Location and Accessibility
Crystal Acres MHC is situated at 2850 N Crede Ave, Crystal River, FL 34428, USA. This address places it within the vibrant city of Crystal River, a gem on Florida's Nature Coast. This region is world-renowned for its pristine spring-fed waters, particularly the crystal-clear King's Bay, famous for being a sanctuary for manatees.
N Crede Ave offers local accessibility, connecting residents to the broader network of roads in Crystal River. While not a major highway, it provides convenient access to US-19 (Suncoast Boulevard), a significant north-south route that runs through the heart of Crystal River and connects to other key areas in Florida. This ensures that residents can easily navigate to nearby towns, essential services, and regional attractions.
The advantage of living in Crystal River is the immediate access to unparalleled outdoor recreational opportunities. Residents of Crystal Acres MHC are just a short drive away from numerous springs where they can swim, snorkel, dive, and, during the cooler months, interact with manatees. The area is also a haven for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating, with a multitude of rivers, lakes, and Gulf access points. Attractions like the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park offer further immersion in Florida's unique ecosystems and wildlife.
Beyond nature, Crystal River provides residents with necessary urban conveniences. Local grocery stores, pharmacies, dining establishments, and retail shops are all within easy reach. The charm of Crystal River lies in its ability to offer a relaxed, small-town atmosphere while still providing essential services. The community's location strikes a balance between tranquil natural surroundings and practical access to daily necessities, which can be highly appealing for Floridians seeking a peaceful lifestyle with convenient amenities.
Services Offered
- Manufactured Homes for Rent: Crystal Acres MHC offers "homes for rent," suggesting options for individuals or families seeking a long-term residential solution within a manufactured housing community. (Note: A review mentions a "park model trailer" for rent.)
- RV Spots for Rent: The community also advertises "RV spot to rent," indicating that it accommodates recreational vehicles, likely offering designated concrete pads with necessary hookups.
- Property Management and Maintenance: The community has management and maintenance personnel. However, based on reviews, there are significant concerns regarding the frequency and effectiveness of maintenance services, with one resident stating, "maintenance is only there on Tuesdays" and that issues "never got fixed."
- Application Process: Prospective residents, including those seeking RV spots, undergo an "application process," similar to apartment rentals, which typically involves background checks and credit evaluations.
- Utilities: Residents are responsible for utilities, including water, which are billed to them. However, a review mentions issues with high water bills and a lack of transparency regarding charges.
- Lawn Maintenance (Variable): While a resident indicated having to "pay someone to mow my yard because it would get so high," and later needing to "beg and send pictures" for it to be cut, this suggests that lawn service, if provided by the park, is inconsistent.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For Floridians considering Crystal Acres MHC in Crystal River, it's important to approach this community with a clear understanding of its current state, as indicated by recent resident feedback. While its location offers undeniable appeal, prospective residents should be mindful of the reported challenges regarding maintenance, management responsiveness, and cost transparency.
The primary suitability for locals lies in its advantageous geographical position. Crystal River is a highly desirable area for those who cherish Florida's natural environment. Living at Crystal Acres MHC places residents within immediate reach of world-class outdoor activities such as swimming with manatees, exploring pristine springs, and enjoying Gulf Coast fishing and boating. For Floridians passionate about the outdoors, this proximity can significantly enhance their lifestyle, offering a constant invitation to enjoy the natural beauty of their home state.
However, it is crucial for locals to carefully weigh the reported concerns. Issues like "roach infestation," "overflowing showers," "leaking washers," and "kitchen sink leaks" that go unfixed, along with inconsistent lawn maintenance, indicate significant challenges in property upkeep. The reported difficulty in retrieving security deposits and a pattern of "rent keep going up every few months" are also serious considerations for long-term financial planning. The experience of an RV seeker finding the "place was over priced and looked like a run down property" and having a complex application process for "just a concrete pad" suggests a disconnect between perceived value and current offerings.
For Floridians seeking a long-term manufactured home or RV spot, a thorough due diligence process is strongly recommended. This should include direct visits to the property to assess current conditions, speaking with current residents if possible, and requesting a detailed breakdown of all costs and expected services in writing. While the allure of Crystal River is strong, ensuring that the living environment meets personal standards for maintenance, safety, and financial predictability is paramount. Ultimately, Crystal Acres MHC's suitability for locals will depend on an individual's tolerance for these reported issues and their priority for the prime Crystal River location.

Crystal Acres MHC Reviews
I moved in, not knowing the home, had a roach infestation in the walls,.. I couldn’t take more than a three minute shower before it would overflow into my entire bathroom. I will clean it up and put it in the washer and the washer would leak from the back.. maintenance is only there on Tuesdays so I had to wait for them to do absolutely nothing to fix it. I had to pay someone to mow my yard because it would get so high. I couldn’t even see the snakes that were out there when I would walk my dogs I eventually had to pay someone other times II had to beg and send a pictures before it was cut and then follow up again before they come out there to actually cut it. .. The kitchen sink also leaked and that never got fixed when I finally moved out. I took three days off of work because I live alone and I’m moving my house alone. I use two days to move and use the third day to clean so that I could get my deposit back.. I had a friend come help me clean and after I had left, she put one small hole in the wall with the broom accidentally so that was the only thing that was wrong when I left, and they refuse to give me my deposit back. They said they sent correspondence to my address, but I’ve not received anything from them.. It has been five months now and still, I have not received my deposit back. I suggest not moving there. They never fix anything. They just sugarcoat it to make it last another month… Also, my rent started out at 850 for a park model trailer and went up to 950 in eight months so if you move there, expect to have your rent keep going up every few months and have roaches when you leave that you didn’t have before
Jan 03, 2025 · Kasey BlackWas looking for an RV spot to rent. This place was over priced and looked like a run down property. They have an application process like you are renting an apartment instead of just a concrete pad. Several empty RV pads. I guess they don't need the business.
Apr 26, 2025 · Kevin CollinsI was looking up places for long term. From what I read, it's all very old, but the satellite pictures show a very sloppy park. I can understand a trailer, shed, outside furniture. Each site has the trailers just thrown in there with stuff everywhere. Can't tell where a site ends or starts. The pictures y'all have are of everything but the park. Seems like a price I could afford rite now and I could make a nice home for myself but that place needs improvement and I read one person made a site a couple of times and was made to move because of a regulars request, he should have had a lease signed where that wouldn't have happened cause I wouldn't have moved. I do hope it gets more cleaned up and some real pictures that match the satellite ones to show how it looks.
Dec 12, 2024 · MarkRent keeps raising, and the management doesn't take care of trimming shrubs or cleaning up their junk campers.
Jan 15, 2025 · Donald McBrideI hope the new Management is better then the last. WOW. They were Awful!!!! We rented a spot for 6 months while our house was being built. We have a 2019 37’ Big Horn 5 TH wheel with 4 slides. They move me 3 times in 2 months because one of there (regulars$ wanted the spot I was on. After the 3rd time, we moved to another campground. Very bad experience here. My 1st and last trip here.
