★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We stayed at KRS campsite #15, while our friends stayed at site #7. Overall, the campground is very well maintained. You can even check out games to play, and the river is close by. Trash stations were conveniently placed throughout the area, and each site comes with a picnic table, BBQ grill at the front, and a fire pit at the back. Our site had full hookups, which was great. The ground at our site was slightly damp but firm—not muddy—and very well kept. We didn’t use the showers or toilets since we had our trailer hooked up, but everything looked clean. Our friends at site #7 had a dry site with a creek running behind it, which was really nice. There are plenty of trees for shade. They also rent cabanas, though I didn’t care for the break wall in front of them. There’s a fish cleaning station available, though we didn’t use it. Wi-Fi is included free for one person per week, which was handy. The town is nearby, and the Giant Sequoias are only about an hour’s drive. Staff were constantly emptying the trash cans, which kept the area tidy.Part of the campground is gated, and while I wasn’t a big fan of wearing wristbands, they do help keep the camp safe.Overall, we had a great time and I highly recommend this campground!
August 18 · Boricua Puert RicoGreat location! We had a blast and plan to stay again. Communication and responsiveness was great. We stayed in the River House and we were very happy with it. Great fire pit area and decently stocked kitchen. The beds seem a bit old and could use an update. There was also a decent amount of dog hair from a previous group that was missed in cleaning. You’re at the river and things get dirty so we simply cleaned it up and enjoyed ourselves.
July 27 · Mike McGeeverVery lovely campground located on the Kern River. The site was in good condition upon arrival and very spacious, fire pit was definitely cleaned before arrival. Bathrooms and showers were very clean as well. We really liked all the shade the tress provided, especially nice in the afternoon heat.We felt a couple of rules were a little too much. Like charging $15 to check-in 2 hours early if the site is available. I have never been charged at a hotel for early check-in. It's a small fee but its just a formality that would make guests feel more relaxed. Secondly, 2 vehicles (regular cars) are not allowed to park in the site together. But an RV that takes the same or more space is allowed. We didn't feel it was fair to the 2nd car since one car had a roof top tent where we slept so by default the other car has to park in the "guest spots" outside of the campground by the check-in booth. The parking outside was also quite crowded thus difficult to find a spot when we are a registered guests there. These things are not deal breakers but our party felt it would make it KRS RV Resort perfect! Overall, we would love to stay there again.
August 21 · Lauren HuWe recently stayed here for the first time and loved it! We saw this campground on a previous visit and thought it looked very nice. The RV spaces were very well maintained and had beautiful shade trees and a few screening hedges which added a little privacy. The staff was exceptional and went out of their way to help us when we had some trouble with our trailer. We will definitely stay here again!
July 27 · Marcy A.We had a wonderful trip to KRS camp James. The property was well kept and clean. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate! Our RV site was big and close to the river which made it fun for the kids. The only issue we had with the campground is that our kids weren’t allowed to ride bikes, scooter or play away from our site after 8 PM. It was still light out and we think kids should be able to play later.
