Lewis River RV Park and Country Store

RV park, Bed & breakfast ★3.0

3125 Lewis River Rd, Woodland, WA 98674, USA

3.0
Beautiful spot on the Lewis River but this park needs some serious TLC. This is not a park for the “weekend” camper first off. Most of the spots are filled with year round tenants. Some even planting their own sunflowers???The roads inside the park are pot holey and rooted with tree roots. There is hardly any river access so don’t expect that. No place for pets to exercise. WiFi was spotty. No grass just mowed weeds.Positives- the workers in the store are very friendly and the store is stocked and has hot food.Overall we were disappointed with how the park was cared for. I would not recommend for a weekend trip. - Laci Hunsaker

Lewis River RV Park and Country Store Introduce

For RV travelers and residents across Washington State seeking a scenic and convenient base for either an extended stay or a short retreat, finding a spot that combines natural beauty with essential services is paramount. **Lewis River RV Park and Country Store** offers a unique blend of these two elements, nestled in a beautiful, forested setting right along the scenic Lewis River in Woodland, Washington. This location, situated within the stunning Cowlitz County landscape, makes it an excellent gateway to the region's abundant outdoor recreation, including fishing, boating, hiking, and access to nearby attractions like Mount St. Helens.

The property functions as a versatile destination, categorized not only as an **RV park** but also featuring a **Country Store** and, according to available information, offering services akin to a **Bed & Breakfast**—though the core service is RV accommodation. The park contains a reported **80 RV sites**, spanning over eight acres of forested land.

The atmosphere of the park is defined by its long-term residents and beautiful scenery. While the location on the Lewis River is undeniably a positive, resident feedback suggests that the park heavily caters to long-term tenants, with some campers even setting up gardening areas. Critiques from a short-term visitor included concerns about the park's maintenance, noting **"pot holey and rooted"** roads, **"mowed weeds"** instead of grass, and limited direct river access. Another long-term resident noted a poor T-Mobile signal, but confirmed the **"long-terms here are nice people."** On the other hand, the on-site convenience store receives praise for its friendly workers, stocking of essentials, and availability of **"hot food,"** offering a crucial, highly valued service to all residents. Additionally, the park has had some documented issues with power hookups, but management successfully moved the resident to a riverside site while repairs were pending. Prospective residents, particularly short-term campers, should be prepared for a community primarily focused on extended stays.

This puts the park within an hour's drive of major outdoor and commercial centers in the region, including Vancouver and Portland, Oregon, via nearby I-5 access.

Regarding physical access, the park demonstrates a commitment to basic compliance, featuring:

  • **Wheelchair accessible entrance:** Ensuring smooth entry into the park's main facilities, likely the Country Store and any office/registration areas.
  • **Wheelchair accessible parking lot:** Providing dedicated, convenient parking spaces for those with mobility challenges.

What is Worth Choosing

For RV owners in Washington looking for a long-term, established, and conveniently stocked base near the Lewis River, this park is a choice worth considering. However, it requires setting specific expectations based on the available information.

**The Primary Value: Long-Term Convenience and Community:** The strongest reasons to choose Lewis River RV Park lie in its dual functionality as a long-term residence and an essential retail stop. The park's focus on long-term renters creates a stable neighborhood with **nice people** and provides a consistent base for those working remotely or seeking a year-round place in the beautiful region. The presence of the **well-stocked Country Store** with **hot food** is a massive daily convenience, praised by all visitors. For those planning an extended stay or residing there permanently, the guaranteed full hookups and on-site essentials simplify daily life considerably.

**Managing Expectations:** Prospective short-term campers must understand that this is primarily a long-term residential community, not a typical tourist campground, which explains the less-maintained common areas and limited river access. Furthermore, due to a reported strict refund policy that denied a refund for a family emergency with less than 30 days' notice, and issues with mobile phone signal, prospective residents must confirm all terms and ensure necessary communication channels (like a Wi-Fi-based solution) are in place for their work or personal needs. Ultimately, choosing Lewis River RV Park means prioritizing **long-term stability, on-site convenience, and a scenic, forested setting** near key Washington attractions.
