Hwy 97 East RV Park is conveniently located at 1717 TX-97, Pleasanton, TX 78064, USA. For Texans familiar with our state's vast highway system, this address immediately signals excellent accessibility. TX-97 is a prominent state highway, making it easy to find and reach the park whether you're arriving from San Antonio, Corpus Christi, or other parts of South Texas. Its position directly on a main highway is a double-edged sword: it offers unparalleled convenience for travelers who want to pull off the road and set up camp quickly, without navigating complex residential areas. This direct access is particularly beneficial for those undertaking long journeys or needing an easy stopover for a night.
Pleasanton itself is a vibrant community in Atascosa County, often referred to as the "Birthplace of the Cowboy." This historical significance adds a unique local flavor for visitors. Being in Pleasanton means you're close to local amenities such as grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and medical facilities, ensuring that all your essential needs are within easy reach during your stay. While the park is situated on a main highway, which implies some level of traffic noise, its straightforward access minimizes travel time and reduces the stress of arrival and departure, especially for larger RVs.
For those looking to explore the wider region, Pleasanton's location provides a gateway to other South Texas attractions. San Antonio, with its iconic Alamo, Riverwalk, and rich cultural scene, is a relatively short drive away, making day trips a feasible option. The park's accessibility also benefits those who are working in the area, offering a practical and convenient base for extended stays. The ease of getting in and out of the park, even with a large rig, is a significant advantage, particularly for transient visitors or those with tight schedules.
RV Hookups: The park provides essential hookups for RVs, which typically include electricity, water, and sewer connections. These are fundamental services for any RV park, allowing residents to operate their appliances, access fresh water, and manage wastewater efficiently. While the specific amperage of electrical hookups (e.g., 30 amp or 50 amp) isn't detailed in the provided information, standard RV parks generally offer options to accommodate various RV power requirements.
Long-Term Stays: Based on customer reviews, it appears that the park accommodates both short-term and potentially long-term residents. This flexibility is valuable for individuals working in the area, or those looking for an extended stay without the commitment of a permanent residence. The availability of long-term options can significantly reduce the hassle of frequent moves.
On-Site Management: While not explicitly detailed as a service, the presence of an owner or manager is indicated by customer reviews. An on-site presence can be beneficial for addressing immediate concerns, facilitating check-ins, and generally overseeing the park's operations. A friendly and helpful owner, as mentioned in one review, can greatly enhance the overall experience.
Basic Parking Facilities: The primary service of any RV park is providing a designated, safe place to park an RV. Hwy 97 East RV Park fulfills this core requirement, offering spots for vehicles of various sizes. While not described as luxurious, the fundamental provision of a parking space with necessary hookups is a key service.
Utilities: The provision of water, electricity, and sewer lines directly at each site is a standard and essential service. These utilities ensure that RV owners have the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay, whether for a single night or an extended period. The presence of these hookups means self-contained RVs can function optimally.
Convenient Highway Location: One of the most significant features of Hwy 97 East RV Park is its direct access to TX-97. This makes it incredibly easy for travelers to pull in and out, reducing the stress of navigating complex roads. For those on a road trip across Texas or needing a quick stopover, this accessibility is a major plus.
Owner Responsiveness: According to customer feedback, the owner is described as "very friendly and helpful." This personal touch can make a substantial difference in a guest's experience, providing a sense of welcoming and support that might be lacking in larger, more impersonal facilities. A responsive owner can address issues promptly and assist with specific needs.
Quiet Atmosphere (in certain areas): While the park is on a main highway, one review notes that a specific section, "the one that is facing 97 now," is "mostly paved quite." This suggests there might be different areas within the park, with some offering more tranquility despite the proximity to the road. This can be a highlight for those seeking a more peaceful stay.
Practical for Short Stays: The park is identified as "Ok for a one night stay while traveling through the area." This highlights its suitability for transient visitors who need a reliable place to park overnight with essential hookups without requiring extensive amenities or recreational facilities. It serves its purpose efficiently for those on the go.
Proximity to Pleasanton Amenities: Being in Pleasanton means easy access to local services and attractions. This includes grocery stores, dining options, and other necessities that make an RV stay more convenient. For those needing to resupply or enjoy a meal out, the local proximity is a definite advantage.

For Texans on the road, whether for work or leisure, finding an RV park that offers practical solutions and convenient access is often a top priority. Hwy 97 East RV Park, located in Pleasanton, TX, presents itself as a functional and accessible option particularly well-suited for a variety of local needs. While it might not boast the extensive recreational amenities of a resort, its strengths lie in its straightforward approach and strategic location, making it a fitting choice for many Texas residents.
Firstly, its position directly on TX-97 is a significant advantage for local travelers. For those frequently driving between major Texas cities or needing a quick, no-fuss stopover, the ease of access is unparalleled. You can pull off the main highway, get settled, and be back on your way with minimal deviation. This is especially beneficial for truckers, traveling professionals, or even families on a long weekend trip across the state who prioritize convenience over elaborate facilities. The straightforward access means less time spent navigating unfamiliar roads and more time enjoying your destination or resting up for the next leg of your journey.
Secondly, the park's focus on essential services – reliable hookups for electricity, water, and sewer – caters directly to the fundamental needs of RV owners. It provides a stable and functional base, ensuring comfort without unnecessary frills. The park appears to serve as a practical, no-nonsense solution for a comfortable and convenient stay.
Furthermore, the reported friendly and helpful owner adds a personal touch that resonates with the hospitable spirit of Texas. In a world increasingly dominated by automated services, having a responsive and approachable owner can make a substantial difference in addressing immediate needs or simply making a guest feel welcome. This personalized attention can transform a routine stop into a more pleasant experience.
While some reviews note a more "run-down trailer park" feel or issues with certain areas, the park’s overall suitability for "one-night stays while traveling through the area" is consistently highlighted. This reinforces its utility as a practical pit stop for locals on the move. For Texans who value efficiency and direct utility, rather than seeking a vacation destination with extensive amenities, Hwy 97 East RV Park fulfills a critical niche. It's a place where you can reliably hook up, rest, and prepare for your next Texas adventure, all within the familiar and accessible landscape of South Texas.
In conclusion, Hwy 97 East RV Park is a pragmatic choice for Texans who appreciate convenience, essential services, and a no-frills approach to RV parking. Its highway accessibility, basic yet crucial amenities, and potential for a quiet stop make it a viable option for various local needs, from quick overnight stays to potentially longer-term functional parking in the Pleasanton area.

Ok for a one night stay while traveling through the area. Not good for leisurely stay. This park is more of a run down trailer park. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Overpriced for the area and atmosphere.

Aug 07, 2024 · Schneider ChadI was pretty annoyed when I asked the manager what he was renting and the deposit was for the small trailers for rent in the park. The first thing he told me was I'm not sure you could afford it. I am a female so this might have thrown him off a little but I make over $30 an hour and run heavy equipment. So that was a big mistake. I take my business elsewhere. As a Christian man Church going I thought you weren't supposed to judge right off the bat.
Mar 18, 2021 · Heidi RogersRoute 97 is a truck route and a bit noisy at night. Site I had was only big enough for my vehicle and cost was 45$ a night. There are no washrooms, although there is a coin laundry in the Park. Wifi was poor, but probably being blocked by an adjacent vehicle. Friendly manager.
