area for exploring the central Rockies, including the nearby **Eldora Ski Area** and the vast **Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests**.
- Access to Boulder via Scenic Drive: The close, picturesque canyon drive between Nederland and Boulder is consistently rated as one of the most beautiful drives in the region, making the park a convenient location for visiting both the mountains and the city.
- Rustic Charm: The unpaved, back-in sites contribute to a simple, **rustic mountain camping** feel, which many Coloradans prefer over overly commercialized resorts.

Travelers must be prepared for a small, simple operation (only three spaces, as one review noted, though capacity may fluctuate), which means a higher likelihood of privacy but fewer communal facilities. However, the essential full hookups, which can be difficult to secure in this remote area, offer maximum comfort for the RV itself. For those seeking an effortless way to deeply experience Nederland's quirky culture and use it as a launching pad for mountain adventures, this park is a pragmatic, cost-effective, and perfectly positioned choice. It allows Coloradans to truly live like a local for the duration of their stay.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My family stayed here in our 5th wheel for 4 nights May 8, 2023 to May 12 2023. There is nowhere to check in when you arrive. The park consists of 3 spaces, one of which is occupied by the caretaker. There is one water connection which required the caretaker to go and buy a splitter so that we could hook up to the water. The spaces are back in and very unlevel. The sewer hookup is uphill which made dumping the tank more of a chore than it needed to be. We stayed at this park because there were no RV parks in Boulder, CO. The place was sufficient only because of the water, electric and sewer hook ups. Nederland itself is a great little town and we enjoyed looking around. The canyon drive between Nederland and Boulder is absolutely beautiful.
May 19 · Jodi SmithGreat spot in the heart of Nederland. Newly updated water service as well.
June 20 · Jesse SeaversIt's a Field but it has three spots for RVs and there are water and electric hook-ups as well as dumping black tank area. The Electric does have 50amp. Making reservations is a little iffy, very hard to talk to anyone so Keep calling. I think owner runs business so is quite busy. There is no trash pick up so you might want to lesson your trash load before arrival. There was a young man who showed us where the hook ups were, very nice young man. There is family with kids next door so be aware of that if you are noise sensitive. Didn't bother me but some it might. I'm giving it three stars for few reasons, one the no trash. Not even a dumpster. I think this contributes to people not cleaning up. That and I don't like having to look for business dumpsters to unload trash. Second reason is the communication is poor here. We reserved for two days. Had truck issues so asked if spot would be available since only one RV was here. Was told it be no problem. Then next day told we had to leave in few days. IF we had known beforehand we could have made arrangements for towing our RV to Golden with the truck rather than possibly dealing with Two tows via tow truck as we weren't sure when our mechanic would have our truck ready. So it would be better to have owner communicate Daily with help (or whoever reserves) if spots are taken to prevent such rather than it be up in the air. We have been to several campgrounds and never had issue knowing if there was availability or not and I prefer to not doing things last minute. Other than that, the people are very nice and helpful. It's quiet, nice lake for fishing not too far. Town is small, has a grocery store. Very Peaceful. But Please, at least get a trash can or dumpster. :)
August 09 · Natasha HaseltonThis is not a legitimate RV park by any stretch of the imagination. It is an unmaintained, pothole filled lot with hookups and nothing else.1. Spaces are not level, there are holes and mounds everywhere literally a foot deep and high. I had to use so many leveling blocks and jacks that my rig looked like it was floating, it was propped up so high in the front.2. No trash or recycle option, so you have to let it pile up until you can find a place and pay to dump it.3. RV spaces are all backed up on a trailer park that is also horribly kept and looks like a shanty town. It feels like an unsafe area overall. Really ruins the idea of a mountain view and enjoying nature.4. Prices are heinous for what is offered, $40 a night and over $1k per month. This is regardless of water being shut off half the year, having no facilities for guests, no trash, no wifi. Again, this is just a lot in the ugliest location of Nederland. This "RV park" and the trailer park have the same owner, the owner of Katmandu restaurants and the Katmandu plaza here in Nederland, which are also all in obvious disrepair.A note to the owner: Take some of the money from the obscene prices you are charging and fix up your properties! Slumlords take better care of their property, you are responsible for the worst looking areas of Nederland. You should be ashamed.
October 04 · C JNo water, but charged full price. Electricity stopped working second night. Water construction crew created a muddy mess outside, and mud ended up inside RV. Worst RV campground ever -- wish I could give this place 0 stars.
December 10 · Very Precarious
