Manufactured home communities often provide an accessible and cost-effective housing solution. Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community aims to offer such an option within the London area. As with any community, understanding both its strengths and areas for improvement is crucial for prospective residents. This article aims to provide a factual and informative overview of Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community, drawing from available public information and resident feedback. Our goal is to help you, as a local user, make an informed decision about whether this community aligns with your housing aspirations in Kentucky.
Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community is located at 180 Southwind St, London, KY 40744, USA. This address places it within the city of London, a key hub in Laurel County, Kentucky. London is situated at the intersection of I-75 and US-25, making it a highly accessible location within the state, especially for those traveling north or south. The community's specific placement on Southwind Street suggests a more residential setting, offering a degree of separation from the direct bustle of major highways. However, its London address ensures convenient access to the city's amenities, including shopping centers, grocery stores, dining options, healthcare facilities, and local schools. The region around London offers natural beauty and recreational opportunities, such as nearby state parks and Daniel Boone National Forest, which can be a draw for residents who enjoy outdoor activities. The accessibility of the location is a practical advantage for daily commutes, errands, and connecting with the wider Kentucky community.
Based on the nature of a manufactured home community, Neighbors of London would typically provide essential services and infrastructure for its residents. While specific, detailed lists of amenities are not extensively available in public snippets, general expectations for such communities include:
Lot Rentals: The community primarily offers lots for rent, where residents can place their own manufactured homes, or potentially homes rented/purchased directly from the community.
Utility Connections: Essential utility hookups for water, sewer, and electricity would be provided at each lot to ensure residents have necessary services.
Property Management: As a managed community, there would be staff responsible for overseeing the park's operations, collecting rent, and addressing resident concerns, including a manager as mentioned in a review.
Road Maintenance: Internal roads within the community would be maintained to allow for safe vehicle access.
It is important for prospective residents to inquire directly about the full scope of services, including details on included utilities, waste management, and any specific maintenance responsibilities of the park versus the tenant.
The features and highlights of Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community, as gathered from resident feedback, paint a complex picture.
Affordable Housing Options: The community offers housing options that are generally more affordable than traditional stick-built homes, with comments indicating competitive rental rates for single-wide manufactured homes.
Newer Homes Available: There is mention of "new trailers to go in," suggesting that the community is introducing newer manufactured homes, potentially offering modern designs and energy efficiency. It is important to note that a press release from Clayton Homes in 2024 mentions breaking ground on a new neighborhood in London, Kentucky, called "The Villages of North Laurel," which will include "CrossMod® homes" (a type of manufactured home blending off-site and site-built elements, eligible for conventional financing and energy-efficient). While this may not be directly tied to "Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community" by name, it indicates a trend of newer, higher-quality manufactured homes being developed in the London area, which could be relevant to the community's offerings or future direction.
However, it is crucial to address the significant concerns raised by current residents:
Maintenance Issues with Homes: Some residents have reported issues with the condition of homes, including rotten wood, particle board flooring, and non-functional AC/heaters, as well as caving decks in homes they purchased within the community. This suggests a need for thorough inspection of any home prior to purchase or rental.
Rent Increases: Residents have noted substantial increases in lot rent over a short period, impacting affordability.
Unfulfilled Promises of Amenities: A promised children's park, cited as a reason for some rent hikes, has reportedly not materialized, and existing recreational equipment like basketball goals are described as unusable.
Security Concerns: There are significant complaints about theft and drug activity, leading to calls for increased security patrols to address crime rates.
Management Concerns: One review suggests a "mean" manager and a lack of respect for residents, alongside a "redneck HOA" description, pointing to potential issues with community management and resident relations.

Neighbors of London Manufactured Home Community Reviews
I bought a mobile home, they didn't tell my the gutters were zipp tied as the wood was rotted, their flooring whoever replaced it used particle boards. We replaced some. Also the ac/heater not working correctly. Their decks are caving in. Among other issues.
Jun 29, 2025 · Melissa SauriniStuff gets stolen from everyone's house on a regular basis, raised lot rent a total of $150 within 2 years, promised park for kids reason for 1 of price hikes. I dont even have kids and there is still no park a year later and both basket ball goals are useless laying on the ground but plenty of money for new trailers to go in and charge $1100 a month for a single wide. Drug users running rampant obviously need security patrol for how many crimes are being committed. Homes of london are basically redneck hoa 10 of 10 dont recommend.
