Forbes Landing RV Park Reviews
We really enjoyed our stay at Forbes Landing RV park. The camp host Joyce was very polite accommodating. I enjoyed it when we got to visit a couple times as it helped in getting to know her. ❤️Bathrooms were nice and clean and kept up. The park was nice and quiet to stay at. Sometimes you could hear planes flying over from Forbes air base, but we enjoyed that part to. Especially during the air show. We loved the convenience of the park being in a good location for laundry, dining and shopping needs and for family visits. I definitely recommend staying at Forbes Landing RV Park for your future camping trip. Thank you.
Dec 22, 2024 · VickiI hate to say it but we were ready to go the second we pulled in. We stayed here a week and a couple of days. We had some issues when we were trying to book with them and that made us hesitant but the park was so close to my husband job that we went ahead with the stay anyways. A few days into our stay we got a text saying that they had overbooked and that someone from our party (4 campers) would have to pull out and go somewhere else. Joyce was kind when she stopped at our camper but wasn’t very transparent about their refund policy with someone else from our party. she ended up getting charged double the amount that the rest of us were charged with.. feels morally wrong to me. This park is not big rig friendly!! We were put into a tight position as we pulled in, and as we pulled out there were low hanging trees. We had to ask our neighbor to move his truck so it would be a little easier to get out and he did thankfully but we still didn’t have enough room to miss the tree. The camper infront of us had a leaking sewer hose which made the flies awful and made the place stink. Also made me extremely nervous about bugs. There are yapping dogs that someone just leaves outside which is quite annoying. Out of the parks control but the birds are insane here, we had a freshly washed camper when we arrived and left with bird poop all over our camper and vehicles.
Jul 03, 2025 · Sydney***If you are a lone female traveler, PLEASE do not accept spot #12. There is a man nearby that made my first few weeks incredibly uncomfortable to the point where I had to move.***I stayed at this park from June/July to December.Joyce, the park manager, is not easy to get a hold of. I called a couple of times before my stay and my calls went to voicemail. When I was able to talk to her, I felt like my business wasn’t at all important as I was met with a prompt “no” on availability for a spot. During my stay, I noticed 5-10 open spots. A co-worker had to give me her spot vacancy and Joyce’s personal cell phone number to even get ahold of her properly.I was initially placed in a spot next to a lone trucker named Steve. He initially seemed friendly enough, but quickly got weird when I told him I was in Topeka by myself for work. All future interactions were extremely uncomfortable and unwanted. While changing my propane tanks he burst out of his camper and asked me if I knew where I was going with those. I tried to keep the conversation short but he would NOT let up. I couldn’t help but wonder how long he had been watching me inside his camper. In another instance, he ran behind my truck as I was trying to back up into my spot. As I was out one night, I got a call from Joyce- Steve “saw lights on and noticed a weird smell” coming from my camper. I have blackout curtains and there was no smell. His actions went beyond neighborly- they were threatening and creepy. I honestly was too scared to go back to the camper that night. When contacted about me moving spots the next day, she responded that he was “pretty harmless” and that she’d just put another female there next to him (see text below). I was told I would be followed up with regarding his behavior, and never was.I was so desperate to get away from Steve, I blindly chose the furthest spot out of his view, but I ended up next to a severely dilapidated trailer. This RV was literally held together with duct tape. The open sewer lines lead to a summer full flies, cockroaches, and other bugs. I spent a significant amount of money on UV lights and chemicals. My pump was broken, so I couldn’t winterize it, but left my rig to a drip when I was gone for a few days in December. When I returned, I found a sticky note on my door saying that since the water was leaking at my ground pump, it had been turned down. My basement and tanks were partially frozen. My husband and I had washed my slide out in preparation to pack up and I had left scissors on the truck tailgate. Later that night, my husband said he found them by the dumpster. Neither of us went to the dumpster before that. When packing up the RV, Joyce stopped by to give me my final receipt, expressing that she “wish she knew” how awful my stay was. I didn’t report anything further after the Steve incident because it became obvious that she doesn’t care, is clearly incompetent, and doesn’t have any interest in doing her job.Miscellaneous: neighbors dumping beer cans and trash on my site, people letting their dogs poop at my stairs.2 stars instead of 1 because the rent was cheap, but “If you buy on price, you pay for it twice”.Don’t be fooled by these recent 5 star reviews- I believe they’re being bought. They had 3.0 stars when I initially moved in. I agree with campers having a great experience staying one night, but as someone who stayed there for 5-6 months, there wasn’t that much overnight traffic.
Jan 02, 2025 · Ashley RomansStayed at Forbes Landing RV Park from June 20, 2025, to July 1, 2025.The website did not reflect current pricing or policies regarding refunds. We were told there are no refunds or reimbursements, which was not communicated up front. This was a work trip with a group of us. Each of us paid $215 for the first week, but for the remaining days, there were noticeable inconsistencies in rates: other group members were charged $25 per day, while my family was charged $45 per day for the same timeframe.I raised these concerns with both management and the owner but was unable to get a resolution. Future guests should be aware and confirm all rates and policies in writing before booking.**Edit per request of Forbes RV Park to “tell the WHOLE story”. I am also willing to attach screenshots if that’s what you would prefer.June 19, 2025 – I contacted Forbes RV Park to discuss site availability and pricing for my family and another family. After making reservations, I received an email with park guidelines attached.June 20, 2025 – We arrived at Forbes RV Park and went directly to our site per the email instructions, which stated there was no need to check in. I paid $215 for the first week.June 24, 2025 – A group message was sent to our party from Forbes explaining a booking error. Later, I received an individual message asking to run my card for another week. I declined at the time since my current payment covered us through June 27.June 27, 2025 – I contacted Forbes RV Park to re-register our site as instructed in the guidelines. Based on the prices listed online, I chose to pay another week at $215, since the daily fee listed was $45. I also mentioned we expected to leave by Tuesday, July 1.June 30, 2025 – I reached out to Forbes to confirm we planned to depart the next morning and inquired about a refund for the remaining days. The refund policy was not listed on the website or in the guidelines. I was informed of a no-refund policy but told they would issue a refund for one day at $25. I also raised a concern about the website showing a daily rate of $45.July 1, 2025 – We departed. Afterward, I discussed charges with the other members of our group and learned they had been charged $25 per day for the same timeframe. I then reached out to Forbes again to request their refund policy and contacted the owner of Forbes RV Park.July 2, 2025 – I continued conversations with both the Forbes RV office and the owner regarding the refund. I received a refund calculated as the difference between the weekly rate ($215) and four days at the daily rate of $45 (4 × $45 = $180; $215 − $180 = $35), totaling $35. I also continued asking why we were charged $45 per day when others in our group paid $25 per day.July 3, 2025 – I followed up again regarding the discrepancy in daily rates. Forbes RV did not respond. Owner had nothing further to discuss.
Jul 04, 2025 · Kayla WellsAbsolutely unreachable and unavailable. Not even sure they’re in business except that their VM states the name of the park.Prior to that we sent emails through their website.I left two voicemails on Monday 4/14. Left the information they requested and waited. Never heard back.Called back on Wednesday 4/16 and STILL no one answers the phone and it goes to VM.No one is so busy as to blow off customers for more than ten days with the email contact and then reaching out by phone. I guess they don’t need our money
