Interstate RV Overnight Park Introduce
Hello, fellow Virginians! Are you cruising down I-81 and looking for a convenient spot to pull over for the night in your RV? In the heart of the New River Valley, Christiansburg offers a variety of amenities, and for those seeking a straightforward, no-frills overnight stop, Interstate RV Overnight Park might come up on your radar. Located right off the interstate, it aims to provide a quick and accessible place for travelers.
Interstate RV Overnight Park presents itself primarily as a utilitarian stop for RVers needing to rest for a night or two. Its main draw is its immediate accessibility from I-81, making it a functional choice for those on a long journey through Virginia. While it might not offer the extensive amenities or picturesque landscapes of a full-fledged resort, its convenience for a brief stay is undeniable. Reviews highlight that the park is best suited for those prioritizing a quick in-and-out experience rather than a prolonged camping vacation. It's a place where you can pull off the highway, hook up your essentials, and get some rest before continuing your travels. Understanding its primary purpose as an "overnight park" is key to setting appropriate expectations for your visit.
Interstate RV Overnight Park is located at 2705 Roanoke St, Christiansburg, VA 24073, USA. This address puts it in a highly convenient spot for travelers utilizing Interstate 81, which is a major north-south corridor through Virginia. Specifically, it's situated just half a mile east on US 11/460 from Exit 118 off I-81. This makes it exceptionally easy to access directly from the interstate, a significant advantage for those looking for a quick and simple stop without venturing far off their route.
Christiansburg itself is a growing town in the New River Valley, offering a range of services and attractions for travelers. The park's location on Roanoke Street means it’s close to various local businesses, including gas stations, restaurants, and retail stores, providing easy access to any last-minute necessities or a quick bite to eat. Whether you’re heading north towards the Shenandoah Valley or south towards Tennessee, this location serves as a practical waypoint. Its ease of access from a major interstate means that even those unfamiliar with the area can find it with minimal effort, making it a go-to for many passing through Virginia.

- Convenient I-81 Access: The most notable feature of Interstate RV Overnight Park is its strategic location directly off I-81 (Exit 118). This makes it an incredibly practical choice for RVers needing a quick overnight stop while traveling through Virginia, avoiding the hassle of navigating far off the main highway.
- Basic Full Hookups: The park offers essential full hookup services, including water, electricity (30 and 50 amp), and sewer connections. This provides the necessary utilities for RVers to be self-sufficient during their brief stay.

For Virginia residents traveling through the commonwealth, Interstate RV Overnight Park in Christiansburg serves a very specific niche: the need for a basic, quick, and convenient overnight stop. While some reviews highlight concerns regarding pricing relative to amenities, site size, and cleanliness of facilities like the bathhouse and office, its primary advantage remains its immediate accessibility from I-81.
If you're a local RVer on a long haul, perhaps heading south to the Carolinas or north to the mountains, and simply need a place to plug in for the night without detouring far, this park offers that basic function. It's not designed for a leisurely family vacation or a prolonged stay to enjoy outdoor recreation. Instead, it serves as a practical "parking lot" with hookups, providing a safe and readily available spot to rest your head.
Locals who understand this specific purpose – a no-frills, utilitarian stop for an overnight rest – might find it suitable. The reported cash-only policy and concerns about site conditions mean it's essential for Virginia travelers to set realistic expectations and perhaps call ahead for the most current information. If your priority is solely a convenient location off the interstate for a brief overnight stay with basic hookups, Interstate RV Overnight Park could fulfill that immediate need before you continue your journey across our beautiful state. However, if extended amenities, spacious sites, or a pristine environment are high on your list, exploring other options in the wider New River Valley area might be advisable.

Interstate RV Overnight Park Reviews
I'm giving it a 2 because the manage I dealt with was very sweet, kind and nice. Sadly it's WAY TO EXPENSIVE for this place. Tiny sites ... I couldn't even put out our awning..... Was in site 2 and the full time permanent camper next to us in site 1 smelled really really bad too the point you gag yes that nasty ....Like old wet dogs with bowel smells.....$60 cash a night definitely not worth it sad too cause it's very convenient on off 81 but to pay that amount for that tiny of a Graveled spot definitely not worth it
Jun 27, 2025 · Laurie ThompsonEdited to add:As I sometimes revisit my reviews I noticed that 2 of the positive reviews are left by management. Alex Hicks is the park, if you can call it that, manager that we spoke with on the phone initially. If I could give less than 1 star I would. We pulled in and drove to a building we assumed was the office. It was not, instead it was a filthy laundry area with two dirty washer & dryers. Upon further examination there were shower facilities attached on the side of the building. They looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years, absolutely disgusting! Heading back to our coach, we noticed a sign on the laundry/shower building that said office at White House, so off we walked to what I can only describe as something the city should condemn. The SMELL permeating from the house when you stepped onto the porch to knock was overwhelmingly rancid, like someone died. Thankfully no one answered the phone or the knocking and we ended up in a much nicer place.Edited to add: The person I spoke with on the phone initially prior to arrival to get rates said he wanted CASH ONLY for overnight stays. I wonder if the park owners are aware of this.
Jun 07, 2024 · Wander LostZero complaints it was quite till we rolled in with our kids but the manager was really nice and went out of her way to help us obviously it's small but had public bathrooms and laundry water 30 and 50 amp and sewer hookup had everything we had to have in short if your scared to walk outside and meet real people keep driving if your open to new adventures and just looking for a place for a night or two it's perfect
Jun 21, 2025 · William NelsonThis place is a sad excuse for an RV park. Trash and cats everywhere, if you want your area grass cut you better do it yourself. The stray cats climb on and urinate on everything and live under the RV’s. The manager is lazy and rarely around. There is a laundry area but it’s filthy and full of flies. They have raised our rent twice in 2 months and I have seen no maintenance increases. Ridiculous. If I could give it negative stars I definitely would.
May 01, 2024 · Brenda StamperManager will just scam you. Place isn't even worth $20 a night. Better off staying the night at Walmart parking lot. Was told a certain price over phone and demanded something different once I set up. If the owner knew how the place was being managed they would fire them. Sure it's a family situation. It's worth the hour drive to find a different rv spot.
