This overview aims to provide a factual and informative perspective on what individuals might expect from this mobile home park, drawing directly from publicly available resident feedback. For anyone exploring housing options in Shreveport, understanding the experiences of others can be a valuable part of your decision-making process.
For those in Louisiana seeking mobile home accommodations, factors such as location, quietude, and the responsiveness of management are often key considerations. Huntington Mobile Home Park has been noted for its location and a generally quiet environment by some residents. However, recent and detailed accounts from individuals living there highlight significant challenges regarding property conditions, maintenance responsiveness, and management interactions. It’s crucial for potential residents to weigh these varied experiences when evaluating Huntington Mobile Home Park as a prospective home.
What defines the living experience at Huntington Mobile Home Park in the Shreveport mobile home market? Resident reviews suggest a complex picture. While some aspects like the location and relative quietness are appreciated, a consistent theme in recent feedback revolves around difficulties with maintenance, the condition of the homes upon move-in, and the overall management approach. These are critical elements of any residential community, and prospective residents should be aware of these reported issues.
Specific concerns raised by residents include delays in addressing maintenance requests, such as lack of a refrigerator upon move-in or issues with appliances and plumbing. There are also reports of homes not being fully ready for occupancy at the time of move-in, requiring residents to manage repairs themselves or wait extended periods for park-initiated solutions. The reported difficulties in communicating with property management, including unreturned calls from the corporate office, suggest a potential challenge in resolving issues once they arise.
Furthermore, more serious allegations have been made regarding management practices, including claims of racial discrimination, unlawful eviction attempts, and arbitrary rent increases. These are severe accusations that, if true, point to significant problems within the park's operations and tenant relations. While these are allegations from specific individuals, their detailed nature suggests that prospective residents should exercise due diligence and seek clarification on park policies and tenant rights.
The reported condition of the mobile homes themselves, described by some as "old and not up to par with safe healthy living conditions," is another critical area of concern. Issues such as damaged porches and the overall state of the units directly impact residents' safety and quality of life. For Louisiana locals, particularly those on fixed incomes or with physical limitations, understanding the true condition of a unit and the park's responsibility for upkeep is paramount before committing to a lease.
Ultimately, Huntington Mobile Home Park presents a housing option in Shreveport that, according to resident feedback, comes with both potential advantages like location and quiet, and significant challenges related to property condition, maintenance, and management practices. For any Louisiana resident considering this park, a thorough investigation, including direct communication with current residents if possible, and careful review of lease terms and tenant rights, is strongly advised to make an informed decision.

These include allegations of persistent maintenance delays, units not being move-in ready, and challenges in communicating with management. More critically, the park faces severe allegations of discriminatory practices, unlawful evictions, and unsafe living conditions, which are deeply concerning. For any Louisiana local, understanding their rights as a tenant and the potential legal implications of these claims is paramount.
Given the detailed and consistent nature of the negative feedback, especially regarding tenant relations and property upkeep, it is strongly advised that any interested local resident conduct extensive due diligence. This should include personally inspecting any prospective unit thoroughly, requesting written documentation of all agreements and promised repairs before moving in, and, if possible, speaking with current residents to gather firsthand accounts of their experiences. Consulting with tenant rights organizations or legal counsel to understand their rights in Louisiana might also be prudent if serious concerns arise.
In summary, while Huntington Mobile Home Park offers mobile home living in Shreveport, Louisiana, its suitability for local residents is contingent upon a clear understanding of the significant challenges reported by its tenants. For those willing to navigate these complexities and ensure all agreements are clear and adhered to, it remains an available housing choice within the region. Huntington Mobile Home Park Reviews
Part of the reason for our reviews are so that other consumers know what to expect if they decide to proceed with their interactions with the businesses we review. Therefore, I decided to re-review my original post to elaborate more on why I gave the original rating that I gave. The two stars I rated the mobile home park are due to the location of it as well as the peace and quiet. However, dealing with management and staff here have not been a pleasant experience.I moved in just under a month and a half ago. Everything that I speak of during this review was reported as soon as the problem was identified. Most of the list are things that should have been addressed prior to my move in. I reported immediately that I had no refrigerator, it took 7 days for them to deliver me one. There was someone cleaning my trailer the day of my move-in and the things that they should have them cleaning, they don't, I'll post before and after pics of my stove shortly. All the trash on the outside of the trailer was left for me to clean up. I forgot to take pics before I cleaned it up. Ninety-eight percent of the time the property manager never does what they say they will do when they say it will be done...unless they are out sourcing the job beyond immediate employees. Immediate employees are quick to tell you what they are not going to do or what their job IS NOT. I wa handed drip pans on yesterday to install myself, mainenance. This past weekend I had family come from out of town. One of my eyes caught fire nad another one somked so bad it took all night to clear the smoke and burning smell. Of the list submitted, a month and a half later half of the list is still incomplete. It took over a month for them to get someone out here to stop a running toilet. I am still waiting on someone to come out to assess the severity of the damage to the porches, and it is bad. Maybe they're waiting for someone to injure themselves before something is done.....or maybe it retribution for being out spoken 🤷🏾♂️.There was a mentioning positive experience. Jason is great with the work he does on the a/c units.Corporate office will not take your phone calls or respond to mailed correspondences. I have more, but you get the hint. So, should you decide to rent even after this review, my advice to you would be to make sure ALL work is done BEFORE move in....or good luck getting it done.
May 12, 2022 · M SThe property manager is racist. The owner does not get involved or care about the tenants. The trailers are old and not up to part with safe healthy living conditions. I paid first months rent and deposit the trailers was not ready for move in. Even after move in repairs still was not done. For 4 months I constantly got excuses on why repairs haven’t been done. They have one maintenance man with no help. In May I communicated with property manager and maintenance man about holding rent til repairs are done instead of just fixing it. She illegally evicted me, changed the locks while I was in the process of moving. Locked herself in the house and I had to call the police to gain access to get the rest of my property. At that point the police reviewed all the paper to find the whole eviction was illegal. The went through and took my belongings. Not to mention she raise May’s rent by $1500 with a clear explanation or proof of the fees. Property manager enforced made up rules that only applied to black people. Another tenant is now also black going through the same thing. We are currently in the process of filing lawsuits for slumlord violations, unhealthy living conditions, unlawful evictions.
Aug 02, 2023 · Crashunna MageeI love it over here it's absolutely NOT a rundown park AT ALL. It's and quiet and safe environment. The landlord Sarah works very hard trying to make sure EVERYONE is taken care of over here. I been here almost 2 years and i haven't had any issues. I love it here😁
Jul 06, 2021 · Brandi FosterWas a more decent park long ago when park management enforced rules and required all residents to abide and keep their places up.Now they dont though. They care only about getting and keeping the rents. Meanwhile the water system fails regularly, the streets are bad and they will not repair things in a timely manner. It has gone way, WAY downhill, while their prices have only gone up skyhigh. Criminal.
Aug 07, 2017 · H BrillAbsolutely horrible place to live!!! The trailer my son is renting has MAJOR electrical problems and it's always an excuse, and NEVER AN ACTUAL BUSINESS CALLED TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS! It's always been just someone the manager knows! When asked for the main management number, the park manager says she can't give it out! You have to mail your payment to some address out of state, when you google the address there is no business there and no phone number!
