Mobilaire Mobile Home Park Introduce
Welcome to an in-depth look at Mobilaire Mobile Home Park, a well-established community for manufactured homes situated right here in the vibrant heart of Reno, Nevada. For many Nevadans, mobile home parks represent a compelling and often more affordable path to homeownership compared to traditional site-built homes. Located in Washoe County, Mobilaire offers a distinct residential environment that emphasizes a specific type of community living.
This community, built in 1965, has a history rooted in providing homes for residents for decades, establishing itself as a fixture in the local Reno housing landscape. It features a compact layout, consisting of 47 individual units within a single-story design, fostering a smaller-scale, more contained neighborhood feel. When considering a residential move within the Reno area, understanding the features and setting of a community like Mobilaire is a key step in finding the right fit for your lifestyle and budget.
Choosing a mobile home park involves more than just selecting a structure; it’s about becoming part of a community and finding a home site that offers convenient access to the rest of the city. Mobilaire Mobile Home Park, like many similar properties in Reno, caters to a population looking for a manageable, established residence close to essential amenities, job centers, and local attractions that define the "Biggest Little City in the World."
Mobilaire's location is one of its most notable advantages for Reno residents. The park is conveniently situated at 1280 Gentry Wy, Reno, NV 89502, USA. This address places it in the 89502 ZIP code, which is known for its excellent central positioning within the city, providing quick and relatively easy access to several key areas of Reno.
Accessibility is a significant factor for anyone living in Nevada's Truckee Meadows region, and Mobilaire scores well in this regard. Residents benefit from being close to major transportation arteries. For commuters or students, the proximity to various college campuses is a definite plus. Specifically, the community is a short drive—around five minutes, or approximately 1.9 miles—from the Meadowood campus of Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC). The University of Nevada, Reno, is also reasonably accessible, located about 10 minutes (5.8 miles) away by car, making this a viable location for students, faculty, or staff associated with either institution.
Daily errands and leisure activities are easily accomplished due to the neighborhood's walkability and central positioning. The area has a "Somewhat Walkable" Walk Score, meaning some errands can be completed on foot. More importantly, the park is very close to several major retail and commercial centers.
- Shopping Centers: Mobilaire is within a short walking distance of multiple shopping areas. Pioneer Plaza, Kietzke Center, and Moana East Shopping Center are all located within a half-mile to a three-quarter-mile radius, translating to a walk of 10 to 14 minutes. This means quick trips for groceries, banking, or retail needs are highly convenient.
- Transportation: While the Transit Score indicates that residents will likely want a car due to limited direct transit options, the community is well-connected for driving. It’s situated about 4.3 miles from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, which is about a 21-minute drive, essential for frequent travelers. Downtown Reno is also just an eight-minute, 4.2-mile drive away.
- Healthcare Access: Essential services like healthcare are also close by. Renown Regional Medical Center, one of the region's main hospitals, is only about a five-minute drive (3.1 miles) from the park, providing residents with peace of mind regarding emergency and routine medical care.
As a specific type of housing community, Mobilaire Mobile Home Park provides the necessary infrastructure for its residents. The fundamental services offered by the park are focused on maintaining the community environment and providing the utility connections required for the manufactured homes located on the premises.
While specific luxury amenities common in newer developments might not be present in this established community, the core function is to provide the lot and the maintenance of the shared infrastructure.
Services offered typically include the essentials for community living:
- Lot leasing and community management for the home sites.
- Maintenance of common areas, including internal roads and landscaping for shared spaces.
- Access to all necessary utility connections (water, sewer, electricity, etc.) at each lot.
- On-site or easily reachable management to address community concerns and administrative needs.
When considering a home here, it’s important to research what specific rules and regulations govern the use of the shared space and to understand what is covered by the lot lease versus what is the individual homeowner's responsibility.
The true features and highlights of Mobilaire Mobile Home Park revolve around its status as an established, centrally-located, and relatively compact residential option in Reno.
- Central Reno Location: The most significant highlight is the address on Gentry Way, offering unparalleled convenience to work, schools, and shopping in the South and Central Reno areas.
- Established Community (Built 1965): The park's long history means the infrastructure is mature, and the community dynamics are well-established. This age can also mean a more relaxed, less transient environment than brand-new apartment complexes.
- Proximity to Local Attractions and Parks: Residents are within a short drive of popular outdoor and recreational spots, including Bartley Ranch Park and the University of Nevada Arboretum, offering great options for outdoor recreation and exercise.
- Affordability Potential: Manufactured homes often provide a more accessible path to homeownership compared to the rising costs of single-family homes in Washoe County, making this community a potential gateway to owning a home in Reno.
It is important for prospective residents to conduct thorough due diligence, particularly regarding the community environment. Based on feedback, it is evident that the park's management and tenant relationships have been a point of friction for some residents, with reported issues concerning strict enforcement of rules, perceived favoritism, and neighborhood noise/behavior concerns (such as fireworks, roaming animals, and general neighbor conduct). These factors highlight the essential nature of community governance in mobile home parks and the importance of all tenants committing to a respectful, shared living environment.

- The manager Kimberly I don’t know her last name ,she has called the towed truck on me 4 times because I was out of the red line like 4inches. However her family members are completely outside the fire lanes lines and her friends as well . This lady has poor management skills, has favoritism , no social skills and is not competent to be in charge . I cannot wait to moved as I feel harassed and she has created a hostile and toxic environment around my kids as well . April 07 · Fabiola Gama
