Captain Jax Mobile RV Park Reviews
This is our 3rd year at Kings Camp RV. It’s a small but nice park. The facilities are well kept and clean. We love stopping here for a few days on our way through. The manager, Ruth, is very welcoming and always willing to help you in any way she can. Last year, the day we arrived, I had an emergency during the night and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Miami. We had only planned to stay two days because of reservations further down in the Keys. This was our very first trip as retirees, and we were so looking forward to it. This was also our rescue dog’s first Motorhome trip. He had severe separation anxiety. Me being in the hospital forced us to have to kennel our dog, because driving an 1 1/2 each way was so hard on my husband. Then came the worry that we were out of our reserved time and someone else needed our spot. In a panic, with nowhere else to go, my husband reached out to the manager. She stepped up and created a spot to move into until I was released from the hospital, after a week’s stay. We were so grateful for her kindness and concern. We would have been in a horrible situation had she not been so kind and helpful. We had nowhere else to go. She even called to check up on me, after we left several times. We will always stop here on our travels down and back through the Keys.
Mar 11, 2025 · Kay ClarkWe stayed for 25 days… we called to reserve for this many days and they found us seven different spots! We didn’t mind moving as we met and made many friends. This is an “Old Keys” park with many long term residents and many RV spots. Bigger rigs will find it challenging, but when “Michael” is working you will do just fine fitting into your spot. The beach area is really nice…. with accommodation of chaise lounges and chairs. Sunsets are unbelievable.😎
Feb 15, 2023 · Cheryl AmbrosoneThe manager on site came straight from the CDRComite de Defensa de la Revolución ... So unprofessional and the park rules are a joke1700 for a lot .... Marina is almost 20 / foot ... No water to flush your motor and 30 for using the ramp and if somebody comes to visit you there's an additional 10 per car
Jun 30, 2024 · jose alonsoI wish I could give zero stars. I have been camping since the 1960's and this is the first campground I ever left without staying because I did not feel safe. The dirty looks of the guest and the person who guided us to our spot, were spine chilling. There was only a few feet between my camper and a house trailer where a dog was barking and chopping at the bit to get us. The pictures do not give an accurate representation of how dilapidated and uninviting this place is. So after being there for approximately an hour, we found another campground and left. I talked to a manager the next day after and explained why we left. She seemed surprised and appalled but did not offer to give my $135 deposit back. I would not recommend this place and I will never go back, no more in life. This part of the review is being written two weeks after I was at Captain Jax and about a week after the first part of the review. I was contacted a few days ago by the owner of Captain Jax. He wanted to get more info about what happened. I explained what happened and he listens and apologized for what happened. That was the good part, then he brought up the $135 deposit. He said he would refund the deposit if I agreed to take down my post! It was my choice. I would not take down my post because that is the reason people post things, to let people know what kind of place you might pick to visit. Also I do not respond well to bribes.
Jan 01, 2023 · RC SmithWe were parked right on the canal. We were able to watch pelicans feeding. I was pleasantly surprised in the park. No the park does not have very many amenities, but the views make up for it. If I were to come back to the keys, I would definitely stay here again.
