Mohawk RV - Columbia is a suitable option for locals across South Carolina, particularly for those who frequently travel in their RVs or are seeking a convenient, long-term base in the Columbia metropolitan area. Its primary appeal lies in its exceptional location convenience, especially for South Carolinians who value easy access to major transportation arteries. Being situated directly on Broad River Road and near I-26 means less time navigating challenging routes and more time enjoying their destination. This accessibility is crucial for anyone needing a quick stopover or a continuous base for work or leisure within the state.
For local RVers, the provision of full hookups (water, electric, and sewer) at each site is a non-negotiable necessity, and Mohawk RV - Columbia delivers on this fundamental requirement. While some may find the pricing per night "expensive" for short stays compared to weekly rates, this structure often caters to those looking for more extended periods, which is common for RVers who might be working remotely, relocating, or simply enjoying a longer vacation in the area. The observation that "most that stay here may be permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time" suggests a community built around sustained occupancy, which can foster a more stable and familiar environment than transient campgrounds.
Furthermore, the proximity to Harbison State Forest is a significant draw for active South Carolinians. Having "great trails" for hiking and other outdoor pursuits so close by offers a valuable recreational outlet, allowing residents to easily connect with nature without extensive travel. The convenience of nearby grocery stores like Food Lion also simplifies daily living. While feedback indicates that the office may not always be manned and sites can be close together, the availability of clean bathroom facilities and the ongoing efforts to improve the park (as the site was recently acquired) point towards a commitment to enhancing the resident experience.
In conclusion, Mohawk RV - Columbia provides a practical, well-located, and essential RV living solution for South Carolina locals. It caters to those who prioritize convenience, full hookups, and a base that allows easy access to both natural escapes and urban amenities around Columbia. Mohawk RV- Columbia Reviews
2 stars for location convenience. Other than that, wouldn't recommend. If you don't stay a week, it's expensive per night & not worth the price. Other than having water, electric, & sewer, there was nothing else worth mentioning. No one answers the phone or is in the building to talk to. Seems like most that stay here may be permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time. Close to the road, so can hear traffic. Late one night, the owners? (at the house in front) had their diesel truck idling for about 30 min- an hour. Sites are very close together with some of the "fire pits" right next to the other sites sewer. On a positive note, although we didn't use the bathrooms, I did peek in & they looked clean & felt warm. 2 each of women's & men's with private shower & toilet in one room.
Feb 06, 2025 · Erika CGreat location. Close to Harbison state forest has great trails. The showers need to be checked after guests. Guests don't clean up after using. So sad.Had very little interaction with owners but he was nice.No place to buy supplies on site. But food lion just minutes away.Very quiet and peaceful. No one man's the office.
Oct 21, 2024 · Debbie UfertSome camp sites are huge, and others are tiny. There is no playground, as child free people this didn't matter to us but Littles could get very bored here. The driveways are all pretty rough, mostly gravel and dirt. There's no camp store or office. There's a building labeled office, but it's really just a whiteboard with wifi info and a park map. There are 2 laundry facilities with a total of 6(?) washers and dryers. The new bath house is very nice. There are 2 bathrooms on each side, and all were fairly clean. The pond area is nice and we saw several birds and large fish. Squirrels are very active, too. Convenient to I 26 and Columbia, while very quiet and tucked into some woods. We had no problems with cell or internet. It's mostly long term in the park, but everyone was friendly. Even though the owners appear to live (in the log home) on site we never saw them, or any staff in our 7 day stay.
Nov 25, 2024 · Amanda OutlandMy son and I loved fishing and walking around the pond. Bathrooms were clean, and the showers were great! There were multiple laundry rooms with decent prices, the wifi was okay, and the neighbors were friendly! The only thing we would have liked to see was a playground. It looked like there was one at some point!
Jul 17, 2024 · Kristen PiccioloBeautiful, peaceful site — we stayed for one night on one of the tent sites, and could not have asked for anything else. Plenty of space tucked away behind the pond, lovely views of the surroundings, and no sound from the nearby roads. The hosts were welcoming and open to answering any questions. I was really impressed with the new shower block and the restroom facilities, all were really clean and well presented. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully for a longer stay!
