★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A True Mountain Paradise! My family and I stumbled upon Idaho Springs RV & Campground, and it has quickly become our favorite getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by the most warm and friendly owners you could ever hope to meet. Their hospitality, and their absolutely adorable beagle, made us feel right at home.Beyond the amazing people, this campground is a nature lover's dream. We spent our days watching the buzzing hummingbirds and giggling at the chipmunks stuffing their faces at the "nut bar"—it's these little details that make this place so special. The kids were entertained for hours with tons of fun activities, and it was a lifesaver to find all the supplies we inevitably forgot right there on-site.One of the most important things for us is cleanliness, and Idaho Springs delivered in a big way. The bathrooms and showers were spotless and wonderfully warm, a true luxury after a day of adventuring. We simply can't say enough good things about this place. The combination of a welcoming family, friendly wildlife, and top-notch facilities makes it a must-visit. We will definitely be coming back here for years to come!
September 02 · Pancake ManThis campground was wonderful. We opted for tent site 8, which is a large primitive site that is tucked away up a hill with amazing privacy. I was originally concerned about the proximity to I-70 and the potential for road noise. Turns out it made for great white noise through the night and we almost forgot how close the interstate was. With the current fire ban the owners had propane fire pits for rent, which we took advantage of, and were able to have the full camping experience. The campsites are very spacious with plenty of room for a large tent, seating area, and activities. There is a picnic table provided at each site. The facility itself if very clean and well maintained. The main building houses the shower rooms (4 separate rooms), bathrooms, and convenience shop. The showers and bathrooms are well put together and spacious, the shop well stocked with a variety of options. The showers had good water pressure and the hot water on a chilly evening was great!
September 09 · Lisa FridleyStayed there in early Sept 2025. Very convenient to get on/off I-70 and very convenient to go into Idaho Springs (2 min? down the road - very quick.) Showers were clean and my wife loved the fact that they're all individual shower rooms. For the RV, electric, water, sewage dump at the site and table, fire pit - all as easy as you would want. Everything was great here.
September 11 · Tom DuganI camped here this weekend with my 6 yo son and I cant recommend it more! The owners are wonderful and kind. The bathrooms warm, nice and clean. They have a little area for kids called "the enchanted forest"and my kiddo LOVED IT. She recommends a waterfall and gives coordinates in the welcome packet and WOW it was gorgeous there. Close to all the fun activities in the area. They even have a movie night! 1000/5. Highly recommend!
September 01 · Nikol ByrneNew campground that afforded us the ability to be in the mountains but centered between Denver and other attractions that were more west. We used this park for just shy of a week.Couple things that one might wonder: yes, it is right off the highway. It allows for simple access but there is noise; you are trading a state park atmosphere for convenience and full hook ups. It is small enough to be enjoyable. Sites are relatively backed up to one another but again, this was a convenience factor for location for us so we were not using the picnic table or anything. In fact, sites on the north side had their fire rings behind the spots which afforded more space to sit and hang out.Couple of tips: follow their directions to the park from their check in e-mail. Do not follow Google directions.Water pressure is a little off, depending on the site. Our first site had what seemed to be excellent pressure. Our second site had awful pressure, I think it was more of an issue with the spigot though but something to consider. We ended up using our tank and pump the entire time.Actually click their check in e-mail's link and check in before arrival. This is something that I am not used to based off of state and federal systems, or even some private resorts. Idaho Springs clearly uses some sort of algorithm system from a booking provider that will move your spot up until check in based on availability/other bookings. We were slated for spot 14 and I checked daily up until the day before arrival. That day before arrival I got an email asking to check in... I didn't click it because we were not there yet (they ask you to check in by phone or website only). After getting there, assuming I was in 14, and getting set up, I clicked through only to find that the system moved us to 11. Our fault for not checking... don't make our mistake.Great park though and will stay again. Bonus that they went all mulch in between sites so they wont have to upkeep grass.
