This facility is not just a traditional RV park; it functions as a versatile accommodation hub, providing options for both the mobile traveler with a recreational vehicle and the visitor seeking the comfort of a short-term rental through their cabin and Airbnb offerings.
The park is strategically positioned to serve as an affordable gateway to the region’s premier attractions. Located a short drive from Lassen Volcanic National Park, Mountain Meadows Reservoir, and the massive Lake Almanor, it is an ideal spot for hiking, fishing, boating, and exploring the historic logging town of Westwood itself. The park aims to simplify the logistical challenges of mountain travel, featuring **Full Hookups** at RV sites, which include electric, water, and sewer connections, ensuring a comfortable extended stay.

While the park offers a budget-conscious starting rate for its RV sites (From $60.00), potential guests should conduct their own research, review the latest information, and contact the park directly to understand the current condition of facilities, especially given varied public feedback. Acknowledging a need for continuous improvement and upkeep, the park’s management is focused on providing core services and accommodation options that allow guests to maximize their time exploring the surrounding "nature wonderland," rather than being confined to their campsite.
Lassen West RV and Airbnb is situated in the historic mountain logging town of Westwood, California, and provides a multi-faceted approach to Northern California accommodation. Functioning both as a dedicated RV park and a provider of managed short-term cabin and mobile home rentals, the venue caters to a wide range of visitors, from long-term "live-in" residents to vacationers planning a few nights of exploration.
The primary offering centers on its expansive RV sites. The park has been highlighted for offering larger-than-average sites—in some cases reportedly averaging up to 8,000 square feet—which is a significant draw for Big Rigs or travelers who haul extra recreational equipment like ATVs and jet skis. The inclusion of full, reliable hookups (electric, water, and sewer) is a key pillar of the RV park's service proposition, aiming for a hassle-free experience for those making a long stopover.
Beyond the RV spaces, the inclusion of **Cabin rental** and **Airbnb rental** options expands its appeal to those who prefer traditional housing while still desiring the close-to-nature setting and community atmosphere of the park. This blend of lodging types makes Lassen West a versatile base for exploring the area, which is rich in history and proximity to major natural landmarks like Lake Almanor and the breathtaking peaks of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Guests planning to stay should be prepared for a rustic mountain environment and should verify the current status of all amenities with management before booking.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This campground/RV park is an utter dump. If that's not enough for you to believe me, then read on...Found an arrowhead on the campsite. The campsite was not cleaned and has a lot of trash from past campers. Lots of rocks that will puncture your tent and not well landscaped unless you're by the bathrooms. They water what looks to be a "common area," lots of utility trucks and workers in and out multiple times a day and night. Showers and laundry rooms are decent $2 to wash that I could see, not sure about drying. The women's restroom has a lock to gain access into it as well as the windows have a thin dark blacked out so nobody can see inside. Not very well ventilated in the building, especially since you can not open the windows without a pepping tom.During our stay, we walked the grounds and noticed a pig in someone's campsite. Caged dogs and chickens. The train tracks run behind the back part. The trains speed through at night once and a couple of times during the day. The internet is not reliable. Better service with Verizon and AT&T.You get what you pay for.
July 17 · Danielle IrwinHorrible experience. To start off with the pictures do not show how much of a dump it is. It’s definitely a little sketchy if you choose one of the cabins. On top of that the service is horrible. Trust me, anywhere else will be better.
September 01 · Brayden LeonhardtGreat place to stay! We did one of the cabins and Mark brushed the snow off the steps and set up our heater before we arrived. It was quiet the whole time, and the town is small and near Chester. I will likely try to stay here every time we come up this area of the Sierra.
December 29 · A. “Baba_Kiboko” JonesI don't know how you could go to any other camp ground than this. The lots are massive and give tons of room to move around, Next it's full hookup though using the bathrooms here is better. And talking about the bathrooms, they are super clean and offer showers AND laundry. The one con of this place is that there is a train track that runs right next to this place, and having one come by in the middle of the night WILL wake you up.If you do come here, I'll recommend bringing mosquito repellent as they are quite active the summer of 2023, and probably cellular data/hotspot. While they do have free wifi, it's not fast enough for streaming videos, or other entertainment. Only really good enough for looking up things around the area and browsing the web. It's a 5/5 place, and would definitely come here if we are near the lake, only if remember to bring a few things.
July 24 · Niko ČimburI reserved a cabin for a trip a few of my friends were planning. I booked 3 weeks in advance. 40 hours before i left for the trip, they calked and canceled my reservation. At first i was told that the guest staying ahead of me had extended their stay. This was not true. It turns out they had workers coming and needed a place for them, so i got booted. Very unprofessional way to operate a business. I for one wont make that mistake again. It left me in a very difficult position. I had to explain to my friends that we didn't have a place to stay that night. We last minute scrambled to find a place and ended up in a nice place, but got gouged on the price due to the last minute reservation. Shame on the management there.
