Hunters Mountain

1000 Hunters Mountain Pkwy, Troy, AL 36079, USA

3.0
If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. Living at Hunters Mountain has been one of the most frustrating, disappointing, and borderline scammy rental experiences I’ve ever had. From day one, this property has been a complete nightmare and I strongly urge anyone considering living here to RUN in the opposite direction. Do not be fooled by the pictures or the promises they make when you tour—it is all smoke and mirrors.Let’s start with the management, which is an absolute disaster. The staff is completely unorganized, unprofessional, and borderline negligent. Getting anyone on the phone is almost impossible. Emails go unanswered, and when you do manage to get someone to talk to you, they either have no idea what’s going on, give you the wrong information, or promise to “look into it and get back to you”—spoiler alert: they never do.The biggest issue? They will manipulate your lease and try to squeeze extra money out of you. I signed a 12-month lease, but when it came time to review the end date, I realized they had sneakily added an extra month without any notice. There was no updated lease sent out, no conversation, no notification—nothing. They literally just assumed they could alter my lease terms as they pleased. That is not only dishonest, it’s unethical and possibly illegal. What kind of professional property management company changes a lease and doesn’t think they need to inform the resident? If it wasn’t for me catching it, I could have been charged for a month I didn’t agree to.And when I brought this to their attention? Of course, they played dumb. No one “knew” what happened. No one could find the lease. No one had an explanation. They’ll do everything they can to avoid accountability, and trust me, they will try to place the blame on you for their mistakes. I’ve never encountered such incompetence mixed with arrogance in a management team before. Also, good luck getting maintenance to respond in a timely manner. There are constant issues with the units and when you report them, you’re either ignored completely or forced to wait weeks for someone to come out—if they come out at all. It’s clear that once they have your money, they could care less about providing livable conditions or basic customer service. To top it off, the community itself is not well-maintained. Trash pickup is inconsistent, the grounds are messy, and security is minimal. For the amount of money they charge in rent and fees, you’d expect at least the bare minimum. But no, all you get is stress, confusion, and an unshakable feeling that you’re being taken advantage of.Bottom line: This property is a scam. They do not care about residents. They are unorganized, rude, and dishonest. Save yourself the mental and financial headache and look elsewhere. Hunters Mountain should be ashamed of how they treat people. Don’t fall into the same trap I did. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Tell your friends, your coworkers, your classmates—anyone looking to move—AVOID HUNTERS MOUNTAIN! - Zanesha Jackson
