Situated relatively close to major interstates, it provides excellent accessibility for those traveling across the state or making it a stop on a longer journey.
While specific highway proximity isn't detailed, Blacksburg's position in the Upstate region of South Carolina typically means good connections to I-85, a primary artery for travel between Atlanta, Georgia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. This makes Cherokee RV Park an ideal overnight stop or a convenient base for exploring the surrounding areas. The park's address on Carroll Drive suggests a location that balances ease of access with a departure from the immediate noise of major roads, contributing to the quiet atmosphere frequently mentioned by guests. Cherokee RV Park focuses on providing essential, high-quality services to ensure a convenient and comfortable stay for its guests, particularly those with larger RVs. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
Big-Rig Friendly Sites: This is a major highlight. The park is explicitly designed to accommodate large recreational vehicles, including those towing trailers up to 62 feet in length. This means ample space and maneuverability.
Pull-Through Spots: A significant convenience for all RVers, especially those with big rigs, are the pull-through sites. These allow for easy entry and exit without the need for complex backing maneuvers, making setup "simple and fast."
Full Hookups: Every site is equipped with full power (both 30 amp and 50 amp service), fresh water, and sewer connections. This provides all the necessary utilities for a completely self-contained and comfortable stay.
Responsive Communication via Text Messaging: The park primarily uses text messaging for communication, which many modern travelers find highly convenient and efficient. Guests note that even if they don't see the owner in person, responsiveness is excellent, and questions are addressed promptly.
Well-Maintained Utilities: Reviews highlight that the power, water, and sewer connections are reliable and easy to use. The water connection, notably, is in-ground at the pull-through sites, indicating a thoughtful and discreet setup.
Owner Presence and Rounds: While communication is text-based, guests appreciate that the owner "definitely makes rounds," ensuring the park is well-maintained and that needs are being met, even if not through direct face-to-face interaction at all times.
It's important to note that the park explicitly mentions a lack of "special amenities" like a clubhouse, pool, playground, or laundry facilities. This focus on core RV services contributes to its quiet nature and keeps the experience straightforward, appealing to those who prioritize essential hookups and a peaceful environment.
Cherokee RV Park offers several distinctive features that contribute to its appeal, particularly for those seeking a tranquil and efficient RV experience:
Scenic Horse Pasture Views: A unique and consistently praised highlight is the view from the pull-through spots. They overlook a field with "friendly horses" that visitors can enjoy watching. This provides a charming and pastoral backdrop to your stay.
Relaxing Bonfire Area: For communal relaxation and enjoyment, the park provides a central bonfire area. This feature allows guests to unwind by the fire, perfect for quiet evenings after a day of travel or exploration.
Benches for Relaxation: Strategically placed benches allow guests to comfortably sit and enjoy the scenery, particularly the horses, or simply to relax outdoors.
Quiet and Peaceful Atmosphere: Without the distractions of extensive amenities like playgrounds or clubhouses, the park maintains a serene and quiet ambiance, which is a significant draw for those looking for a restful stop.
Easy Setup: The combination of clear instructions, pull-through sites, and reliable full hookups makes the setup process "simple and fast," reducing the stress often associated with arriving at a new campground.
Excellent Communication: The text-based communication system is highly effective, ensuring that guests receive prompt responses and assistance, even without constant in-person interaction with the owner.
Beautiful Scenery: Beyond the horses, the overall natural environment of the park is described as "beautiful," contributing to a pleasant and refreshing stay.
These features collectively create an experience that prioritizes ease, comfort, and natural beauty, making it an excellent choice for RVers who value a straightforward and peaceful environment.

Cherokee RV Park Reviews
This campground is big rig friendly. From the easy instructions, pull through spots, and full power (30/50 amp) / water/sewer connections, it was simple and fast to get set up. The pull through spots overlook a field with friendly horses. The scenery is beautiful. There are benches to sit and watch the horses play, or just relax by the bonfire. There are no special amenities (no clubhouse, no pool, no playground, no laundry that we saw). Communication is via text messaging. The water connection at the pull through sites is in the ground. You may not see the owner, but he definitely makes rounds and is very responsive.
May 20, 2025 · Marianne WardMore than happy to rate this place 5 stars. It was a wonderful stop on a long trip. We had been boondocking in a large rig (62' with trailer) and were happy to see this place is big rig friendly. From the easy instructions, pull through spots, and full power/water/sewer connections, it was super simple and fast to get set up. I honestly wish we could stay longer. Your pull through spots overlook a field with friendly horses that love a good nose pat. There are benches to sit and watch them play, or just relax by the bonfire.

Nov 21, 2024 · John MckayGreat place to glamp whether you stay for one night or a week. Plenty of room for a 40 feet RV plus 20 feet car hauler trailer. Owner is extremely nice and willing to do whatever he can to help you.
Nov 04, 2024 · Debra EllisWe really enjoyed our stay at the Cherokee RV Park. Check-in was so easy. We just drove into our site, and a clipboard was on the pedestal with our receipt and area info. Our pull through site included full hook-ups, a gas grill, and a bench overlooking a hose pasture with 5 very friendly horses. Town is not far away, and the Food Lion has everything you need. Only 2 miles off the interstate, this place is both convenient and quiet. Thanks Cherokee rv park, for a really nice stay. It's been almost exactly a year since this review, and we have returned for a stay this November 2024. This is still a great place to stay. I highly recommend Cherokee RV.
