Del Yermo RV Park Introduce
For many Californians, RV travel is synonymous with adventure, freedom, and the discovery of unique landscapes. While some seek luxury resorts, others prefer a more rustic or utilitarian base camp from which to explore California's diverse natural wonders. Del Yermo RV Park, located in Calipatria, offers a distinct experience for RV enthusiasts, particularly those drawn to the rugged beauty and unique attractions of the Imperial Valley and the Salton Sea region. This article aims to provide a factual and informative overview of Del Yermo RV Park, addressing both its offerings and community feedback, to help local users in California make informed decisions about their RV travels.
RV parks in California vary widely in their amenities, atmosphere, and target audience. Some cater to short-term vacationers with an array of resort-style features, while others are designed for longer-term residents or those seeking a convenient stopover with basic necessities. Understanding these differences is key to choosing the right park for your needs. Del Yermo RV Park falls into a category that emphasizes practicality and provides a base for exploring the surrounding desert environment, particularly appealing to those interested in activities like off-roading, birdwatching, and delving into the unique history of the Salton Sea area.
The appeal of RV living often lies in its flexibility and the ability to immerse oneself in different environments. For those exploring the southeastern reaches of California, Del Yermo RV Park serves as a notable option. It's important for prospective visitors to consider all aspects of an RV park, including its amenities, management style, and the overall community environment, which can significantly impact the quality of a stay. This comprehensive look at Del Yermo RV Park is designed to give a clear picture of what to expect, drawing on publicly available information and community feedback to provide a well-rounded perspective for Californians planning their next RV adventure.
Del Yermo RV Park is situated at 263 E Alamo St, Calipatria, CA 92233, USA. Calipatria itself is a small city in Imperial County, notable for being home to the "tallest flagpole where the flag flies at sea level," standing at 184 feet. The city lies within the Imperial Valley, a region known for its agricultural industry and its proximity to the Salton Sea, a unique and ecologically significant inland lake.
The park's location offers access to a distinctive part of California that might not be on every traveler's radar but holds considerable appeal for specific interests. It is particularly well-positioned for exploring the southern end of the Salton Sea, including the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge, a critical stopover for migratory birds, offering exceptional birdwatching opportunities. For those interested in off-road adventures, the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area is approximately 30 miles away, providing vast terrains for ATV and dirt biking enthusiasts. Other nearby attractions include Salvation Mountain, a colorful, visionary art environment, and the quirky community of Slab City, both offering unique cultural experiences.
While Calipatria is a smaller community, its connection to major regional routes is beneficial. State Route 111, a primary north-south highway through the Imperial Valley, runs through Calipatria, providing direct access to larger cities like Brawley and El Centro to the south, and continuing north along the eastern shore of the Salton Sea. Interstate 8 is accessible further south in El Centro, connecting to San Diego to the west and Yuma, Arizona, to the east. This network of roads makes Del Yermo RV Park a potential stop for those traveling through or specifically visiting the Imperial Valley for its unique recreational and cultural offerings. The desert climate means hot summers, but also mild winters, making it a popular destination for snowbirds seeking warmth.

Del Yermo RV Park, while receiving mixed reviews regarding its management and specific conditions, could still be suitable for certain locals in California due to its unique location and fundamental offerings. For RVers who prioritize proximity to specific outdoor activities such as off-roading in the Imperial Sand Dunes, birdwatching at the Salton Sea, or exploring the distinctive cultural sites like Salvation Mountain, Del Yermo RV Park offers a convenient base. Its position in Calipatria means direct access to these regional attractions, which are often less crowded than California's more famous tourist destinations.
The park provides essential full hookups, which are a basic necessity for comfortable RV living, whether for short-term stays or longer-term residents. For those on a fixed income or seeking a more budget-friendly option compared to higher-end RV resorts, Del Yermo's rates may be appealing, although recent reviews indicate changes in pricing and included amenities like Wi-Fi and cable TV. It's crucial for prospective residents or visitors to contact the park directly to confirm current rates and available amenities before committing.
The community aspect, as noted by past residents, suggests that under previous management, there was a strong sense of association and timely resolution of issues. While recent feedback highlights concerns about current ownership and management responsiveness, the potential for a friendly atmosphere among fellow RVers is still a factor for some. Ultimately, Del Yermo RV Park caters to a specific niche within the California RV community – those who are self-sufficient, focused on outdoor pursuits in the desert environment, and are willing to manage potential challenges with on-site services. For these individuals, it could still serve as a practical and accessible gateway to the unique Imperial Valley.

Del Yermo RV Park Reviews
The trailer park is infested with drugs the DEA rated it while I was there and then another dealer moved in now there's three of them in the park with guns being shown and landlord chooses to evict someone because they're washing machine was draining on the ground and it made a mud puddle it's a dirty park I wouldn't recommend it
Dec 12, 2024 · Rosscena HolzschuherI lived here from July 2015 til September 2021 and up until the new owner took over the original owners were very sweet and did everything on their own.. they always associated with the people in the park and worked hard and fast to get issues fixed in a timely manner... When the new owner took over everything went downhill.. he does not leave his rich man Palm Springs home does not associate with anyone and he sends his manager to do everything.. He is nothing and no good we have never been later on rent nor on storage for our trailer and all of a sudden they are giving us 2 weeks to get our trailer empty and out of that space... And of course he is still comfy in his rich man house... I would never recommend this place... Please do not ever stay here they are not honest people and are very rude
Mar 26, 2022 · Jennifer WoodMiguel and Vianna Gonzalez would stay here again, its nice and quite the price is right and the owners are very nice,he even built me two ramps for my sewer hoses without even asking him to for free, no one does that these days. Thanks for the hospitality!
Mar 29, 2015 · Miguel GonzalezThey no longer offer services to dump your RV tanks unless you’re staying in the park. They were very nice very nice but I came out of my way to stop here instead of stopping somewhere sooner that could’ve provided me with the service had they updated the site. Thank you
