Hoofers RV Park has garnered a range of feedback from previous visitors, and it's important for prospective guests to be aware of these perspectives. We will detail its location, the basic services it offers, and some prominent features that have been highlighted by those who have stayed there. While some elements may be perceived as challenging by certain travelers, other aspects, such as its proximity to local amenities, might be beneficial for others. This article is designed to help you, as a local RVer in Georgia, make an informed decision about whether Hoofers RV Park aligns with your specific travel needs and expectations.
Hoofers RV Park is located at 3472 Hogansville Rd, LaGrange, GA 30241, USA. This address places it within the city limits of LaGrange, a significant town in Troup County, Georgia. For RVers traveling through or planning a stay in West Georgia, LaGrange serves as a convenient stop, being accessible from major interstates like I-85.
However, feedback regarding accessibility at Hoofers RV Park has highlighted some potential challenges. Previous guests have noted that the signage leading to the entrance can be confusing, which, combined with tight maneuvering for longer rigs, might create difficulties upon arrival. It is advisable for those with larger RVs to plan their approach carefully and potentially use satellite views to orient themselves before arrival. Despite these reported navigational challenges, the park's location within LaGrange does offer a practical advantage: it is less than five minutes from a local mall, providing convenient access to shopping, dining, and other essential supplies. This proximity to urban amenities can be a significant benefit for long-term residents or those needing to restock during their travels through Georgia.
Based on available public information, Hoofers RV Park provides fundamental services for RVers, focusing on the core necessities for a stay.
Full Hookups: The park offers full hookups, including connections for water, electricity (with 30 and 50 amp service available for various RV types), and sewer. This provision is standard for RV parks and ensures that campers have access to essential utilities directly at their site.
On-Site Laundry Facilities: A key convenience highlighted by guests is the presence of on-site laundry facilities. This amenity is particularly valuable for travelers, especially those on extended trips or long-term stays, as it allows them to manage their washing needs without leaving the park.
Wifi: The park lists free WiFi as an amenity. While performance can vary at any RV park, the availability of internet access is a modern necessity for many travelers.
Dump Station: In addition to sewer hookups at some sites, the park also has a dump station available for waste disposal.
Hoofers RV Park possesses several features that define the experience for its guests, based on direct customer feedback.
Proximity to Local Amenities: One of the most consistently noted advantages is the park's location. It is less than five minutes from a local mall, making it highly convenient for accessing shopping, restaurants, and other services. This closeness to urban conveniences is a major plus for those who prioritize ease of access to supplies and entertainment.
On-Site Laundry Facilities: As mentioned in the services section, the availability of a laundry mat with washers and dryers is a significant convenience that has been positively highlighted by guests. This feature is practical for all RVers, especially those on extended stays.
Train Tracks and Associated Noise: A very prominent feature, and one frequently mentioned in reviews, is the close proximity to active train tracks. Guests should be prepared for train horns and noise "all through the night." This is a significant factor to consider for light sleepers or those seeking a very quiet environment.
Parking Challenges: Previous visitors have noted issues with vehicles, including neighbors' trailers and trucks, being parked in roads, making it difficult to maneuver and exit sites. This suggests that navigating the park, especially with larger rigs, may require extra patience and coordination.
Community Aspect (Potential for "Drama"): One review humorously, yet pointedly, mentioned that if you "love drama" and "want to know your neighbors," this might be the place. While subjective, this suggests a very close-knit, and potentially eventful, community dynamic, which can be a pro or con depending on individual preferences.
Presence of a Church On-Site: The front office of Hoofers RV Park has a church attached. While this might be a positive for some, a review indicated that morning thumping at 9:30 AM and congregation parking could add to noise and parking challenges, particularly for those working night shifts or seeking to sleep in.
Pest Control Concerns: One review specifically mentioned an "invasion" of ants in both trucks and campers, indicating potential issues with pests that guests should be prepared to address.

For RVers residing in or traveling through Georgia, Hoofers RV Park in LaGrange presents a very specific set of characteristics that make it suitable for a particular type of guest. Its primary suitability for locals often comes down to its practical location and perceived affordability. The park's close proximity to the mall and other LaGrange amenities is a significant advantage, providing easy access to necessities, dining, and shopping without requiring extensive travel. For those whose work or personal commitments keep them in the immediate LaGrange area, this convenience can be a deciding factor, especially for long-term stays. The on-site laundry facilities are also a highly practical amenity that simplifies daily living for extended residents.
However, prospective guests, particularly those from Georgia accustomed to more serene or highly managed RV parks, must weigh these conveniences against the frequently reported challenges. The pervasive train noise, potential for crowded internal roads due to parking, and the general aesthetic described by some reviews as "sketchy and trashy" are crucial considerations. While one reviewer mentioned "you get what you pay for" and used it for 16 weeks due to job site proximity, this underscores its utility for specific, often work-related, long-term stays where location and basic amenities outweigh aesthetic appeal or tranquility. For those seeking a quiet, pristine, or easily navigable campground experience, especially for leisure, other options in Georgia might be more suitable. Ultimately, for the Georgia RVer who prioritizes location, basic utility hookups, on-site laundry, and potentially a lower cost for an extended stay, and who is prepared for a more industrial and bustling environment, Hoofers RV Park could serve its purpose. However, a personal visit to assess the current conditions is strongly recommended to ensure it aligns with individual expectations.

Hoofers RV Park Reviews
I would not stay here again. If you’re traveling through Atlanta, it’d be better to go out of your way to find another campground.1.) the signage makes it very confusing on where the entrance is, and if you’re in a long rig, it will be very annoying to move around.2.) there are train tracks literally right next to the campground, and you will hear horns all through the night.3.) this place just looks sketchy and trashy. I did not feel safe. There’s junk cars and trash all over the place. I’m not sure why they bothered asking the year of our camper when there are dilapidated campers all over this lot.Michelle on the phone was nice, but based off the website, I feel very misled. I should’ve paid closer attention to the other reviews that were left.I know other reviews have said you get what you pay for, but I’ve stayed at plenty of low cost campgrounds. We live in our set up following my husband’s work. And this is, by far, the worst place we’ve stayed at.
Mar 28, 2024 · Meghan HewittThe two best things about this place is less than 5 mins from the mall and the on-site laundry facilities. If you really want to know your neighbors, like drama and don’t mind horn alarms at 6am and trash dump pickup at 5am and love trains, this is the place for you. Look at google maps of park and RR tracks, ALL thru the night with horns. The owner believes in quantity and not quality of lot size and I now understand why other parks ask for year of camper. I understand everyone needs a place to live, but there needs to be rules and enforced. We left suppose to be a week, took our camper , let the office know of our plans. Our plans changed and after a 3 days had to come back only to find someone had parked their truck in our space and we had to track them down and wait 2 hours for them to arrive to move their truck. Before our final pull out, we told the neighbors we were pulling out in morning and asked them to move their trailer. So the roads are used as parking spaces and you have to prepare to pull out. They didn’t. Luckily another route opened. We spend 42 weeks a year in our RV, travel the country , commercial contractors, doing this for 16 years, worst park we have encountered. Right at 16 weeks here, just because location to our job site and we working 16 hour days. You get what you pay for. Oh did I mention the ants? OM gosh, invasion in both trucks and camper. Now if you are a church goer, the front office has a church attached. Nothing wrong with church, don’t prepare to sleep in or work night shift , thumping at 930 am and congregation parking adds to the auto parking catastrophe. Now I cannot deny or confirm of illegal activity, but suspicions are there as well as weekly local police enforcement . Good luck if you stay here.
Oct 15, 2021 · Marsha GoodmanAt $30 a night, this place is the RV park equivalent to fast food. If I want steak and lobster, I'll pay $65 for KOA. But for our one-night stay, we can't complain too much. Are the spots a little tight? Yes. Is it by the train tracks? Yes. But the manager called us back within minutes and also texted to confirm which sites were available. The hose lines were insulated/heated in November, and the place has amenities. I've stayed in parking lots that cost more than this.
Nov 27, 2021 · Andrew LeeThe young lady running the place is professional and nice, not to mention prettyThis rv park is perfect for the working class
Jan 17, 2025 · Don “Fishtail” ShellmanIt is difficult to rate this RV park. The receptionist (if you can find your way to the office) was super friendly and it was nice to see somewhat solid Christian books and literature in the onsite church lobby. The RV site we stayed at was not well maintained, with some garbage left on the ground next to the hookup area. The park has area lights but they were not operating. Way finding is a challenge, as the park is part of a complex of businesses, church, RV park, etc., and signage is limited. Most spots were occupied by full timers. I would not chose to stay there again, but apparently others come back every year.
