Location and Accessibility
Palestine RV Park is located at 410 County Rd 148, Palestine, TX 75801, USA. This address places it just a few miles southeast of downtown Palestine, a charming East Texas town rich in history and known for its beautiful natural surroundings. The park's position on a county road suggests a more rural and quiet setting, away from the direct hustle and bustle of city traffic, which is often a significant draw for RVers seeking tranquility.
While situated on a county road, reviewers note that the park is "not far from town where there are grocery and other shops," indicating that essential services and local attractions are still conveniently accessible. Palestine boasts a variety of historical sites, including the Texas State Railroad State Park, Davey Dogwood Park for scenic drives and hiking, and a charming historic downtown with local eateries and shops. The park's location allows residents to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while retaining easy access to these amenities and points of interest.
Regarding accessibility, some past reviews mention that the road to get there can be "winding" and "poorly maintained," and that the gate might be locked upon arrival, requiring a call to the owners for entry code. This highlights the importance of contacting the park in advance for clear directions and entry instructions, especially when arriving after hours. However, once inside, the secluded nature of the park is often appreciated. The reduced traffic on the county roads is a benefit for those who enjoy walking their dogs or simply taking a peaceful stroll near the park. Overall, the location strikes a balance between serene, natural surroundings and practical proximity to urban necessities, making it a viable option for various RV travel needs in East Texas.

The park's "no frills, small park" approach is, for many, its greatest strength. It’s not about flashy amenities, but about providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for your RV. The focus on privacy, with well-spaced, shaded lots, ensures that you can relax and unwind in your own space, even during the warmer months when the natural shade from abundant trees is a huge advantage. This quiet setting, despite being just a short drive from downtown Palestine, allows locals to truly decompress and enjoy the natural beauty of the Piney Woods.

While accessing the park requires a bit of attention due to the county road approach and the need for a gate code, this minor inconvenience is often outweighed by the seclusion and quiet once inside. For Texans looking to explore the historic charm of Palestine, with its unique attractions like the Texas State Railroad, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, Palestine RV Park offers an authentic East Texas experience. Palestine RV park Reviews
This is a great no frills, small park. The owners Angela and Lonnie are amazing! They helped me to my site and made sure I was pulled in straight and helped with the hookups. They do it for all their guests. There are a few long-term residents, but the rigs look great, and they were all super nice. She has like 5 cute tiny houses that she rents. Lots of trees, which I loved, so plenty of shade. There is a nice laundry room and a small fenced area for dogs. But the county roads that run by there were great to walk my dog. There is not a lot of traffic. Not far from town where there are grocery and other shops. The park is gated, so you get a code that you can use.
May 22, 2025 · Traveling NanaSo, we never stayed there BECAUSE no one called me back for 2 +hours while we were driving from Marshall TX and their online question/reservation form wouldn’t work/send. We got there. Gate locked and again no answer. It’s a winding, poorly maintained road to get way out there anyway.Found a spot at Ponderosa RV close by on spur of the moment with a very gracious couple, Darrell and Linda, who live on site. Life savers! And also full hookups.
Jul 01, 2025 · Diane BeebeWhat a gem in the woods! We were passing through the area and needed a place to stay because of a maintenance issue with our RV. This area is beautiful, but small. I was concerned with accommodating our rig but the very welcoming owners, Angela and Lonny, were so skilled at guiding me in to the spot available. This place is quaint and endearing. Walk your dogs around the small loop and you will see various decorations and improvements that all have their own esthetic! Such a cute place. We will absolutely stay agin when traveling through! 💕
Jan 27, 2025 · Teresa WaltersWe’ve been fulltime RVers for 6 years now. We stayed overnight at this really cool rv camp in Sept 2024. Was very reasonably priced with full hookups and offers a laundry building. Even has cabins and a tiny home rental. If you’re in the area and in need of an overnighter we highly recommend this campground.
