Dockside RV Resort & Alabama Gulf Coast Campground Reviews
My husband and I visited Alabama for the first time in April. We had a great time and found the Dockside RV Resort to be a bonus in our travels. The hosts, Sabrina and James, greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel welcomed, answering our questions and providing helpful information to make our stay enjoyable. The campground suited our needs perfectly - level parking, full hookups, large lots, dog friendly and peaceful surroundings. During our stay we enjoyed exploring the area, eating at a local restaurant, fishing and crabbing from the resort's dock and nearby marina, finding a local bait/seafood shop, relaxing and soaking in the beautiful sunsets. We experienced and enjoyed Southern hospitality at its finest throughout our Dockside stay. We hope to return in the future, allowing us to break away from our upstate NY winters. Thanks to all!
May 17, 2025 · Ellen PWe stayed at Dockside Rv Resort for 3.5 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The resort manager, Sabrina , and her husband James are the most welcoming and attentive resort hosts we have encountered. The lots are spacious, we stayed in a ocean view lot and waking up to the sunrise and seeing the sunsets over the water was heavenly. It is a 23 minutes from Dauphin Island, 30 minutes from Mobile, Al, next door to the fishing village of Bayou le Batre, where you can buy shrimp and seafood, fresh caught that morning. We are already looking forward to next spring so we can visit and kick up our feet in Southern Alabama at Dockside RV
Apr 22, 2025 · Suzanne D.We stayed here for the month of dec 2024. I was really excited about this park because of its location but sadly have some mixed feelings after our stay.It is a Beautiful location and you cannot beat the views. Very friendly management on site. However the managers always had their dogs off leash roaming the campground to the point the big dog they had towards the end of our stay climbed our steps to our camper. If we didn't have dogs I probably wouldn't care, but it made it very difficult sitting outside with my dogs tied and in control in our site. Or even just walking around the campground without being approached by their dogs. I don't feel it's our place to ask management to keep their dogs in their control. There isn't really anywhere near the campground to walk either as the surroundings area had Lots of random dogs that would charge. ( this clearly not the campground fault)The foot ball length fishing pier that's advertised is still being built, but the small part that's done is usable. There's no shower house or laundry or anything you get your site and that's it.The campground is close to town for your needs and is nestled into a quiet area with hardly any traffic. The pool is super cute, although not heated. There definitely is Lots of work to be done so hopefully with the new owners it will be an amazing park.
Jan 26, 2025 · Andrea FischerWe are at Docside RV for three days. We really like this place and enjoy the beautifull view. Sabrina and James are so lovely and helpfull. Did not bring a picknick table with us and next day they organized one for us. Also invited us to taste their delicious pulled pork burger with homemade coleslaw. A really lovely place
May 27, 2025 · Sandra Stieglbauer-ReheisWe had a nice stay. The good: the place was very clean and the pads were very nice with plenty power and the sewer pipes to each location. It was nice to look over the water in the morning.Camo host was really great, and friendly. 5 stars for her bing so nice and helpful alone.Could use improvement:The water is shared so you have to follow a water hose to another camper to get water. No showers or toilets. We are self contained so it was not a big deal but we all know the issues with showering and pooping in our campers. Most people expect "resort" label to have this. The spots could be labeled better. It's difficult to see especially at night. Also the website does not have a map that your can go back to reference after booking, so you need to screenshot it to know where it's at.They have Wifi which is cool but we forgot to get the password from the host and it's not in the email instructions so we did not get to use it.Good to know:There is a road between the camp and the water. The dock is not complete and there is no sand. It's not a problem, just something to know. It's nice but for us it's not worth the fee. Still giving it 5 stars overall.
